Though she was booked all day and was traveling the next day, she still let me come by during her only free hour since I was so sore post-race. The massage work is terrific. Tamara is very strong, but more importantly is also very skilled and is able to locate the knotted areas that need the most work. She's also very knowledgeable; I had initially asked for a deep tissue massage, but she explained that was too intense for one day after the race and did a mix of Swedish and deep tissue work. I was amazed by how much better my body felt the next day. The pricing is competitive, especially for such a good quality massage. Tamara is also flexible and allowed me to use Chase QuickPay, which was very convenient. I would most definitely recommend her and I will definitely be going back!

Her deep tissue massage therapy work is among the best I've ever experienced. She was able to both work out the knots in my shoulders, and she was also able to get to the root of my back problem (holding my large toddler incorrectly on one hip will need to change.) I know she can do the relaxing, Swedish type massage therapy also--but if you really need some serious body maintenance work done, Tamara can get it done. She was able to bring her table to my house, which was convenient. I think she'll come to Elmhurst locations with no additional fee--farther drives may have a fee. Pricing is competitive. Small discount for first time clients--see her web page for details.

This is the review I wish I had read…read more For anyone seeking care here--especially those healing from sexual trauma or past boundary violations--I hope these words offer clarity before stepping into a space you may not fully understand or consent to. The studio is a single-room space with one mattress, used for both massage sessions and the practitioner's personal living, sleeping, and intimate activities. There is no physical separation between professional and personal space. There is also no shower--only a bathroom sink used for bathing. This means clients receive bodywork on the same surface used for sleep and sex. These conditions were never disclosed to me beforehand. Had I known, I would not have consented. Later, I became aware that at least one other female client was also involved in a sexual dynamic with the practitioner. I personally witnessed an extended intimate interaction inside the studio, visible through the large storefront window. This reflects a concerning pattern of blurred lines between healing work, residential living, and intimacy. Despite the relief I experienced physically, I ultimately left in more trauma than when I arrived--due to a total lack of professional containment, boundaries, and ethical clarity. I share this not out of malice, but out of responsibility. I personally would not have consented to therapeutic care here had I known more about the environment, the interpersonal dynamics, or the practitioner's ethical practices.

I've been going for massages for a few years now, and I've come across two fantastic therapists and…read moreone who was godawful. Laura with IPHM is one of the fantastic ones. I've been seeing her for weekly massages three weeks in a row now. The most important thing I look for when I'm looking to book a massage is that the therapist will listen to me. I'm not going for fluff massages, I have lumbar problems and am looking to release tight muscles... these things are painful, and I need to feel confident that my therapist will listen when I start yelping in pain and know how to handle it. Every time I've been in for a massage we've found a pain point and she responds immediately to my pain levels to correct the issue at a level I can manage. Laura is a great listener, and completely tailors your time to your needs. We always start a session by talking about where I'm feeling the most pain, and where I feel I would like her to concentrate. We do some stretch work that she's shown me (showing just how dedicated she is to making sure I am taken care of, going beyond just massage), then move into the massage. I love that she goes out of her way to explain every single thing I have a question on, and so far has brought something completely new to the table EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. That's above and beyond to me. From stretches to ideas on how I can relax at work and work on my muscles at home by myself, to using products that are all natural (and smell FANTASTIC), she's always performing at 150%. She follows up via email midweek to see how I'm doing, checking in to see when the soreness/pain is returning and where, so she can be ready with what we're going to do the next week. I have no intentions of looking elsewhere for a massage therapist. I've already made appointments for my family members. I just came home from a massage with her and it's amazing how much better I feel. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a massage!
