I Once had a nail tech who wasn't my regular, she was incredibly rude. When I mentioned it to the owner she told me that many customers complain about her but because she's a senior, I should understand. When I was leaving I truthfully just forgot to tip her, honestly I always tip no matter what. All of the staff stopped me before I could leave to ask where her tip was!!! Which in my option is a little nervy.I promise even though she was very rude it was just an oversight. They know I always tip! They actually made a scene of it. One of the owners is constantly screaming across the room while you're trying to have a relaxing service. Taking phone calls while doing your nails and stops working on you to talk or write down appointments. They even have convos over your head while you're having a massage in the curtained off massage area meant for quietness. Been going to this place for years! I'm over it! read more

Beautiful, modern and clean in the inside. Ambiance is so nice and upscale. They do a good job but the wait is always ridiculously long even when you have an appointment. I made an appointment with a friend and I had to wait an extra half hour once my friend was seated. The waiting area is usually packed so it can get a bit loud. The workers are talented and nice, love that they have a uniform. However, I likely will be going to a different local place with better wait times & that is less crowded. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I went to get a pedicure and my acrylic nails taken off. I sat in the pedicure chair waiting for 30 minutes for an employee to start my pedicure, after they said they could take me. Then when an employee finally came over to help me he asked if I was getting my acrylic nails redone there. I said no. After that, the employee walked away and did not start my pedicure or start putting the foil on my nails. After 40 minutes of sitting there I just left. Such a waste of my time. read more

Having avoided a manicure at Mimosa for the last year because of a hand injury and concerns of cross contamination. I was speechless when the nail tech opened a new envelope of tools and only used the cuticle depressor from the sanitized pack. She then attempted to to use a dirty cuticle cutter that that was on her desk with a rubber band wrapped around the handle and visibly had debris on it she wiped with a paper towel square. I politely told her not to cut my cuticles let her paint my nails and went on my way. read more

I've been here a handful of times and the first two times was a great experience. However every time after that is less than favorable. I had an appointment for a fill in and was rushed. So much so that my nails started to get lifts while sitting in the pedicure chair. I figured they're just busy and give it one more shot. I made my appointment for next time while I was there. Fast forward to that next appointment and they had me waiting for a half an hour. So, when I finally did sit in the chair there wasn't enough time to do the service I wanted. Oh! And someone else walked in and had an appointment at the same time with the person I also had an appointment with. They are not well organized and keep double booking the person I make an appointment with. I'm not sure if this is happening to just me, or others as well. My comment isn't about their service just the atmosphere... I have walked into their salon and have been shaken up since. First a person was standing outside in the rain and looked at me with utter confusion as to why I was there until my friend came out of my car with me (who was white) Furthermore, when I entered the store every customer and staff stopped what they were doing in utter confusion as to why I was entering their establishment and not briefly like we all do, they waited for my entire transaction to end. You honestly would have guessed I came in with some aggression or a complaint. I've been a customer of this salon for years now- but I had a terrible experience today. After making an appointment for a manicure and pedicure and reiterating that multiple times to them when I came in, Helen took me and did my pedicure and when I mentioned the manicure said "You told me you were only getting a pedicure!" I politely told her I'm also getting a manicure, and she sat me down and was quite clearly talking to all of the other workers about me and was angrily doing my nails. Finally another sweet woman came over and did the rest of my nails after hearing Helen huffing and puffing. When it was time to leave I tipped the woman who did my manicure and went to walk out, but was stopped by Helen who was insisting that I tip her. In front of the entire salon. I have been a customer of this nail salon for years now. My mother and I have constantly gone to get our nails done. The main reason why we keep coming back after numerous visits of unsatisfactory service is because of their cleanliness and salon atmosphere. It's very hard to find a nail salon that is clean and looks nice inside (which is important to me) However, after giving them 3 strikes, I am done. About 3 years ago I was getting eyelash extensions done by them. They brought me to the back room, laid me down and started tapping my eyelids and beginning the service. The woman doing my eyelashes got paged by another worker for help of some kind. I was left alone in the room with my eyelids shut for 45 minutes. During my time alone with my eyelids shut I had my earbuds in trying to listen to music. I meant to adjust the volume by clicking the side of my phone 5 times but because I couldn't open my eyes to see what I was doing I accidentally called 911 by hitting the emergency button on the side of my phone. Granted this is not their fault that I accidentally called the police but I was alone with my eyelids shut for 45 minutes waiting for the girl to come back to finish my eyelash extensions! Had I been able to sit comfortably and open my eyes for 45 minutes 911 would have never been called. I decided to keep coming back but only for my nails because of their cleanliness. More recently, Mary who I believe is the owner was doing my nails. Mary is often so busy running around answering the phone, booking appointments while attending to the clients in front of her. This is a terrible operation. She cannot do two things at once, she needs someone to answer the phone and book appointments so that Mary can focus on the client in front of her. This causes more time in the salon for the client because every time she books an appointment she has to stop what she's doing often repeating steps in the nail process. My nails always come out horrible when she does them. She doesn't take the time to file the acrylic nail bed leaving the surface bumpy and not well shaped. Second, when she removes acrylic she takes an old metro card and pries it open from underneath leaving me in pain, the less painful solution here would be soaking my nails in nail polish remover until the acrylic disintegrates (but she has no time for that). Finally, today I went in for a full set of acrylics with the UV gel in French. Selina, doing my nails did not understand what I wanted, I have had Selina do my nails before asking for the UV gel and she keeps telling me they don't do that here when I've had UV gel here for years! Selina seems to have a very hard time understanding clients needs and the English language. After having a very hard time understanding her and her understanding me, another worker came over to translate to her what I wanted. She proceeded with the UV gel process. Today Selina couldn't understand that I wanted acrylic with the UV gel in French. After she attempted talking to me about it I could not understand one word she was saying. I repeated what I wanted to her which was the full set of acrylic with the UV Gel in French, half way into the process of her doing my nails I'm realizing she's giving me permanent French which was not what I wanted. I knew if I spoke up she still wouldn't understand me so I just kept quiet. She put my nails under the Uv light causing a burning sensation on my nails which I never felt before, after saying how painful it was she mumbled something I'm not sure what she said but I was on the verge of tears. After noticing the progress of my nails she had made the white line on the French tip too thick for my liking. I had asked her to make the nails shorter in order to make the white line less thick. She whipped out her nail drill in anger and filed down my nails. She was unhappy that I spoke up. My nails are poorly shaped and not what I asked for at all. I am done with Mimosa I gave them so many chances but third times the charm. Good luck to them! read more

When I left to leave Jenni literally grabbed my arm to get me to stay and said she could take me now. This has been my regular nail salon for a few years and for the most part, it's good. I've gone to a few other places in between but always end up back here because they usually do a really nice job. A few annoyances I have sometimes are that when you make an appointment, you usually still have to wait a while (once I made an appt with my mom, she got taken right away and I had to wait literally another half hour. She was basically done before I was even taken), when you make an appt for 2 they don't usually sit you together or take you the same time which is frustrating. Also, if you get the owner it'll take twice as long because she's constantly taking the phone calls, booking appts, and everything in between. So, I keep coming back because they make my nails look really nice and I guess overall it's worth it, but a few inconveniences with this place definitely. read more

Made an appointment to get my acrylics taken off. The process began but then the nail tech walked away and I didn't see him for 40 minutes...my fingers began to finally burn with the solution on and I asked someone else to take them off because I had work and had to be somewhere. If I did not ask anyone I don't think I would've been seen my first nail tech for another 20 minutes. I still did not see him even as I left. I paid $65 for the set and expected them to take off my nails in a nice manner since they were so expensive. The procedure of removing them was painful and a credit card was used to take them off which I could've just done at home. They have horrible service and don't care about you. I had one ok and one not great experience here. I think it does depend a lot on who does your nails. There are a ton of nail techs here, but I wasn't thrilled with the treatment of my nails either of the times I came. The first time I came in, I had a gel manicure and there was just too much polish piled on. It was soo thick (I have had many gels before as comparison). The second time I came in for a regular manicure and they had to remove the old gel. They did a really bad job removing it and then the new manicure looked bumpy and not good. The place is very popular so I guess others have had better experiences. read more

By far my favorite nail salon that i've ever been to, it's so clean and you can tell that everyone there really takes pride in their job. I've never had an issue with any of my gel manicures, they always last the full 2 weeks without any chipping. My own fault...went on a Saturday morning and DID NOT make an appointment and had to wait about 45 minutes. But man it was worth the wait because my pedicure and my gel manicure came out amazing. I am super particular about my gel color matching my toes (colors stress me out) but Summer did an amazing job making sure the colors matched. My gel nails lasted for over 3 weeks. Longest ever.
