Such a great place! I've only been here a couple of times, but each visit has been a blast. I appreciate that it's overall pretty clean, including the restrooms. They have a bar and a few tables you can use, but your tab in that area doesn't apply in the show room. Depending on where you're seated, you could end up pretty close to another table. The last time I was here, we never recieved an entree we ordered - so we figured our server just forgot to ring it in. It turned out fine since we had a couple of appetizers to snack on. I guess it worked out in our favor, as we didn't have to worry about meeting the two item minimum per person! I've been to Helium three times now. It's in the heart of downtown on Georgia Street. Arrive early if there's a concert or sporting event (which is likely as it's right next to Gainbridge Field-house, Lucas Oil and the Convention Center). You can sometimes find street parking or something at the Circle Center Mall. The venue doesn't seem new and very well maintained. Some of the chairs are falling apart and it doesn't seem super clean. It is a comedy club though so not exactly there for the ambiance. My first time was to see Comedienne Sarah Sherman, then my first ever Drag Brunch which was Wicked Themed and incredible. Last Sunday I saw the Heated Rivalry Drag Brunch and am strongly considering retuning for Y2K one next month. The service can be hit or miss. The way the food is presented is inconsistent. Sometimes you get mimosa served in a Bud Light bucket other times you get a carafe. I had food served in a plastic container while others had actual plates. The prices for food & drinks are reasonable but there is a 2 item minimum purchase per person in addition to the tickets. I was sad to have missed Michael Che recently but Kevin Smith who directed Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob etc will be there soon. They do get some pretty good talent at Helium. There's no other place like the Helium in the city, where you can find local up-and-comers to SNL cast members. Their venue is split between two spaces, the main room and the upstairs. There is no elevator to the upper venue, so keep this in mind. The nearest parking is the Circle City Mall Blue Garage, which is usually affordable but they will often have event rates for it. Upon entry, they do a security and ID check, so make sure to bring a smaller bag and have everything else ready (keys out of pockets, ID in hand). I don't know for certain that they have a bag size limit but it makes security clearance smoother when you have a smaller bag. There is a bar in front of each venue where you can hang out before you're seated. There is a 2 item minimum for the showrooms and items ordered at the bars do not count towards this. If you don't want to order two items, I have heard they charge a $6 "non item" to meet this requirement for you. I think it's better to have the items anyway, because they have some good food there. My service can be hit or miss here, depending on the crowd size. However, my most recent visit was disappointing because we were the very first people in the main room and our server had not checked on us in over 30 minutes after we got our drinks, and then it was over 30 minutes again before we got our food. Like there were people who were already done with their food before we had a chance to order. The staff are always friendly though. I was just getting rather hangry about it. I'll definitely be back here eventually, but this is more of the occasional outing all costs considered. read more

My friend and I came here for the first time and had a good time! We parked at the garage in the mall that connects to Helium. They do a small security check for ID and purses. They seat you first come, first serve unless you booked a reserved seat. We ended up with good seats. Our server was nice but very busy. They have a two item minimum once sat in the showroom so I got a Coke and a burger. The food was just ok. I wish the club let you take at least a few photos of the acts but they do not allow that. Now that Crackers has officially closed, I'm glad there is still a place downtown for comedy shows! Getting into the venue was MESSY. We arrived nearly an hour early and were still late getting inside. You will be waiting inside the mall, so at least it is indoors and you are not standing in the cold or the heat depending on the time of the year. Also, it was possible it was just a big headliner that caused the traffic issues? The will call process was literally a sheet of paper and was glacially slow. Hopefully they do more virtual tickets in the future. The food you order comes out quickly -- shout out to the kitchen! They are on top of their game. The food and drinks are overpriced, but understandably the business needs to charge a certain amount to stay afloat. If you are in the "upstairs" room, please note it is VERY cozy. If you are claustrophobic, it might not be for you. The front row was literally on stage. Also, the stairs to get to the upstairs room are slightly treacherous -- watch your step! read more

This has been the first time I've been to a stand up comedy show at Helium Comedy Club. I saw funnyman Mike Jones as an opener for Godfrey. The opener was absolutely funny. He connected well with the audience an the laughs came organically. Then there's the headliner. As I've enjoyed watching him act in the movie Soul Plane and listening to his podcast but I have never seen his standup. I would say that he's a required taste. He's an impersonator at best. At my last visit there were two guys talking loudly during the show and they were removed. I was grateful because the experience was being ruined for me as I couldn't hear the comedian. My first visit here was to see Josh Johnson and even so I arrived around the time the doors opened, the line was forever long already. Wow. There check in was a bit on the slow side, with ALL tickets having to be found manually. Once I got my ticket, I checked in with the host, who decides where you get to sit and then someone escorts you to your table. Be aware that it's gonna be tight. Tiny tables and lots of people. Waitstaff came quickly once I was seated. And my order arrived very fast also. My Barbie cocktail was on the weak side, but still delicious. Be aware that any purchases at the bar do NOT count towards your 2 item minimum. I had ordered just the chips and salsa and also some queso with that. That was just meh as far as taste goes. Their seats are spacious and the tables aren't too close together like some other comedy clubs. Our waitress was very nice, but the service was slow. I know many people show up at different times which ends up clogging up the bar and kitchen. We ordered cocktails at the beginning of the show and beer in the middle. The beer was a little flat. Then we ordered fries in the middle of the show and they came out in less than 2 minutes and we're old and soft. I was disappointed that we just got the leftovers from the start of the show. This place was so much fun! We were attending something called Indiana's funniest. A Comedy competition of amateurs, Where we got to listen to about 10 or 11 comedians and then put them in order of how we thought they did. Three of them would then go on into the semi finals for an opportunity to win money. A great place - really nice and clean right there at Circle Center mall they weren't overly expensive and food was pretty decent for bar food. Service was really slow, but I would think it all happens at one time after they allow everybody to come in and take all their orders at the same time. We didn't get our food and drinks until probably halfway through the show. But it was good and we really had a great time, the crowd was fun and the comedy was good. First time at Helium, the line getting in moved really quickly, i liked how organized seating was however the server... horriibleeee.. i understand being busy but its to the point you'd think it was his first night on a busy night. Long story short you are forced to buy 2 items during the show food/drink which I can accept. The worst thing about this place is the food is awful. The worst food I have ever eaten at a bar/restaurant ever without exaggeration. It's the standard menu of bar food but imagine the quality of a middle school or kids baseball concession stand. Like even worse than high school, like at least there is food kind of quality. All microwaved but surely you reading this could microwave it better at home. When you order the burger, they don't ask how you want it cooked. Then I received the burger and it's the cheapest bun they could find with the cheapest single dry patty. No big deal if the burger costed like $5 but I think it costed $15 which is nuts. All of that would be ok if the show went well but it did not. The headliner comedian cancelled and they pretended like they notified us prior to the day but they didn't. The other comedians who were going to perform were stuck in traffic. The show started an hour after it was supposed to and again it would be no big deal if it was just an hour but it was an hour and a half because they require you to come 30 minutes early. Why put all these inconveniences on the audience if you guys offer a horrible product? read more

I was called a cracker and smashed to the g and then antagonised by a hipster skinny white guy with a pedo stache. without his multiple black security he had them all mad at me for using terminology that is race and ethnic appropriation for me. I was physically assaulted for asking if I could please buy merch. the comedian was fun as always and the staff took everything way too seriously and used the fact that there is a drink minimum to their advantag. We had so much fun at Helium Comedy Club! It was really nice inside the theater and in the lounge. Facilities were very clean. All of the staff were really nice. We didn't try any food but saw what was being served around us and it looked pretty good. We got some drinks. I honestly thought the drinks were going to be more expensive. They were still on the pricier side but not outrageous. Between 2 people I'd expect to spend at least $50 to get your 2 item minimum per person. They have signs posted all around letting you know that drinks purchase before the show in the lounge do not count on your 2 item minimum. I just appreciated that this was made we'll known. Had a great time at Helium Comedy Club! We were going to see Anthony Jeselnik and had general admission tickets. We got there an hour before the show started and a small line had already formed. We got be seated around 40 minutes before the show started. If you have general admission, you are a seated in the back level, but still such good seats and slightly elevated so no blockages to seeing the screen. The club workers will seat you at best available in the GA section. You can pay more for Reserved seating in the front and it is still based on when you arrive to get the beat seat in that front section. But GA seats were great, and I would just do GA again in the future. There is a two item minimum per person in the comedy club area once seated. So if you get a drink outside the club at the bar, it doesn't count! You have to get two items (food drink) inside the club. The chips and queso were pretty cheap and good! Chicken fingers and fries fairly average but tasty! A waiter comes around to your tables before and during the show. They cash you out before the show ends so you can leave right when it's over. I attended my first comedy show at helium tonight. First and foremost the show was amazing, the openers were hilarious, and the main event was even better. The one thing I will say that stood out to me was the management here. I accidentally bought tickets for the Friday show, and didn't even realize that was my brother's birthday and the management let me move it to Saturday. Well, I'm a server and my job scheduled me for Saturday so I reached out to the Helium management and let them know the issue, and first they responded so fast, second they let me move it to the Sunday show. I've always gone to Summit city Comedy Club, which is in Fort Wayne, so I thought I would give the helium club a try and I will be coming back! The only thing I thought maybe could've been a little bit better, was our server came around and took drink orders when we sat down, but then he didn't come back until last call, but I got my second drink, so it was okay! I posted this on Google as well, but I just wanted to make sure they saw how much I appreciate their management. I would definitely suggest to get the reserved seating, we were right in the first row. read more

On April 13,2024 my wife and I attended the 730pm show at the Helium with Maddy Smith being the headliner. Maddy Smight was absolutely freaking Hilarious! The host Nate Plus the two opening acts were such a good time. They were all so damn funny! We walked out of that place with our guts hurting from laughing so much! Two drink minimum no trouble because I drank through about 5 cocktails on the cocktail menu. I may or may not have been feeling a little extra good as we left but No harm/ No foul as our hotel was 5 minute walk. My wife's super power is getting us awesome seats and somehow we managed to get seats right up by the stage and every entertainer made a few comments to us. I didn't love how tight the space was, especially when trying to share the extremely small tables with strangers but the service was excellent. We got a couple drinks at the bar. Neither of us loved our cocktails (from their specialty menu), watery and odd combos of flavors. However the ease of getting in and getting to our seats was convenient and we enjoyed our time. This place was amazing. I have been following them on Twitter waiting to see a name I recognized come to town and it finally happened- during covid. This made me a little nervous, but it was actually an amazing experience, and they make you feel very safe. You have to buy tickets by the table. We had 4 people going so we bought tickets for a table for 4 for a reasonable price. Remember that on top of that you do have a 2 item per person minimum either food or drink, but I was very surprised at how reasonable their food and drinks were. I was expecting much worse, but it was cheaper than even some of the bars downtown. We saw a big headliner comedian- Brian Regan- who usually tours at stadiums. Instead there were maybe 25-30 of us sitting in a medium sized room. We were maybe 10 feet away from the stage and there was only one other table behind us. It was awesome! The tables are spread 6 feet apart, and they only fill half of the tables, the rest are sectioned off. All the drinks are in disposable cups. The waitstaff and other staff were wearing masks, and it was required to wear yours when you were not at your table.
