The younger receptionist first told me that I couldn't use it toward their BOGO special. I questioned this since the gift certificate was purchased directly from their website. When I asked if they could credit my husband instead, she eventually agreed that I could use it, but only if I paid the full price for the Glow Facial rather than receiving the advertised $30 discount. The Glow Facial was recommended by the receptionist when I specifically asked which treatment would help clear out my pores. Unfortunately, I later felt that this wasn't the most suitable treatment for what I was looking for. The older receptionist was initially pleasant, but her attitude seemed to change after I shared my honest feedback about the Glow Facial. I explained that the treatment felt more focused on massage than on the actual facial. She became defensive and noticeably less friendly, particularly when I mentioned that I would consider joining Alle when I returned to redeem my BOGO facial. The interaction felt uncomfortable, almost as though I was being tag-teamed, and it eventually led to me signing up for Alle. To be fair, the esthetician was very nice. However, I was disappointed with the treatment itself. The actual facial portion lasted only about 30 minutes, with the rest of the appointment focused on massage. When I spoke with the receptionist over the phone, I had specifically emphasized that I wanted a facial, but she never mentioned how much of the appointment would be dedicated to massage. I also acknowledge that I should have read the website more carefully, as it does state that massage is included. Another disappointment was that the website lists an eye treatment as part of the service, but I did not receive one during either of my visits. I also wasn't comfortable with the treatment room door being left open, as people walking through the hallway could potentially see inside. After the treatment, guests are escorted to a back room and offered water and snacks, although the snacks felt rather cheap and underwhelming compared with the overall experience I expected. Overall, while the esthetician was lovely, the experience fell short of my expectations in terms of customer service, transparency, and the treatment itself. I left feeling disappointed, especially given the confusion surrounding the gift certificate and the lack of certain advertised services. I don't think I'll be returning and will likely explore other spas that better meet my expectations.

You get your hair washed and treated (we both have balayages, so our hair is FRIED), a facial, and a head and neck massage! We're both dentists, so we were wishing the massage was a bit deeper, but that's all we really have to say. It was super relaxing since I was running on 3 hours of sleep. It's nice, quiet, and dark inside, and I felt my stress melt away. Afterwards, my friend and I were amazed at how soft and fluffy our hair was and she expressed that we gotta come back for the VIP experience next! We will definitely be back and were clamoring about making it a birthday tradition for each other from now on. My scalp feels great!

Might just be that I got a newbie or something but she was incredibly bad at her job. She'd never dry my ears properly leaving water and suds sitting in there for the entire time even after the service was finished. While shampooing she'd massage my neck and shoulders while her hands were full of hair product and shampoo suds, WHY?!! Hair products are NOT meant to be used on skin and she kept massaging it in and not washing it off leaving the hair product and suds just SITTING on my neck and shoulders for the majority of the service. Additionally she got water into my eyes MULTIPLE times and didn't even notice, would put a SOPPING wet towel over my eyes then run water right over it making me feel like it was a water boarding punishment, failed to dry me off properly at the end making me sit up resulting in water dripping down my back and getting my clothes wet. Then she gave me cotton swabs for me to clean my ears and when I went to try to throw it away after using it, she roughly pulled it out of my fingers so fast that the dirty cotton swabs touched my fingers leaving my ear wax on my own finger. Cherry on top she then shooed me off the chair after 5 mins of blow drying before my hair was fully dry, didn't even brush my hair until she saw me finger combing it myself. The only reason I gave more than one star is that Maybe the other head spa staff is better but I will never come back because of how bad mine was. Poor attention to detail is an understatement.

However, I asked the front desk and was told that these are going to be their regular temperatures moving forward because they had been cited by the health department for the rooms being too hot. I understand that they have to comply with health department requirements, but for someone who specifically comes here for the traditional Korean sauna experience, this completely changes the experience for me. If I'm going to a sauna, I expect to sweat. The LA weather outside honestly feels hotter than some of the sauna rooms now. It's unfortunate because iSpa used to be worth the hour-plus drive for me, and I genuinely loved coming here. I think they packaged a deal where you can get a scrub and a 30 min massage for just a tad more. For my first time scrub experience.. it was an experience for sure and you have to really love and be comfortable with your body. When you check in, you will receive your locker key, uniform, and can request for toothbrush and razor as needed. Next you put your shoes and then your belongings and strip down! The wet sauna area is FULL nude. And you'll see people walking around naked in the locker room. You will be required to shower before you get into the hot tubs or sauna rooms. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. You can bring your own as well! Compared to other spas i've gone to, the have a bar soap and some decent shampoos. I just think its weird to have a communal bar soaps around. I tried to find the soap bodywash. The hot tubs were soo relaxing as well as the steam rooms. I felt all more pores opening. There is also a cold plunge for those who like that. If you are doing a scrub they will call your number (your key number) and lead you to the scrubbing tables. They are separated stalls but its in an open room. There will be a korean aunty in a swimsuit that will instruct you to turn front back side to side as she starts scrubbing you. When you get to the point of no flacks given, life is so relaxing. I let aunty scrub me down and descale me like a fish and I watched all my dead skin melt off. I do have to say they get pretty close to the crotch area and also pretty close to your crack. It caught me by suprise as I didnt think they'd go there but they are respectful and will put a towel in your nether regions. But literally no area was not baby skin smooth afterwards. What also caught me by suprise was it also included a hair wash and a freshly grated cucumber facial. I left feeling so good and i dried off, uniformed and met my friends at the common area. Common room is really relaxing and "room temp" and then you can increase in temp with the different rooms they have. There is a relatively room temp room (bamboo) and a cold room (which i love, basically a freezer). You can order drinks and snacks to the common room via kiosk. When we got hungry, we had to exit through the front desk area and enter the restaurant. And again the best food i've ever had and drinks. We were 3 girls and ordered 2 things. Bossam and the galbitang and STUFFED was an understatement. We ate so much and had enough to take home. We went back to spa and came back for their bingsoo which was so good! Special shoutout to the rice water tea and the peach fruit tea. SO GOOD. Spa itself, I do wish some amenities are updated. But the restaurant is really the reason why I keep coming to this spa.

I think it was a ginger treatment. Did not get that the 2nd time so when I come back, will definitely request for that treatment again. The bar area with complimentary drinks is such a great touch and makes this place stand out. The facility is clean, peaceful, and spacious. I've been to other head spa businesses with the same price ranges and VN Beauty Spa is definitely one of my favorite.
