Got the sizzling beef rice and the poke. The sizzling beef was about 13$ and the portion are a little smaller than other sizzling plate but for that price I think it was worth it. The plate comes with sauce already poured on top and sprinkle with lots of garlic powder. The sauce were good but I was hoping it can be a little more flavored since I like my food saucy. Would give this a 9/10. Also got the house poke which was about 15$. The portion is a little small for this one. Not really a fan of this cause it was actually really spicy and the bonito flakes didn't go well with the poke. However the staff there did let us know after that we can write a note before we order to let them know to make it less spicy. It didn't feel right that there's carrot in this poke, feels more like a tuna salad instead of a poke. 6/10 This plaza has lots of parking! The location in the plaza is a little hard to find since it's like in the back and the signs are not visible from the front. I do love the staff here since they listen to your reviews and are really quick and tentative. This place is great! Finally a good alternative to Pepper Lunch which went down in quality after COVID. We tried the curry chicken katsou and sizzling beef. The curry from the katsuo tastes authentic and balance. The chicken katsuo has a good meat to batter ratio, so you're not just eating batter. The beef has good flavor to it and is not too chewy. I think they messed up my order because why they have black pepper sauce on my rice. I can't even continued eating my entree and gave it to my hub. Portion is small. Mimi's Kitchen is has been around 2 weeks now. It is in the shopping center off of Blossom Hill with the Pet Club, and it is tucked in to that recessed area between Pet Club and the drug store. So, you would never know it is there unless you look for it! The restaurant has a clean, casual look. Usually you order via your phone, but it was not working on this day, so a server took our order. We got the vegetable spring rolls, cucumber salad, sweet potato fries, Fry Beef Udon and Sizzling Curry Katsu chicken. The 3 appetizers were excellent. My only complaint is that they do not have ketchup. They served a creamy dip for the sweet potato fries. They fries themselves were crispy and great. We loved the cucumber salad too. Food? Excellent quality and a great value! My partner had the sizzling short rib rice, and I had the sizzling eel rice. Both were taste sensations! The server was a very sweet, soft spoken young woman who advised us to not touch the cast iron bowl and to mix in the house made sauce into the rice. Even after 20 minutes, the cast iron was still hot which gave the rice on the bottom a crispy, chewy texture that we loved. The short ribs were Hawaiian style. The eel melted in my mouth. Other folks were having fried noodles, sashimi, a tower of cucumber slices, ramen, and all of it was beautifully presented. The menu is only available by QR code. It is somewhat limited in comparison with other Asian restaurants. I like that they stick with the sizzling dishes, pressed sushi, noodles and soups. Do what you do best! They do! It's delicious! Interestingly, they don't have hot tea. It was a crisp day, and I really would have enjoyed a cup of genmaicha. However, they serve a beautiful carafe of water with lemon slices. Service? The servers, and bus boy were obviously young family members. Nevertheless, they were friendly, efficient, and professional. Ambiance? Found this place on Yelp and it seems like it was only opened less than 2 months ago. This place is tucked away in the plaza so it's a bit hard to spot. However, the ambience inside is very nice and cozy. The most shocking thing about this place is that the prices are very low for the kind of food you get. I got the beef sizzling plate and it was only $12 or $13. At pepper lunch, That would probably be close to $20. The flavor was good and the rice was very crispy. I saw that the ramen was only $12... First, it's become my favorite Ramen restaurant. It's a little hidden, a hole in the wall, if you will, to the left of CVS. But unlike a hole in the wall, I like the overall ambience of the restaurant. You do have to scan the QR code on the table to order food through the site that pops up. The service is always very friendly and very polite. Now to the ramen. The only one I've had nearly a dozen times is the pork belly ramen. It comes in a spicy version too that even this white guy can handle, lol. The broth is rich and tasty and the pork belly is about 2 inches high, nearly 3 inches long and an inch thick and full of so much flavor I have dreams about it. This place is a hidden gem, tucked away behind Kitchen Nail Bar. Although it is quite small, it is the perfect spot for date night or a quiet meal. We have been here a few times for lunch. There is never a problem finding seating. We have tried the appetizers like takoyaki and grilled octopus. Both very good. For the entrees, we usually order the sizzling plates. My personal favorite is the salmon one. They serve it on a hot cast iron plate along with butter, rice, thick slices of salmon, corn, and green onions. You can add sauce and seasoning to your preference, which are provided at your table. Service is great. Staff is friendly and attentive.
