The following day they were there to clean our ducts. Him and his crew went above and beyond. He gave me insights on other things in our new home as well, he even patched up a return vent that wasn't suppose to be there! They installed a brand new top of the line filter for our system. Our ducts are now clean and his sanitizer smells amazing! The whole house smells brand new, and we can immediately tell the difference in air quality. Edward went above and beyond to clean the vent, spending much more time than he anticipated. It turns out that there were items in the vent pipe causing a significant lint buildup. This not only caused the dryer to take a long time to dry clothes, but also presented a significant safety issue. Edward was courteous, professional, and provided a valuable service for us and our home. There are no repair companies in the area besides Chiodo (who don't seem to be able to get it working) willing to work on this unit and, based on the eror code, the the control board has failed so all I can do is replace it with a new boiler after only 3 years...would not recommend.

I have 22 vents and a cost of $154 seemed too low so I called the business and asked about the $7.00/vent and was told they clean and duct all the way back to the furnace. I asked again, "Are you sure the ducts are cleaned all the way back to the furnace" and the answer was Yes, Absolutely! Ray from whitemountainair.com arrived and I gave him a tour of our home and I showed him where I moved all furniture out of the way of the vents. I opened several vents that he said he would not touch because he said they were painted on, they were not, I remove vent covers to paint them, but did not argue with him. Here We Go - When in the basement he then told me the mains that feed the vents were extra at a cost of $169, I have 4 mains. What he failed to tell me while in the basement is cutting into the mains and resealing were an additional $29 per access panel which turned out to be 6 locations. Ray started work upstairs, then went out to his truck to write up the work order contract. If he wrote up the contract prior to starting any work, I would have asked him the leave at that time. The actual cost was almost 7 times what we were led to believe when we agreed to have White Mountain Air Duct Cleaning come to our home. I told Ray that I had specifically asked about the cost when making the appointment and was assured on the phone that all vents are cleaned "ALL THE WAY TO THE FURNACE" Ray's comment: "Oh, that is my assistant, and she does not understand". On top of that I had to reattach a dryer vent he knocked off, clean handprints off walls near vents, and clean metal shards off the basement floor where they had dropped where he cut into the mains, as well as a few that he tracked into a playroom carpet where my grandkids spend a lot of time. I did not find those until I stepped on one that cut my foot. If I knew the actual cost, I would have got additional quotes. My mistake was agreeing to have Ray finish and not asking him to leave and hire another contractor to complete the job, I was in a hurry, we were leaving on vacation the next day. Do yourself a favor and get a few quotes written up prior to hiring a contractor.
