The paved walking/jogging trail is perfect for visitors with plenty of shade and trees during the hotter months. I don't believe there are any restrooms or water fountains around or at least I didn't see any. Just be careful in the early evenings and when the sun goes down because I have heard some unsavory stories regarding sketchy characters hanging out here over the years. Always be aware of your surroundings....

Three of the four corners contain paths, while the fourth is an open field. A great place for a pick up game of football or soccer. The park could possibly benefit from the addition of a playground, although, that could take away from the serenity of this park. The traffic is never bad through this area since the majority sticks to Post Street. Also, if you take your dog and forget a plastic bag, no worries! There are different stations around the park that have a supply. Trash cans accompany these, so you can throw it away.

It has a small but pleasant nature walk, a kayak launch, a children's playground, an open field, adequate parking, and more. There is a private residence on the grounds, so please be mindful of that. All in all, Alejandro Garces Camp Tomahawk Park is a wonderful park and a great place in particular for the residents of this quiet side street. We need parks like this in our communities. This is a wonderful place to come in respite. I would definitely recommend a visit here, especially if you are in the neighborhood or anywhere in the general area. She continued on by playing with my children but did not have a child with her. A boyfriend was standing and waiting outside of the vehicle just smoking cigarettes. It gave me an uneasy feeling that either she was on drugs or they were involved in trafficking. I have since not gone back. It is a nice park otherwise and it's unfortunate some people have to ruin a good thing. I would just be mindful when you come here with your kids.

I enjoy bringing my family out, some of us friends meet out there and it is a beautiful thing. However, my experience this past weekend (June 20) was anything but. Unsupervised Teenagers were there. The inappropriate language, the trucks and dirt bikes kicking up sand and the drinking has definitely gotten out of hand. I have no answer or idea on how to curtail these behaviors but at some point it will have to be addressed. One teen was so drunk he could barely stand. The others were trying to sober him up by standing him in the water; and the boy tipped over. We could not reach them because we were in the middle of the lake. It was a horrible situation. A young girl in an uncomfortable position being groped by an intoxicated boy as his friends stood by and watched. By the time an adult tried to intervene, they were gone. This lake should be a place for everyone to enjoy, but that's not easy to do any more

The nicest playground I have seen in the area so far. There is a water fountain, clean bathrooms and the Clarke House Museum. There are volleyball courts , walking trails and a botanical garden. There are multiple pavilions you can rent for parties or sit under to have a picnic lunch. There is only one thing lacking at this beautiful park..parking. The parking lot is extremely small. If you don't get here early, you have to find somewhere down a side street and walk.

Water Views: There's a beautiful pond featuring a kayak launch and an event center available for rentals. Peace & Quiet: This park is completely tucked away. I've visited twice now and was the only person there both times. The trails looked pretty clean; I think they have volunteers that come through periodically. Unless you're interrupting bingo night I would think it fine to park over there. Be watchful for snakes including possibly cottonmouths. I did not see any but one trails goes between a lake and swampy, flooded, area and seems prime for water snakes--I like snakes but don't want to encounter a cottonmouth on a trail and this seems a great place to do just that.

I was looking to explore some new trails with my dog Simba and I found this spot. I parked across the street at a larger park as parking is limited. There was a crosswalk on Seminole. There were many different trails throughout the park but no signage with directions. So we wondered through the trails for about an hour. Most of the trails end on a residential street. There were a few picnic tables under trees if you are interested in having lunch in the park. I saw several turtles hanging out in the water. This would be a fun nature walk with children and or your pets.

Parking is odd. No real parking lot, just gravel sections or dirt sections that people pull in and park haphazardly. I had actual pulled into a dirt area at the south end of the park, where it was obvious others had parked, but it was right next to homes and a residential area! I opted to circle the park instead. On the west side- tucked down a one way street is a loop and sections where people parked. Again- nothing like a real parking lot- just dirt and gravel and cars strewn about. But- I parked, away from the other cars and got out to explore. The paths are wide! Looks like crushed shells are the walkways with plenty of bridges and boardwalks thrown in to cross various waterways and marsh lands. The wood looks newer too- so they must have done a recent makeover. There is a lift station in the center of the park and your nose will pick up the scent associated with it. I walked approx 2 1/2 of the longer North-South loops. Birding would be the biggest thing to enjoy here. I also spotted some turtles too. I encountered a plethora of dog walkers, a few cyclists and only one other hiker. I did pause for a moment and looked to the canopy above to admire all the small birds flitting about. I am so used to watching where I am hiking- to look for trip hazards and other on the ground treasures, it was refreshing to stop and just enjoy the flight acrobatics that were happening above. I feel like this park is a 3.5 star park. More than just 3 but not quite a 4. There are also plenty of picnic tables through to the park- be warned, with all the water it is buggy. There are only a handful of benches though. If you lived right there in an adjacent neighborhood- I could see this as part of your daily routine!

We attended the AMAZING arts festival here last year and are looking forward to it again. They hold beer festivals, charity runs, and more events in this small park. There is free street parking around the square. Note- there are no public restrooms at this park. The park is well maintained and they always update the landscaping each season. During the holidays, they put lights all over the park surrounding the Christmas tree under the gazebo. I love San Marco and it's many parks!
