This park was built by Walmart. I worked for the attorney who was trying to get the Walmart…read moreapproved. The neighbors were very much against it. Said it would bring crime and traffic. (Um no that's car washes and storage units). Anyway, Walmart said they'd donate the back parcel for a park. It turned out pretty nice. The first park was destroyed by angry neighbors or neighbor but Walmart rebuilt. Lots of people use it. Dog walkers, sports teams, exercise clubs, families. It has a pavilion for parties and grills for picnics. Plenty of parking too. And we cannot forget CCSO who frequently keep an eye on what's going on there, just to keep the bad folk away.

There is a golf cart parking lot and wide sidewalks all the way around the lake. You can fish from the shore or from the fishing platform. The nicest playground I have seen in the area so far. There is a water fountain, clean bathrooms and the Clarke House Museum. There are volleyball courts , walking trails and a botanical garden. There are multiple pavilions you can rent for parties or sit under to have a picnic lunch. There is only one thing lacking at this beautiful park..parking. The parking lot is extremely small. If you don't get here early, you have to find somewhere down a side street and walk.
