The first time I'd tasted a Millie's Cookie it was like a revelation. Hot, gooey and so greasy it left your fingertips damp - they were lovely. Everything a chubby child like me could ask for in a cheeky afternoon sweet. But since then I've discovered a whole world of other confectionary, Ben's Cookies, Patisserie Valerie - all far more superior to lowly Millie's offerings. Or so I thought.
As I passed through Cabot's Circus a girl with a tray of broken cookies approached. "Can I tempt you with a sample?" You certainly can, love! One small taste and I was once again after more. The sneaky minx had got me hooked. They may not be the height of culinary sophistication, but for the rare sweet treat they're blooming lovely. You'll find this stand tucked away in a corner opposite House of Fraser where you're sure to find a group of teenagers smiling, holding a cookie. read more
