I was able to get four hydrangeas, six salvia/sage, two catmint, & three ornamental grasses all for under $140. It helped us stay way under budget and the plants are growing beautifully and healthy. I had been looking for the supplies I need to re-screen the window screens at my home (15 of them!). This seems like a simple enough task--according to YouTube, that is--so I brought my screen to get everything and ensure I got the correct size spline and enough screen mesh, and the employee called one of his coworkers as soon as I walked in to help me find what I need. And more... we'll see if I can install the new door handle I bought for my storm door. I was in and out within 10 minutes (I know that because the store was about to close). I haven't been here in a while as I used to come here more often when I lived in West Rogers Park, but I really do just need to start here in the first place. I got everything I needed here save the pull tabs for the window screens (which I ordered online), and the customer service was great. Now I'm hoping this project will be as simple as it looks! There's parking on Devon that is aid parking using the box or the ParkChicago app and an entrance on that side of the store. You can also park for free in the lot in the back where the main entrance is. It's also directly across from the Edgebrook Metra station, which makes it pretty handy, and A CTA stop (pretty sure it's a stop and not just a bus staging area), so you've got options when it comes to getting here.

Harbor Freight had the best price for a 12v cordless drill ($20) and standard drill bits ($4) compared to other big box hardware stores. I also bought a box cutter while I was there because it was on sale for $2 and seems like a handy tool to have around. I'm sure it's not the best quality drill, but I was able to successfully drill pilot holes in an IKEA laminate countertop for my freestanding kitchen island underframe to attach to, which is really the most intense demand I'll be putting on it. I imagine it'll work well to drill into the wall for furniture anchor pieces, too.

Today…read moreI went to return a few products that my elderly parents had and had not opened/used that they asked me. The manager Bill came over and in front of three young cashiers that he was training said, "what are you trying to do, empty out someone's garage." Without the cashier having even finished scanning the items to see if they could be returned he had made his decision/judgement. I find his comment disinhibited, judgemental, and quite unprofessional. In a day where people can more easily shop from amazon or home depot down the street; the ones that continue to come to your store out of loyalty you lose with nasty managers such as Bill.
