This is my second time at Mina spa and boy they did not disappoint. I showed the nail tech a reference photo, which I've attached and the photo of my nails afterwards. There were a few times that I asked her for some changes in the white part of the design and was incredibly patient with my constant asking for certain changes. I realize that the reference photo is different than my actual nails but I am still happy with I got in the end. I got gel extensions and wanted the shape but not the long length of nails like in the reference photo as I still need to do things with my hands. In total with the gel extensions and the custom nail art it came out to $100 without tip (and of course I tipped) and about 3 hours in the chair. I love my nails and will absolutely come back for more Halloween type nails. read more

This was my first post SIP pedicure. I thought I'd give some love to the newest salon in the hood. There were some pluses but also more minuses for me. The positive: it's bright and clean and they do a stellar job with basic polish. They also gave me some tea to sip on. Nice touch. The negative: no massage chairs! I could've maybe gotten past it if the chairs they did have weren't the most uncomfortable things I've sat in lately. Really awful. Leg/foot massage was mediocre. They also didn't offer a paraffin dip (which several places include in their basic spa pedicure) For me, a pedicure is about treating myself once in awhile. I didn't feel like I got the overall experience I was hoping for here. For $28 it was lacking. read more

My first time visiting this place. Way overpriced for the service provided . They have no massage chairs either. I got the nail dip . The job was horrible . My nails came out lumpy and uneven. The nail paint chipped by the time I finished washing the dishes. I'm never coming back here again. Plus a karen patron was there telling me I needed to take my phone off speaker as I was talking to my son. Which was none of her business. Am very sorry to say that I'm not going there again. I contacted them to make an appointment on the same-day. I went in & was the only person in the salon, which is probably due to people's nervousness about going out. What you should know is that this place is very clean & they sanitize/wipe down all equipment + seating (the cushions are covered with plastic so they can easily wipe it down - also the plastic was not uncomfortable to sit on). They are very welcoming + kind. I love, love, love my nails. I got a gel manicure a week ago... & it looks just as perfect as when I got it done. While I'm not sure what prices people are expecting to pay, but if you're getting services in San Francisco (especially at a convenient location like this), you should expect to pay premium. Mina Spa's prices are fair & pretty comparable (if not the same) as other salons in San Francisco, so please don't let that deter you from trying this place out! MinaS or Linda" I want to clarify that I never had any issues with Mina Spa prior to 2021. When the ownership changed in 2021 that's when I began to experience a major down grade in etiquette and customer service. With that said, it may not be fair say the owner has racist behaviors but the Mins Spa. Instead of getting defensive you should have asked what racist behaviors Ive experienced in your establishment and if there's anything you can do to eradicate such behaviors moving forward. I can list a few micro-aggressions based on stereotypes, racist ideologies, and ignorance that I experienced in your shop and shrugged off as banter/small talk. In your establishment I've been asked the following which comes off as micro-aggressive: Do I live around here and if so where? What do I do for a living? Pointing out in front of the entire shop about the total costs of my services and if I'll be able to pay for them. I've witnessed one of your techs ask my black pregnant friend if she was married. Ive seen you tell women of color that you're too busy to provide services but when a non person of color walks in without an appointment they're able to wait 10 - 20 minutes before being seated. I've had to remind tech to apply services that come with the mani/pedi - ie giving me the stones, the exfoliating scrub, and a hot towel. As a PAYING customer im comfortable with politely telling you if I don't like something. I never got indignant with anyone at your establishment. If I don't like something take it as feedback to correct it not as stress. The pedicures to me have gone down - you won't air clip my cuticles and spray oil and alcohol on my feet calling it a pedicure. read more

Initially I was referred by a friend who is extremely particular true to myself. The second time I reached out via Yelp for an appt and decided to give Mina Spa a second go 'round. They lived up to the referral and so much more. With COVID-19 safety guidelines + general salon sanitation + good technical skills and customer service = an excellent experience. I used to go to five star nails here for many years. I'm so pleased with Mina Spa. My friend and I came for mani/pedis (lockdown is starting tomorrow night!) and the environment felt very safe and the ladies were so nice and did a wonderful job. Best customer service at all time. Provided water and tea. Clean and nice design spa. There is a huge variety of colors to choose from. I recommend the luxury pedicure pack, which included 6 steps: spa soak, cleanser, sugar scrub, mask, massage, and moisturize. That was the best experience after a stressful day at work. I tried this salon for the first time last Saturday. Everyone who did my Deluxe/Mina mani/pedi and Gel mani/pedi did an amazing job from the arm and leg scrub to the cuticle refining and the flawless gel application. They were really responsive to any feedback along the way and so friendly. They even offered a beverage at the beginning. Although I had scheduled my appointment as a bit of an afterthought and I was new to this salon, I'm really glad I came here for my pre-wedding pamper. My nails looked amazing and I felt really good walking out. I even had them wax my arms. I may add a photo later if my photographer got any good pics. I'm definitely returning here. This is my second time trying to give this place a try. And for the second time they didn't reach the bar. Came in for a gel pedicure and although the place is nice the service is trash and a rip off. They come out with personal bins of Luke warm water and call it a pedicure and then charge 60 dollars for it. I had to ask my person to make my toes square at least 3 times and they still came out round . I would only recommend this place for a color change if that read more

I came in for a gel mani and this place was so cute and clean! They offered tea and water, and had some sort of aromatherapy neck pillow that was super relaxing. The gel color selection is great and from what I saw they used mostly OPI. They did a fantastic job on my nails and listened to all my requests. I paid $32 for my gel mani (which may have been a promotional price, not sure). Definitely would come back again! read more

Although Mina's doesn't have some of the frills of other nail salons (massage chairs, mechanized foot baths, etc), I received the best, most meticulous manicure and pedicure I've ever had in my life. The nail technician was precise and took her time perfecting my nails (and also with the hand and foot massages). What's more, everyone I spoke to was very warm and gracious; it was just a pleasure to visit this salon. I will come back here as long as I live in San Francisco. read more

The place is super cute and very clean. They are right by bart so really convenient. They have very good products. I went in and asked if they did dip. I was told they did but after they started they said they didn't have the dip colors and would just do dip clear and then gel on top. It took a really long time and my finger was bleeding at one point. Aside from all of this they did a very good job with the manicure and i love it. I would normally go back since nothing horrible happened but it is very expensive compared to places in the city I've been before. If it was priced decently i would return or maybe i was charged for the dip and gel and that's why it was so expensive but if that's the case they should have informed me before they started the manicure. read more

I went into Mina for a wax and, although the staff was very friendly, I was really dissatisfied with the wax service I received, will not return and do not recommend them for waxing at all. Pono, down the street, is higher end, more thorough and (shockingly) cheaper! I won't be specific about body parts because this is a public post, but I have been getting several areas waxed since I was 14 and usually go to estheticians/skin spas as opposed to nail salons. I am used to paying a little more to ensure I am going to receive a hygienic and comfortable experience. I decided to try Mina because they just opened and the shop appeared to be very clean. During the wax, the woman asked me if I wanted a certain area done and I said "yes, if you see hair, I want it off" and she said "this is an extension, it's $10 extra". I was like ok because I certainly wasn't going to leave unfinished. At another point, I asked her to go further in an area and she again said it was an "extension" and would "cost more" and I again said fine. At the end of the service, I didn't check for thoroughness because the service took longer than I have ever experienced and I had been up charged twice so I assumed I was going to be bare as a newborn(spoiler: I was wrong). I went to pay and was absolutely floored at how expensive the service was. This service would normally be $45 in a nail salon, and down the street at Pono (a high end skin center which I very much recommend) costs $55 and at BBwax (an extremely popular, specialized FiDi wax center) is $60. MINA CHARGED $76!!! Ok so this was shocking and completely off-putting, but I didn't worry about it too much. Until I got home and realized the waxer had totally missed areas!!! There were areas with sparse hairs missed and areas where she completely missed entire sections. What's more is that for the areas she actually waxed, she clearly didn't wax properly because a couple days later the hair grew back in (which indicates that she didn't pull the wax off correctly and broke the hairs instead of removing the root). I emailed Mina to find out if the price they charged me was truly correct and they verified that it was. I understand that the cost of rent must be unbelievable and they need to pay that somehow, but you can't nickel and dime people AND be un-thorough, it's one or the other! I have received waxes where the esthetician was inexperienced and ripped my skin (cough cough European Wax Center) and that is the only wax experience I would consider to be worse than the one I received at Mina. I now have to go find a place that would be possibly wiling to just clean up what Mina missed and hopefully not charge me the entire cost of the new service... read more

I don't ever leave reviews but this place just opened literally right next to my apartment so decided to check it out. A *relaxing* nail salon where you don't feel rushed is so needed in the neighborhood! It was wonderful that the chairs were spread out and not jammed next to one another. It's such a welcoming, bright place with lovely ladies working there! When I got there, the owner was busy watering these orchids. You could tell she put a lot of care into remodeling the place. The service quality was fantastic and the place was so clean. Lastly, they offer wine, tea, water, etc. I absolutely love it when salons do that because it creates such a relaxing atmosphere (please don't change! rumour has it that Vietnamese coffee might be an option soon too :)). The only place I want to get my nails done! They are SO nice, so professional, and so friendly here. I come here at least once a month and have not once been disappointed. I love that I'm able to text them (and they know me by name!). By far the best nail salon in Glen Park. Stepped into this new cute looking spa in Glen Park with my friend. We both got a manicure and pedicure done by Kim at a discounted price (they have off on all their services for the whole month so do take advantage of that!). The whole team is very sweet and welcoming. It was past 7pm which is their closing time but still they didn't rush to finish up our nails and made sure they were dry and perfect before we left. They even offered refreshments when we walked in. Overall nice friendly vibes, clean and pretty decor. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants their nails done at an affordable price.
