I was bluntly told the computer says $17.99. No sorry, just an awkward stare. Knowing that there's definitely no chance of a resolution here, I just walked out. Spent $40 at Build a Bear instead. The experience here is awkward and lacks professional decorum.

It was one of those places that helped build a lifelong love for RC cars and the hobby itself. Now, decades later, I genuinely enjoy taking my own children there and sharing that same experience with them. It's something really special to me and my family. That's why this situation has been so hard. I dropped off an RC truck for repair and expected it might take some time. What I didn't expect was how long it actually took -- months and months passed while I waited. Eventually, when I called to check on it, I was told the truck had already been surrendered after 90 days. That news was absolutely heartbreaking. This wasn't just a piece of equipment to me. It was something I had invested a lot into and something tied to years of enjoyment in this hobby. I understand that businesses have policies, and I don't doubt they have rules in place, but learning about it only after the fact made the loss feel even worse. What makes this especially difficult is that I truly love this store. It's been part of my life story from childhood to now as a parent. I honestly can't imagine not going there anymore, and that's what makes this situation so emotionally complicated for me. I'm not posting this to attack anyone. I'm just really torn and hurt by how this played out, and I wish there had been more communication before it reached that point.

Approximately half the store is dedicated to various reading materials like comics, manga, and fiction. The other half is board games, RPGs, and supplies for said games (like mini figs and paints, dice, etc.). Throughout the store you'll also find toys, posters, collectibles, comic/trading card storage, and more. There's a lot to look at, so if you've never been, I recommend giving yourself at least an hour to browse around. This game shop also doubles as a community gathering and event space. There's lots of room and tables/chairs in the back to accommodate gamers who want to come in and play or hang and be social. I'm sure they have many specific goings-on each week (for example, I saw a sign advertising mini fig painting every Monday evening!); you can check out their event calendar on their website. There was also a gender ambivalent restroom and water fountain/water bottle refill station nearby. Some beverages were available for sale near the front. It is also quite obviously a safe space, as I saw in addition to the hanging pride flag an entire section dedicated to queer and trans materials, and an end cap as well for POC and disabled folk. I can't say how much it means to me as a trans person to see this kind of representation clearly on display during a challenging political time. I hadn't gone with the intention of buying anything (isn't that typical? lol) but to be honest, when I saw the queer support they were displaying, I wanted to support them back. It wasn't hard to find a couple things I wanted in order to give them my financial business. If you too prioritize supporting local queer businesses, consider buying from here! I normally wouldn't have been up this far north from where I live, but I was headed to a Yelp Elite event a little early and decided to see what else was in the area. So glad I stopped in here! My partner and I were looking for more two-player games, and the staff at ASG delivered. They were so kind and knowledgeable about all the different games, and never made us feel like goobers for asking questions. They had several recommendations and gave us helpful descriptions of what each game is like. You can even take used games out of their box and check the board / pieces / rules out before buying. I love that! If I lived closer, I would for SURE be on the rental train. The first time you rent it's a bit steeper, but every time after you rent any game, it's really cheap. Get it for a week at a time. Or, do their monthly membership-style program to get new games(s) every month! The best part?! If you decide to buy a game you rented, they take what you already paid off the total. Now that is a customer friendly policy! We ended up going home with Skull and Splendor this time. She's been all over the store showing me things she thought my babies would like, and opened some of the packages so we could try them out. The place is called Teeny Bee for a reason, they have a lot of baby stuff, and some toddler stuff, but not much for kiddos older than that. They do have classes in the basement that I think are usually free- dance classes and music classes. I can't wait til my boys are old enough to go! You should also "like" her page on FB, she announces random sales and gives product reviews. Here's the only slightly negative- it's on the expensive side. But it's boutique stuff that you can't buy at Babies-R-Us or Target. And in my opinion, it's way better than most of the stuff you'll get there anyhow, but I know how it feels to pay mucho money for something your kid will only wear for a month (if you're lucky.)
