Went to multiple shops in search of a qipao. Just when I was about to give up, I gave this unassuming shop a try. Located in the same plaza as THH sandwiches, I came during the week and was able to find parking at the end of the plaza. Walked up to the shop and the lady's working were super helpful. Told them what I was looking for and were so patient as I tried on dress after dress.. I finally found one that worked, reason for the 5 stars..... they did alterations on spot also! So not only was the dress reasonably priced, they threw in the alterations and I was able to take it home the same day. It may not be the biggest brightest shop, but they for sure had the best customer care that I've received. read more

Love this store. I have been going here for our family Tet outfits since my first born, who is 13 now. Mindy has a few helpers, who are very helpful getting your sizes, with a smile. (Trust me, with so many dresses you just want to try a lot) The store has a lot of dresses on display, with one fitting area and a few make shift fitting areas to accommodate customers. Me and my friend went to see au day for her dance and was looking for a pink one and this lady was SO RUDE to my friend she constantly kept telling her that she's to big and abt her weight . Ao dai stores have the best big blankets. Stopped by here to grab my boyfriend a blanket and the store owner (Mindy I would assume) was very friendly! She spoke with us as we browsed for the perfect blanket. It varies from $35-$55 depending on what size. My bf ended up buying a king size blanket for $45, and I also got a little Frozen (the Disney movie) ao dai for my niece for $15! Mindy is very accommodating, she said if we needed a different size for the blanket or ao dai, we can come back and exchange them! I never write reviews, but I had to give one after a horrible experience I had at Mindy fashion today. She constantly kept making comments about my weight and saying how I shouldn't be picky because I'm too fat to fit into an Ao Dai. I literally wear a M/L in American sizes. She put on the Ao Dai herself and kept showing me photos of her wearing them saying how good she looked instead of helping me. As I was about to walk out the door, a petite girl walks in and she said, "Oh yay, a skinny girl I can help". Worst experience of my life, I wish her store shut down already. read more

I usually don't post negative review but I figured I need to review this place so everyone can stay away. I would give this place Zero star if I could. The owner is very RUDE and very disrespectful. I would never thought there such a disgusting attitude human being existed in this world, especially in this century and in this country. My mother in-law and I were browsed for Ao Dai , a Traditional Vietnamese Dress. We found this place and decided to give it a try. I knew what I want so I came in and asked her right away for the style that I wanted. Right after asking, without her help and not even browsing the shop yet; I spotted a pink "Ao Dai" next to me that I want to try on. I asked her for the pants so I can try on with the ao dai. She snapped me back with " are you gonna buy that dress ? You can try on the pants after you fit in and decide to buy that dress. If you don't buy it then I will take it. I like that color too and it was the only one left" it was 3rd day of Lunar New Year so I decided to ignore and moved on with trying on the dress. The dress fits me okay but by the arms was a little too tie and make a lot of creases, it was also hard to move my arms up and down. I told her that and she said I didn't wear it correctly and tried to pull the dress in so many ways to make all the creases fron the arms disappeared but unfortunately it didn't work. At that time , my husband called & asked me to go home bc we were almost late for our dinner plan. I thanks her for letting me try on and told her I will come back since I have to leave . She then scolded at me : " if you don't want to buy it then hurry up and give me the dress back" I gave her back dress and she pulled the dress back out from my hands really hard with an attitude. While putting on my clothes, she kept telling me that the ao dai looks great on me and fits me well but I am so cheap that I can't even spend $40 bucks on a nice ao dai for myself. And she kept go on with comments that there were many singers and models buying ao dai from her and told me I have to be happy with what around me and stop being picky on my self. At the end, when my mother inlaw and I walked out , she even told me to not come back to her shop next time because she doesn't want to greet picky customer like me. I was like WTF ! I was not even spending 5 minutes in her shop and she didn't even let me try out any thing except for that UGLY & CHEAP MATERIAL ao dai that I can't even use to sweep the floor with. read more

Like the other reviews, Mindy the owner is very RUDE. My mom and I were looking for an Ao Dai for my wedding, the sheer robe, and the hat. We figured out my head size for hat since I've tried on a few at other stores. The stores that carried my head size did not carry the design that I had in mind. When I began to browse through their selection of pre-made Ao Dai, Mindy had already said none of them would fit me since I was fat. I already know what I look like and my man loves my curves in every way. I don't think she has a man by the way she dressed. She looked like she was in her 50s dressing in a short mini skirt, high hooker heals, long black hair and GLOBS of makeup on her face. She may be in good shape for her age, but her attitude made her look like a witch! Anyway, she was boasting with other customers who she is the fashion queen and everyone loves her designs, etc. etc. She also tried to show off her figure by saying she works out with a lot of cardio by doing Zumba everyday. After looking through her selection of wedding stuff, I didn't like anything. She told my mom that she could order the hat in my size and the design that I wanted. This idiot also told me to lose more weight so that my head would fit smaller hats. WTF?!??!? Obviously, she is not very well educated, especially on Anatomy and Physiology. I didn't want to give her any business, and encouraged my mom to look somewhere else. My mom went ahead and gave her a deposit and she handed us the receipt for us to bring back in a few days. We went to the store across from Mindy, and found the actual hat and size so we went back to ask for a refund. This was literally 10 minutes after leaving her store. She refused to refund the money and said we can exchange for anything in the store. My mother stated that she didn't like anything and tried to get the money back. Unfortunately, we were stuck with Mindy. A few days later, we returned and she had two hats in my size to choose from. Luckily, one of them was the hat I was looking for. She tried to demonstrate how to wear the hat, and it went straight through her head since her head was so small. I wanted to laugh at her so bad! So I told her, "I study too much, so my head is pretty big." I don't know how such a person can keep her business open. Especially when she tells everyone how fat they are, and refuses to carry bigger sizes. She needs to realize that the younger generation who are born here or grew up here are "healthier" in size due to the vitamins and nutrition. Then again, it's hard to get through to someone who has such a small head and lacks a lot of things such as common sense. I'm only giving her one star for ordering the hat that I had wanted. If you can go somewhere else, I would encourage you to do so and save yourself from body shaming and discrimination. read more

Waited soooo long to post this. I usually don't like giving reviews but this is too much ! I've been coming here to buy ao dai and xuong xam for two years and this year, I've had enough I ordered two xuong xam in size medium ! I asked to get it sleeveless and short for work (mind you I bought these in weeks in advance - way before any last minute rushes!) she told me it'll be done in three days... It took her a week to get ONE done (I've been calling) & it wasn't tailored the right length And another Week to get the last one done which wasn't tailored correctly NOR was it the right SIZE. So I had to switch it with something else and had to come back again in two days (around this time, it's close to the due date that I need it and I'm stressed and anxious) Came back in two days, received my last one but to realize it wasn't the desired length I wanted On top of that, she also mentioned how I gave her tremendous headaches for calling all the time to check up on it. I came here in a desperate search for an ao dai for Lunar New Year. I actually went across the way first and they didn't have anything I liked but between the two, there's quite a selection. Mindy was standing outside waving me in when she saw that I was coming out of the other store. Let me just say, Mindy is about as Bolsa and EXTRA as you can get. She had my friend watch a video of her modeling an ao dai and doing karaoke. She is a crack up and an upseller so come in ready. She does have great quality stuff but it is a bit pricier. She offered to hem my pants in two days. The ao dais range from $30 (short tunic) -$100. I bought a higher end one because these places make me so claustrophobic so I just wanted out. I am a size 6 so you know, 5XL in ao dai sizing, I also didn't have much of a choice. Not that I am defending rudeness in any way but if you didn't get emotionally abused, you're not in Bolsa. Don't let it get to your self-esteem because this is like H&M but 5x smaller. read more

Had a positive experience at this place. Went in and showed the nice lady a picture of the garment I wanted. She was so welcoming and found it right away. I went and tried it on and she even suggested tailoring it for me for a very reasonable price. I would definitely come back for other ao dai. If it has a negative rating, I would definitely choose one it. I normally don't like writing review but yesterday was my first time at this store and I don't want to come back. The owner of the store has such HORRIBLE customer service skills, so that's why I have to write this review. I went there to look for ao dai, and the first thing she said to us after greeting us was that she's a model and everyone loves her ao dai collection. Then she tried to put a few on her body to show us how great they look good on her. So I told her to just let me look around. I finally found one but it wasn't my size. However, she said she could tailor it so that it could fit me, and so I tried it on. After seeing me in the ao dai, she started making nasty comments about my appearance, saying how it's too big for me, and it doesn't look good on me. I gave her that "wtf!!??" look. I mean what was she thinking making such nasty comments about her customer when she already knew the dress was not the size of her customer? She even said just try it on and she will take my measurements and tailor it to fit me. She also said that it will look good if it was on her, so she put it on. The dress was also a bit big on her. I wanted to laugh at her so bad. Not only was it big for me, it was also dirty at the bottom. She told us if we could pay her in full, she could have it dry clean for us. Who would pay so much for the ao dai and it's not even clean. I mean really? Dry clean? It's like saying to me: "You pay so much for a second hand ao dai." After such nasty comments she made about me, I just wanted to step out of that store immediately. When she realized I wasn't gonna buy it, she started making more bad comments about how I was being picky and stuck up. I honestly want to give this place a negative rating, this was how HORRIBLE Amy experience was. First of all, I went to be other clothing store right in front of this one FIRST and their service was great. However, the service at mindy's fashion was literal sh*t, and that is me trying to be nice. We all know the sizing at type of places is small, so my size for the ao dai was 3x-4x and I normally wear a M/L in American clothing stores. This is not the issue, the issue is how the owner (Mindy) decided to criticize my weight. This is what she said, "Look, I have a lot of pretty colors in the size you need...but the problem is you're too fat. You need to stop being so picky because you're already so big. Look at me, I'm a small. Your thighs are way too big". She then proceeded to try on a 3X ao dao to show me how much skinner she was than me. My recommendation: NEVER come here. read more

They helped my mom nicely and were very nice, recommended what would look good on her and etc. My mom and my little sister bought themselves one for only $70 which is a really good deal for good quality dresses. This place shouldn't deserve to earn any star. I went to this store because I was taking my kids to buy boba across from this store and saw some traditional Vnese dress in front. So then I decided to come in to look around. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the owner is very pushy and after being in the for 10 mins, I bought a Vnese dress and it was around 6pm. However, when I got home I didn't like the color and thought if I could exchange for another one. The next day I called but no one answer so I drove back to the store around 2pm and asked to exchange for a different color. At first the owner said I have to pay extra $15 to exchange because of the service they provide for the exchange and then she asked me to buy another one. I didn't want to buy another one and she told she won't take it back anymore. Seriously, what kind of business are they running? It's really a joke. First she said she will do it for $15 more and because I didn't want to buy another one and she didn't want to exchange for me anymore. I would never come to this store again and I sure will tell every one that I know not to come to this store because the owner is not trustworthy. There are lots of better shops out there! read more

When i walked in i was greeted and i told the lady what i was looking for and she showed me, i was like wow they have a lot of selections so far so good... so im looking for my size which is a large (knowing my size from the other store, same material,same style) soo she had showed me a dress, she said you should try this XXL because youre not small, youre pretty big (obviously calling me fat) i was thinking wow, rude much? but i ignored it and continued to find a bunch of different ones to try then i asked if i could try it on so the fitting room they had was being occupied already so she pulled some blinds to make a "fitting room" my head can be seen out from this and i look up and i see a camera there i dont even know if its working or not i attempted to try it on but the place was super tiny it was impossible and so uncomfortable i told her i cannot id rather wait for the fitting room i waited for a good 10-15mins the second lady was real nice i ended up picking a different material and style i had came in for and this ended up being a XXL (im not your 00 girl but im not plus size either i wear 29 jeans) i asked her how much she said it's typically 45 but she can do it for 40 and i was trying to bargain but she wasnt allow to give the pricing so she showed me to a different lady which led me to write this review she said look you see this material they use this to make shoes? Or something it was thick material was what she was basically saying and THEN tops it off with AND youre an XXL that means more fabric shes saying this while another customer is next to me how embarassing and rude to be fat shaming me lady, you own a business is this your technique on selling people your clothes???? The owner was very rude. I always buy a'o dai from her place every single year. Chi Hanh, she's nice but Mindy is heck of a bitch. I went in yesterday to find some a'o dai for my brother's upcoming engagement ceremony. I went in, chi Hanh find some a'o dai for me to try on. Every single of them looked ugly on me, maybe cuz I'm kinda chubby, I admitted. Mindy was very pushy, she kept telling that she won third place in fashion a'o dai, she's skinny size small Yadi Yadi... Whatever I don't care about that. I love the color white/purple and I don't have those in my a'o dai collection so I was thinking of buying one but Mindy was like " you can't wear white to the wedding, it bring bad luck, you can't wear purple, it look too sad..." Which might be true. After 20 mins of trying on a'o dai. I was about to walk out of the store. When she realized I didn't buy anything from her, she told me go somewhere else and look Because she wouldn't let me try on anymore, she cannot clean up after me. I understand, and I was hanging the a'o dai back after trying each of them, it's not like I'm making her do it. She is very rude, another customer walked in looking for a'o ba ba. I heard she asked the customer what size? The lady said "small". Mindy looked at her and said no way, she should be wearing size large because she's fat. What the heck??? They assumed my mother had no money and even told her that she had to get her hair done, makeup, AND show them the receipt before she can buy anything. I was going with my friend and two other friends of us to this place so she could buy her ao dai. The lady (who seemed to be the owner), kept asking who was going to get one even though we constantly telling her that it was just my friend who needed it and we were there just to help. Then, that lady changed her attitude and kept ranting on how the traditional ao dai neck would make my friend look fat and how no size would fit my friend. Yes, she said FAT in front of our faces without realizing that was rude and offensive. She repeated herself around five times and kept calling my friend fat, rolled her eyes at another lady who was standing at the sewing machine. I wish I could give them zero star. After that, my friend was able to find one that fits her beautifully in Asian Garden Mall. In your face, lady. So I know that I'm a lot bigger than what would expect size wise for a Vietnamese girl but they were down right rude when they said it. I went in on 2/12/16 to find an ao dai for the festival to weAr with my friends. When I asked them if they had it for me, they rolled their eyes and said oh your very chubby and looked at my friends who was skinnier and asked multiple times if she wanted to buy one. I asked them if they had any with collars that are in my size and they said that I'm already fat having a collar will make me fatter. They also started feeling my hips and said "oh she probably a XXXL, oh so fat we don't have any" (Dude I have worn ao dais before I know what I look like) so I left because I couldn't find anything and when I was near the door I heard her say to her worker in Vietnamese " she's way to fat she can't fit anything in here".
