HONEST REVIEW: I was looking for traditional Chinese outfits and Ao Dais for my son's 100 day celebration. While the daughter, who looks over the store, is overall nice, the product they sell is TERRIBLE. There are no instructions on how to wash the outfits, so I looked it up online and people generally hand wash them with cold water to be safe, which is what we did. That was a big NOPE. Immediately, the blue dye on the outfit melted away and blended in with the gold colors, ruining it and the overall vibrance. My wife's hands were stained blue for the entire day. My granite countertops are still stained blue! We were devastated. We came back to the store and asked for a refund/exchange. They were of no help, saying, "We just sell the product. What you do it with it after is your responsibility. You should've made sure to wash it under the clothing's instructions." There were NO instructions! The store owner's daughter and I looked and could not find any; and still, she did not take back her words. This is not how you do customer service. How do you expect a customer to come back if they are left unsatisfied? Why sell products that are of one-time use and of terrible quality? Why not take some accountability? Yes, you sell the product, but you have the power to not sell terrible products and ruin the reputation of your store. Anyways, I hate being a Karen, but I hope they learn from this experience. This is usually my go to spot for ao dai. They don't just sell women and children's clothes. Lots of options for men too. Cathy and her family are very welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you find what you're looking for. They take their time and don't rush you to buy anything. By far my most favorite little shop for traditional Vietnamese clothing. This little mom and pop shop not only carries a large number of designs and colors when it comes to ao dais but the owners honestly roll out the red carpet when it came down to customer service provided. Whether you stopped by for 1 or 5 different sets, the friendliness and the welcoming vibes from the staff is all the same. Shout out to the young man who was extremely patient with me and my picky ways. He happily brought out bundles of packaged ao dais for me to rummage through and gave me permission to removed the packaging if I needed a better look. We came here recently to purchase some kids ao dai for Tet. They were busy because it was the weekend before Tet and everyone was getting their outfits ready for the new year. The sales associate is really friendly and personable. She allowed us to look through their inventory to find what style, size we needed and kept saying if it doesn't fit, bring it back and they'll exchange it. Their pricing is very reasonable compared to the stores outside of Phuoc Loc Tho. We've been back to purchase more items and we'll continue to support this shop. I am SO glad I found Cathy and Novelty for my ao dai! I walked in a bit nervous since my Vietnamese isn't great and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to explain what I wanted. But Cathy was super friendly and when I explained what I wanted she immediately knew what to get for me.. I didn't listen at first and she showed me a couple dresses and ultimately tried on what she recommended and dang she is GOOD. The dress was a perfect fit, she knew what I wanted when I didn't. I bought my kids Ao dai Vietnamese traditional clothing here for a Tet party. I didnt have cash but John let me pay with Venmo. I went home and my 2 1/2 year old protested the yellow color boy outfit. He wanted red. I went back and they let me exchange the ao dai to red. Then my mother in law saw my girl's ao dai and strongly protested the peacock design on it. OGM so I had to go back and exchange it again. The lady did not want to exchange it saying I bought it long time ago. I only bought few days ago. Good thing John was there and he remembered me. He let me exchange my girl's ao dai. Thank God.
