This club is amazing!! We went for the opening VIP night to see Steve Byrne and my wife and I had a marvelous time. The place is clean, cozy, and the decor is phenomenal. We got a taste of what their full menu is going to be like and the food and drinks were amazing. They do a great job of creating an amazing, customer service, friendly environment. The staff was great and on top of every aspect of the night. I highly recommend going here for a night with friends of a date night. We will be back many times! read more

I had the best time seeing Gabriel Iglesias at the improv. What I would recommend to anyone who hasn't been here before is to read the other reviews for tips on parking and the 2 item minimum. (Not going to repeat all of it here). Also I would suggest getting there early for sold out shows. We got there a little over an hour early and ended up getting great seats (the staff will seat you). Turns out the people who got front row seats were actually there 3 hours early! As a sober person, I really appreciated their mocktail drink list which was in addition to the usual non alcoholic beverages. The virgin Pina colada was $6 and not very big. But thanks to having read the other reviews there wasn't any sticker shock with the menu prices. My husband and I also shared an order of sliders with fries and chips with corn guacamole. The sliders were delicious and the fries were also good. The guacamole was just ok. Still giving 5 stars for the excellent job the wait staff did with a full house. read more

Yelp Elite event at Milwaukee Improv. Easy and and safe covered parking in garage. Greeted at the lobby and shown to theater. Table style seating. Show started promptly. Two openings, first one quote short. Second was longer and he was so funny, that we wished he would have been the headliner. Headliner started the show by letting us know that he was going to go without an agenda, as we were Milwaukee. Funny parts, but went a bit long for the audience as well as him I think. There is a two drink minimum I should mention - it was on the screen at the beginning, and printed on our ticket but it was too dark to read that anyway. Nobody pestered us about it and did not enforce it which was very refreshing. read more

Came here on a Friday night to watch Lara Beitz because I won a pair of free tickets from Yelp (thank you Yelp!). We had walked by the Improv a few times before it opened while we shopped around The Corners before, but I'm glad to finally take th opportunity to go and check it out! The location of the Improv is a bit weird to get to, as it is in the lower level (at the level of the underground parking structure next to Sendik's). We picked up our tickets at the will call and the doors opened at 6 for a 7:30 show. We walked in at 6 and got seated in the second row of tables, and we started looking at the menu. For those who have never been, the Improv requires you to buy two items per patron throughout the duration of the show. Last call happens around half an hour before the show's end. First of, the space and venue were really nice! Everything was really clean and it was really spacious and comfortable. It was however freezing inside, so I recommend everyone bring a light jacket with them for the show, especially if you were coming from sweltering heat outdoors. We quickly placed our orders and got two club sodas (free and we don't drink alcohol), the boneless Buffalo chicken wings, the Works pizza, cheesy garlic bread, and a pesto chicken sandwich. The drinks came quickly and the food really soon after. -Club sodas: had to return them because they just tasted really weird/off. Ended up buying two bottled sparkling waters instead ($5/each). -Buffalo chicken wings: pretty decent, reminds me of chicken nuggets that were really tender. -The Works pizza: small pizza but not too bad, needed a lot more toppings and was expecting a bigger size. -Cheesy garlic bread: couldn't taste the garlic at all and the bread was kinda stale, but the marinara sauce was fantastic -Chicken pesto sandwich: there was two tiny pieces of chicken, and everything else was just bread and vegetables. Couldn't taste the pesto. The fries were also too salty. Overall, the food is overly expensive and wasn't really worth the price point. However, understanding that this is pretty much bar food to complement the performance, it really wasn't that bad. I was full and we pretty much finished all the food. For the two items minimum per guest, I'd just order drinks next time, even if they're just bottled sparkling waters, and get an appetizer or dessert next time. We didn't want any sodas or mocktails since we didn't want sugary drinks and we don't drink alcohol at all. The food overall was 3/5 (hence the review). Onto the shows though, we loved Lara! We thought her standup was incredibly fun. We also liked our first opening act, but didn't enjoy the second or third ones--as their jokes weren't really our cup of tea. Bottom line is that we'd definitely come back for other shows, but we would choose to order other items and drinks instead. We're thankful that we have the Improv here in Brookfield as it makes living around Milwaukee a tad more exciting. read more

I got free tickets from a giveaway on Instagram - thanks Yelp! I've never been to the Improv or actually a comedy show at all before so I was very excited. The venue itself is really nice and has the vibe of a New York underground comedy show, which I love. One complaint is that the chairs for the show are extremely uncomfortable, especially for about two hours. There is a 2 item minimum for every patron, so I got a mojito and fries. The food and drinks are fairly good, but I do have to say that the drinks are nothing special. I got a mojito and it didn't have much flavor or booze in it at all. I believe the mojito was around $14 and the fries were $8, so I was a little disappointed with the quality for the price. The show itself was great! We saw Lara Beitz and she was absolutely incredible. I wasn't very familiar with her prior to the show, but I'm a huge fan now. There were also two openers, and they were entertaining but Lara was truly the star of the show of course. Overall, I'd definitely return to the Improv at some point. I had a lot of fun and my jaw actually hurt by the end of Lara's set because of how much I was laughing! read more

So I think that we are lucky to have this club. Pros: Great location Easy access to tickets Paul Farahvar Great comedians Good (slightly expensive) food Cons: Nothing. But we could have had less of the bidet jokes and the horse feces in the face jokes Come on guys, we live in the middle of nowhere. The only thing I knew Milwaukee for, was Laverne and Shirley. I felt like we lived in a metropolitan, diverse city for a few hours tonight. What a great feeling! I was one of a handful of colored people in a sea of white, but I was able to let my guard down for a few hours and enjoy and laugh. After spending the last few years dealing with mean, vitriolic people, 3 hours was worth it's weight in gold. We should encourage places like this to flourish. We'll definitely return. read more

I'm giving it a 3-star review because i have mixed feelings. The opening act was horrible - not funny at all. But the main act was hilarious. He was great. As for the food and service, atrocious. I realize serving a ton of people all at once presents it challenges so I am willing to forgive the less than stellar service. But the food was horrible. I'm not expecting a gourmet meal by any means but at least serve halfway decent food or don't do it at all. So my recommendation is yes go see a comedy show here but do not eat here. Go elsewhere first and then go to the show. read more

Loved it! I just got back from watching Tim Dillon perform at the milwaukee improv and it was fantastic. The building is super nice, the food was great and the staff was awesome. A few notes: - The mozzarella sticks are huge. They are about 3x larger than a normal mozzarella stick. - I got tickets for a premium booth and the booth is great, but it isn't actually the best way to watch a show. I was sitting on the end so I needed to twist my body to really watch the show. Not a big deal but after doing that for an hour and a half my back is a little sore. In the future I will get one of the normal tables so I don't have to turn to watch. - If you are going to have dinner I recommend you get there early and eat before the show starts so you are not trying to eat while you are laughing. I'm so glad this place is bringing top comics to a wisconsin suburb. Brookfield is not exactly a hot spot for entertainment so I'm really thankful that this place got created. read more

Saw Shawn Wayans at the Friday night late show and had a great time. The service was great and I loved the online ordering option. We had multiple drinks and also pretzels. The pretzels were warm and soft- served with mustard and a good amount of hot cheese. For drinks we had margaritas and espresso martinis. Everything was amazing. I love how they seat you for you show, so there are no empty spaces or confusion about where to sit. Once you're in, the lights are dimmed as expected and it's super intimate. The building is nice and new. The seating is nice with a good view from everywhere. We sat in the front row, center stage and while the sound system is pretty good, lower frequencies can be hard to hear, especially if the audience is laughing/clapping. I could also hear the kitchen at times. Which brings me to the food. Everything we got was absolutely terrible. The pepperoni pizza was tiny and barely cooked. My "Nashville hot chicken sandwich" was mostly oil caked breading. Before my first bite I broke off a huge piece of breading. My first bite was all breading...I would have spit it out IF we had been given any napkins...we had to use the ones that came with our drinks. Back to the sandwich...after my first bite I could see there was a small piece of chicken inside a pocket of breading. I couldn't eat any more of it. The "loaded" French fries come with Queso and scallions. Basically it was a serving size that comes with a sandwich, but with a small amount of cheese. My wife's burger was "flavorless, barely warm and super dry." My Long Island ice tea tasted like a country time lemonade with MAYBE a little vodka in it. All that said, it's a very nice place for comedy, just get your food elsewhere and only get drinks that come out of a bottle. read more

I love live comedy shows, and I'm so glad to have the option to see in person entertainment again! I won tickets to see Lara Beitz from Yelp so my husband and I took it as a fun date night. The venue is on the lower level in the parking structure in the Corners of Brookfield - our GPS was incredibly lost and we ended up on multiple levels trying to figure out the right one. Once we got there, it was chilled (a nice relief in the middle of summer) and there was no line to get in, which was nice. We were shown to our seats right away and sat at the middle bar area. The seats were definitely tolerable for the show but not the most comfy. We ordered using the QR code which was easy enough but I can see how it would be hard to use in the dark. Our food took a bit of time but wasn't too bad in terms of a wait. The food itself... Sort of awful. The spinach artichoke dip was totally flavorless and the chips it came with were undercooked and unsalted. I was surprised at how tasteless it was. The chicken quesadillas were fine - far from great but more edible than the dip. My husband's cocktail was the spicy cucumber and it was neither spicy nor tasted like cucumber. We also asked for ice water but never got it for some reason. Speaking of tasteless... One of the opening comics was pretty intolerable. Can we nix the jokes yet about people who use drugs or mental health? I was not a fan at all. Lara Beitz was fantastic though - so funny! I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Tl;dr the comics are hit or miss, food is a HUGE miss, and you should probably stick to beer. read more

We had a great time visiting Milwaukee Improv to see Sheng Weng. The comedians were great and the venue was also nice. There is plenty of free parking and lots of food options nearby. The improv entrance is in the parking garage though, so it is a little hidden. I wasn't aware of the two item minimum until the show - I got a vodka soda and a soda and it was about $16 so a bit pricey (soda was $6) but that's to be expected. Might go for a food option next time as some of the apps looked great but we had just eaten. Seating is pretty cramped, but it wasn't a full house so there was space to spread out. I could see it being tighter on a weekend though. Overall great experience, they have plenty of affordable ticket options and are worth checking out! read more

Came for the hocus pocus drag brunch last Sunday and it was an overpriced mess. As other reviewers have posted, several items we ordered took two hours to make it to the table, if they made it at all. I've been to a few drag shows before and this was the worst I've seen by far. The venue was WAY too big to only send one dancer out at a time and their energy was just off, or nonexistent. It felt like they were just collecting handouts, like at church. Everyone at my table was more entertained by making jokes about the lack of service and awkward dances than we were by the actual show. Several tables left mid show. Honestly, the execution of this show was so poorly handled, I feel a refund is due to everyone in attendance. Still made the most of it because I was with my besties and it was my birthday, but it left a bad taste in my mouth for sure. read more

Had such a good time at Milwaukee Improv! To start, like others said, park in the lower garage area for easy access inside. I did not know this and ended up entering next to Cafe Hollander and going down some stairs. Not terribly inconvenient but a little confusing to start. We were seated quickly in the middle of the room where there was a long table and seats next to each other in a row. We went on a Thursday night so we were not packed too tightly together since the theater wasn't full. I actually really liked this seating arrangement, probably more than the tables right in front of the stage. Ordered some pretzels, fries, a glass of wine, and a moscow mule between the 2 of us. The food was decent and was perfect for snacking on during the show but definitely a little pricey. The staff was quick and efficient. The show itself was awesome and we really enjoyed the host, opener, and headliner. Overall the place is very nice with a great ambiance. I can't wait to come back to see more shows! read more

I got myself out of my comfort zone by going somewhere like this on a Wednesday night, not something I would typically venture out to do! I was happy to take Yelp up on this adventurous opportunity. I didn't realize that there were going to be not one, but a total of three comedians to entertain us. As other Yelpers mentioned, you do want to arrive here at an earlier time to guarantee good seats. I had to sit on the outskirts of the table, and found myself uncrossing and recrossing my legs so the serving staff would be able to walk past me--which they did quite often. Another negative/positive were the QR codes on the tables to order food & drink. It's a positive, because of course it's an easy option to scan on your phone and access/order from the menu. However, I'm sure some would prefer a more "old fashioned" approach with ordering face to face. The bar was not open when I checked outside of the venue. A negative surrounding the tables w/ QR codes, is that although I paid for my tab, I was unable to go back to place another order, without it pulling up the party sitting next to us on the opposite side of our table. That was frustrating, and stopped me from ordering since we didn't have anybody to physically check on us or help us with orders beyond the scanning code. Another heads up would be that once you are in for the show, it seems they lock the outside door. When I asked if I could step outside for a minute, they said sure, but I would need to knock to be let back in. I thought that was kind of tacky. The bathroom situation can also be a bit confusing if you aren't paying attention or perhaps had too much to drink; the men and women's bathrooms are nearly connected, with an open concept for washing your hands in the middle of the two. Anyways, all being said & done, I would be back to check out a weekend show, and I would plan on being there earlier and staying later! ;) read more

Obviously, the comedian is a plays a big part in how good of a time you will have. The club is immaculately clean, and the people are great. I've been several times, once I even showed up the day after my tickets (my fault) and they still let me in. The occasionally offer great deals of Facebook. read more

I caught a flat tire and had to wait for assistance coming from another city to see Funny Marco. I had family who was there and told me wasn't up yet. I just made it in time to catch him so the manage to lie and say he's not up. Then when I told him he wasn't up yet he said well after 20 mins they can't let people in. This is terrible service I don't recommend no comedian hosting events here because they will leave your fans outside without caring about the circumstances. BS rules for people who spent their hard earned money to enjoy themselves. And to improv you guys need to do better with your rules & staff. read more

Husband and I saw TJ Miller last weekend and the show itself was good. The venue, however, was unbelieveably disappointing. Got to the theater early and we were told we couldn't come in because the lounge wasn't ready yet. The man at the door told us to come back in half an hour. Had a drink next door and came back to decent line outside the theater. Got up to the man scanning tickets and he announced that the lobby was full and we'd have to wait outside-in 20 degree weather. After he saw the look on my face, he let us and a few others sneak in. The lobby was completely packed-couldn't even get to the bar to get a drink. Doors were to open at 9:15 for the 9:30 show. When the early show finally let out after 9:15, they wouldn't let the next group in-I assume they were cleaning? We didn't get seated until almost 10 p.m. We were crammed into counter-like seats, that pre-covid would make people uncomfortable. There's a two item minimum per person and QR codes to scan to order drinks and food. The prices of the drinks were ridiculous, more expensive than a martini bar. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks-like 10 minutes before. After I ordered from the QR code, a server came around, apologized for the wait and asked what he could get us. When I asked for water the first time, I didn't get it, when I asked a second time, my husband got a free glass of water and a different waitress brought me a bottle of Fiji water that was $5.00. When I was in the middle of trying to pay off the QR code, the waiter came back with our bill. The disorganization of this business is laughable. I understand they are a new business to the area, but this is not the first Improv comedy club, nor the first establishment to serve food and drinks. It could be a nice theater, but they have so many kinks to work out. If they want to act like an upscale establishment, and justify charging like an upscale establishment, they need to learn how to conduct business like an upscale establishment-or at least a decent one. read more

Won tickets through Yelp (thank you) for the Wednesday night show featuring Chris Franjola. Since it was a workday night, everyone was kind of a lethargic...but the opening act and Chris had us rolling in no time. Great seats and the staff was very cordial and accommodating. Drinks were a little steep, but what can you do? They also serve salads, burgers & various appetizers (if you so desire). Garage parking was easy in an easy out. Definitely a good time. Will look forward to seeing another X soon. read more

Comedian was great. This was our first time going to the improv. There was a line when you first arrived and it was completely unorganized. They allowed people to come in the front door and gather there instead of getting in line. They then moved to the front of the line to go into the theater. Those of us that were in line waiting like we were supposed to went in last. We only got drinks and service was good. Don't like the bathroom set up at all. read more

Comedians are fantastic, staff friendly, and the venue is really nice. We enjoyed ourselves but were extremely disappointed in the quality of the drinks. we understand and have no problem with the minimum two purchases per person requirement. The drinks were way over priced and watered down. We don't mind paying a more for drinks at entertainment venues but these were beyond reasonable. We ordered doubles and they were definitely not even singles. If we go again, we will only buy beer or soda because we know what to expect. Would rather give the extra $$ to our server than get scammed on drinks. read more

Food served cold, as if it had been cooked before the show to facilitate fast service. The "crema" on top of my quesadillas had been applied so long ago it was soaked into the cold quesadillas. My spouse and I went to a show here, and while the performance was great the rest of the experience was quite terrible. The seating is super cramped and there are folks sitting with their backs to the tables they are expected to eat at. But worst of all is that the service was REALLY BAD. Our food came out within 20/30 min but tasted like it was sitting out for most of that time. And trying to get the sodas we ordered was a complete mess. And the payment system was so confusing and ridiculous. Trying to track down our server to figure out our orders and payments was practically impossible. Overall we had food that was barely warm, waited for over an hour for our sodas, then days later got charged for stuff we never got. With a food/drink minimum there's no escaping the terrible and confusing service. At this point I'll opt to go to other comedy venues from here on out...also limited means for contacting the venue to discuss issue. read more

Took my boyfriend here as a surprise date night to see Shawn Wayans. The earlier you get there, the closer you'll be seated to the front. We were there about 40 minutes before the doors opened, towards the front of the line, and were seated at one of the front tables. I purchased our tickets ahead of time. If you drink, I would recommend having a few before hand, and not here at Improv. I saw many comments before we went that the drinks were watered down/really expensive ...and they were right. The drinks were VERY expensive. $17 for a tall rum and coke. We didn't even try the food because of the poor reviews on here I saw beforehand, so we decided to eat somewhere else before. Unfortunately, there is a purchase minimum of 2 items per ticket. I saw someone's review say this wasn't strictly enforced, but I think the closer you are seated to the front, the more enforced it may be. Shawn Wayans was great! read more
