Talk about a fun evening. This was it. My husband and I along with another couple ordered tickets, not really knowing what to expect. The information that I read said it was in a room at the Hilton on market street Free parking in the garage, have your ticket stamped by the event. (Without free parking it would have cost $40) You meet a very nice, organized representative in the lobby and all go in together. They don't serve drinks or food but it is available and you can take it in The minute the door closes you are in for fun and amazement! Everyone gets involved one way or another without embarrassment. It is the kind of act that could be in Las Vegas. They call it mind boggling with humor. It is. I won't tell you more because I don't want to ruin for you. Take my word you will love it!

Fantastic show! Chris and Catalina are very talented entertainers. They have the best chemistry as spouses and that works to favor their act. The show is funny, clever and will likely bring out the best belly laughs you've had in a while. Catch them if you're in Indianapolis! So much fun - thank you for hosting our group tonight.

This was my second time seeing the show, it's one of my favorite things in Indy! Christian and Katalina are so funny, engaging and talented. Everyone in the audience laughed throughout and was amazed with the show. The show ran about 75 minutes without an intermission which felt like a perfect amount of time. Lots of content but kept us wanting more. We had so much fun!

My sister up on stage with the dynamic duo that makes up "The Mind Tripping Show"!

A must see on your visit to Indy. I had seen the show with a corporate event & when my family came to town for my birthday, they told me what they had planned - The Mind Tripping Show. Though I had seen it before, it was different and I still had an amazing time and laughed very hard. My family was skeptical (I hadn't told them anything about the show) & tried to figure it out - but they had their minds blown! They can't stop talking about it! From ages 28 to 62 - it was a great show. The seating at the Hilton is cozy so you won't miss a thing and may just get called up (my sister did!) to be a part of the show. Note: Doors are closed and locked at showtime (8:30 for us) so be sure to get there early so you don't miss the show!!

I have seen at least eight much, much more expensive magic/comedy-magic shows in Vegas (Penn & Teller, Siegfried & Roy, Copperfield, Lance Burton, Steve Wyrick, Mac King, Mike Hammer, Amazing Jonathan, etc.) and this show is quite comparable to those and, indeed, better than some of those. The chemistry between these two is solid. The magic/illusions are world class. The comedy and improvisation are honed from years and years of practice and shows. These two are pros. The five star reviews here are legit. The $25 per ticket with free parking at the Hilton is so low it's unworthy of such a high quality show.

The buffet dinner is always great and we added an adult beverage (mine was the Hurricane..yum ), and we both had dessert..one carrot cake and one cheesecake. We sat at the tip top area up the stairs. We loved these seats because we faced forward and didn't have to scoot chairs. We already have plans for using more of our gift certificate (Holiday Inn) and may take a daughter and granddaughter to see Cinderella.

Phoenix Theater is in the heart of downtown and this being my first visit I was amazed by the contemporary building which wasn't too huge but just the right size where we enjoyed a 2 hours long show around some really impactful issues in the world. The space seems to be non profit driven and built going by the donations wall and it's kept really clean and spotless. The staff is very friendly and they maneuvered effortlessly through the show. I saw people from all parts of the world, and professions attend the show and had invigorating conversations in the end. A not-for-profit theatre started 38 years ago by Bryan Fonseca, one of Indy's true theatre legends who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic, Phoenix Theatre has always been at the cutting edge of Indy's contemporary theatre scene. Phoenix Theatre actually kicked off the year I graduated from high school (If you say anything about my age, I will hunt you down). It's original home was at 749 N. Park Avenue in a 1907 church where the not so legendary, but certainly infamous, Jim Jones once preached. In May 2018, the Phoenix Theatre moved into its new digs at 705 N. Illinois in what is accurately known as the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre. The Phoenix Theatre champions what they call IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) for all. While they worked hard to make their old space accessible, the truth is a 1907 building would never be completely accessible and the new space is a major improvement. Phoenix is a member of the National New Play Network and League of Indianapolis Theatres. It produces around 10-12 plays/shows per year and now also offers its spaces for rental. Spaces include the Christel DeHaan Grand Lobby, Odyssey Room, Multi-Purpose Room, Basile Stage, Russell Theatre, and the outdoor Park at the Phoenix. While I wouldn't quite say rental fees are "affordable," they are quite reasonable. Phoenix really stressed accessibility with its new location. The building itself is described as completely ADA accessible. The third Sunday of each show offers an ASL interpreter and blind/low-vision services. The website even includes information on public transportation and IndyGo (Indy's accessible bus service that is fairly pathetic but better than nothing). While they do address accessibility on their website, I would encourage them to be more open about seating options for wheelchair users and those with mobility impairments (It's not bad, but being up front helps people plan better). Phoenix does have its own parking lot, somewhat of a rarity downtown, and there's also metered parking around it. Phoenix does lean toward contemporary and often progressive stage productions. There are gender-neutral bathrooms and it's not uncommon to see stage productions across a variety of topics. This ain't your Grandma's Sunday School stage performances - this is thought-provoking, challenging, and culturally aware live theatre that truly lives into the Phoenix's IDEA. I now drive by Phoenix every day on my way home from work. I smile each and every time. It's a marvelous theatre and a true icon that has survived on the Indy scene for nearly four decades. While others have come and gone, the Phoenix survives and thrives even through having to adapt during the pandemic. There are certain Indianapolis theatres that I consider "must see." The Phoenix is undeniably one of them.

Not to mention, this space has a refreshment booth, which is always a plus. You've gotta appreciate these smaller performance spaces because it keeps the show more intimate with the audience, as well as getting the community involved in local theatre. I cannot stress enought how important it is for us to support that which makes our city special - the arts especially. I'm a huge advocate of small businesses and local artists, so forgive me if I sound huffy-puffy when I say GO RIGHT NOW! See some indie show that will probably never be seen again because some guy wrote it in his car because he needed the money for gas. You won't regret it! And even if you do regret it, you'll still walk away with a different point of view. That's the beauty of theatre!

The Main Stage offers auditorium style seating. Stage 2 is more of an intimate setting that is primarily made up of four top tables and higher bar top seating. In both cases, if you want to feel as if your on stage, the front row will but you extremely close to the action. There is a small concession stand that offers drinks, including beer and wine, and snacks for cash prior to entering. Tips to keep in mind: **Seating for both stages is first come first serve, so make sure to arrive early if you wish to have all of your party sitting together. ***The main restroom is down a flight of stairs. They do have a single restroom on the top level near the main stage; however, it may or may not have a "Cast" sign **If you don't have time to visit their box office, they do use Vendini online ticketing, which will charge you a small fee. ***Parking - It's Mass Ave, so parking can be hard to come by. Factor extra time in when planning to arrive in time for shows ***If you tend to go to a lot of their shows, they usually offer a flex pass at the start of the season that is a good option.
