My husband and I decided to try Mimi's Cafe for the first time, and it'll probably be our last. We both got the Cookie Butter Latte, and it took about 15-20 minutes just for the drinks to come out. Presentation was nice but they literally just tasted like milk.Then we waited another 15-20 minutes for our food. By the time it came out, it wasn't even worth the wait. Everything was bland and just...mid. The service wasn't great either, slow the whole time, and no one really seemed to care. Overall, the long wait, disappointing food, and poor service made it an easy one and done for us. read more

Food was good and service was great. The women's restroom was HORRIFYING. No AC at all, it was hot muggy and stinky--like bad sewage. I had just finished eating so I was IMMEDIATELY nauseous when I walked into that oven of a bathroom. No sign posted warning customers there was an issue in the bathroom but the hallway into the bathrooms had a lot of air fresheners going on to mask the stench. Came to have breakfast on Valentines morning and we had an amazing time! Both my husband and I had two mimosas he orange me peach and we ordered an appetizer soup and mains. Our server was really great. She was quick and although she was busy, she didn't let that her delivering great service. Daisy was amazing and she wasn't even bigger reason as to why we love our experience. Although the soup seem to be a little bit over reduced when it was heated up, everything else was just amazing as ever and it was so great to see that Mimis keeps up with the trends going on like the Dubai chocolate muffin that they have on display. Diane and I returned here for dinner, where I was very pleased with my dining experience. I had a really good large crock of cheesy French Onion Soup, followed by tender Liver & Onions with Bacon, Mushrooms, and both White and Red Onions. It came with tasty Mashed Potatoes, a robust Brown Gravy, and French Green Beans. Diane had a weak Hot Chocolate, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich that included multiple cheeses, French Fries, and we shared a Basket of addictive Carrot Raisin Madeleines. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome from the hostess, who was familiar with our reservation. And our server, Tamara, was very hospitable, efficient, and receptive to our needs. 5pm reservation to celebrate my son's 4 year birthday. We brought balloons, gifts, and a party hat for him. Our server, Derrick, never once acknowledged his birthday or brought a dessert treat for him. We even put in the reservation notes that it was a birthday dinner. Hostess and server both knew and NOBODY cared. Anyone with eyes can see it was a birthday. Customer service has been terrible here and everywhere else in the valley. Food was good but the service was not worth it for the high price point. What is going on with the server industry? And we're wondering why robots are replacing people. We will NOT be back. The place itself is very cute. The service is ok, once we got our food we really didn't see her much at all. The French toast was good but definitely nothing special, same with the eggs. The French onion soup had one quarter sized piece of bread in it. The crab cakes weren't good. There was almost no crab in it, it was giant chunks of peppers, onions and celery in it which were awful to bite into, and a ton of breading but you basically couldn't taste the crab. Tamra was our waitress and she was such a warm happy energy it was fantastic. Now I've been here a few times. This is a simple casual Louisiana themed diner. It has good days and bad days like any other casual establishment. The good days it all hits, flavors are peak deliciousness and cooked to perfection. The bad days are more just lacking flavor, everything is cooked perfectly, but it's simply not hitting. That said, I will always recommend 1. the pesto turkey sandwich, simple fresh ingredients and a flavor that will make you want to go in for that second bite. 2. The sticky toffee pudding, they call it something else but it tastes amazing all the same 3. Croissant beignets these are gooie crispy little pieces of heaven. Especially! Mimi's Café is not what I remember when it comes to customer service. It's been some time since I've been. I will say my server was great. She did well. It was the other servers who seemed not to make contact and purposely avoid me. The interesting part is that I never saw the server until my visit. The restaurant has a sewer challenge too. Not the lou, the sewer... There is a limited time menu. When I tell you... them chorizo and egg tacos as well as the chorizo sausage omlett looked so good. I opted in for the omlett. Good choice. The omlet was amazing. Cooked well, no onions for me, the avocado was fresh. Very well made. I can't with to try the chorizo tacos next. Thanks for the coffee too. It was not bad . I had an amazing experience. Walked into a nice place. Slightly loud due to business level. Awesome service. Our server was very busy yet so attentive. Still looking around I found the place very nice. Food is here! Delicious food. Birria dip sandwich meat was just OK. I think the kickers are the hearty dishes. My one daughter had the meatloaf with scalloped potatoes and mashed potatoes. Very hearty and filling. I had the roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and green beans. Excellent flavors on everything. We went here on a whim. It has been years since visiting a Mimi's Cafe. We arrived a little after 1PM on a Sunday. It was not crowded at all. We were greeted and seated within 5 minutes. It took a while to get our drink orders. I ordered the Mango Ice Tea which was so refreshing. I went with the chicken Mac and cheese. It was pretty good. My son had the Jambalaya. He was very impressed. My husband had the chicken Parmesan, he finished his plate so it must have been good. The ambiance was nice, very New Orleans cafe style, it was not crowded at all. Even though the Yelp rating for Mimi's is three stars, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Every Mimi's I have been to has always been quaint, and comfortable, (this one included). Service was very good. However the quality of food was not. My Hibachi salmon was dry, tough, and flavorless. The replacement salmon was less dry, still flavorless, and still difficult to eat. Needless to say, I will no longer give the benefit of the doubt, and trust the many reviews whole heartedly. I do not recommend. read more

Food: Tasty but small portions for price. Service: adequate but not exceptional. Waiter made nothing feel special for the birthday lady but did offer her a free muffin to take home. Ambiance: Room was cold. Greeter wanted to seat us in front room but it was extremely busy and noisy so we requested to be seared in back room where it was quieter (because there were four of us ladies there to celebrate a birthday & we are older in years so needed a fairly quiet area so we could carry on conversations. We came here last Saturday and to say it's went downhill is an UNDERSTATEMENT. My family and I used to come here often years ago but with their inflated costs, we since stopped. I was craving a pot pie and we thought, let's just go there. First red flag, NO ONE was there on a Saturday night! First time at Mimi's and it was a quiet spot with quick service. We went early, ahead of any potential dinner rush. I came for the pot pie and was overall pleased! It had good flavor and fresh ingredients. While I would have loved more veggies, more substantial pastry and a little thicker of a sauce... it hit the spot which "hotter" influencer spots offering pot pie around town, did not! I would come back and I would recommend it. Especially for the price! My husband said his burger was fine and I personally did not enjoy the fries, they tasted like they were not cooked in fresh oil or something of the sort. My husband and I came here for dinner on Friday night. It was not too busy. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very quick and efficient. We ordered a peach tea which was good. Came here New Year's Eve 12/31/23 with a friend. I haven't been to Mimi's Cafe since I was a kid, and I remember we used to always go for breakfast. Upon pulling into the parking lot it was busy. We arrived around 12pm. We were seated immediately, we looked over the menu and I decided to order the Santa Fe omelet with no cheese and it came with potatoes. We also ordered mimosas and it came with a mini bottle of champagne on the side. Our server was just as attentive as he was required you can tell he was busy and alone and trying to take care of everyone, so I can't say anything negative, we had about two mimosas each l and they were only $8.99 each and was such a good deal. Very disappointed... Mother's day 2026. 115 pm reservation for 4. We check in at 1, and are asked to wait. No worries I get it we are early. It is HOT in there.
