This park was built by Walmart. I worked for the attorney who was trying to get the Walmart…read moreapproved. The neighbors were very much against it. Said it would bring crime and traffic. (Um no that's car washes and storage units). Anyway, Walmart said they'd donate the back parcel for a park. It turned out pretty nice. The first park was destroyed by angry neighbors or neighbor but Walmart rebuilt. Lots of people use it. Dog walkers, sports teams, exercise clubs, families. It has a pavilion for parties and grills for picnics. Plenty of parking too. And we cannot forget CCSO who frequently keep an eye on what's going on there, just to keep the bad folk away.

A note about the dog park...This little park is separated into a large dog area and small dog area. I love this as we have two little dogs who believe they are big dogs. Their Napoleonic complexes are better suited for fuzzy friends their own size! Also people who frequent the dog park leave bowls out for the visiting dog's right under the water faucet. Thank you all!! Another nice feature is the doggie doo baggie dispenser under the awning in case you forget to bring your own pick up bags. Additionally, there are a bunch of picnic tables under a covered awning for those warmer days. This is great for when you just want to sit in the shade and socialize with other dog owners while Fido does his own thing. This is a beautiful park just to go and enjoy no matter what your interest may be.

Took a nice hand-in-hand walk thru the park with my wife. Beautiful lake (not really a pond) with a winding paved pathway and a docking area for canoes or kayaks. I took my 1.5 year old and he had the best time exploring every part of the park. They have so many types of play equipment I have never seen in other parks. The long zip line and the chair zip line were not working while we were there but it didn't feel like we were missing out on anything with so many other fun things to play on.

The nicest playground I have seen in the area so far. There is a water fountain, clean bathrooms and the Clarke House Museum. There are volleyball courts , walking trails and a botanical garden. There are multiple pavilions you can rent for parties or sit under to have a picnic lunch. There is only one thing lacking at this beautiful park..parking. The parking lot is extremely small. If you don't get here early, you have to find somewhere down a side street and walk.
