0 stars! I actually been to this store about 3 times total. In my 34 years of living, I've never experienced such blunt discrimination. I walked in to meet my mom, who had a head start of looking around the store while I bought my son a snack next door. She even saw my mom and I chatting as my mom was on the fence of purchasing a Longchamps purse in the store (which unfortunately, she bought prior to our altercation with Lori. I went to look at the purses displayed by the shoes in the corner of the store, pushing my stroller that my son was in. My son was sitting pretty well and watching his programs on his iPad. And I just caught Lori staring at me and my son. I stood there awhile staring back, seeing if she'd offer to help with something if that's what she intended on doing staring at me. Instead, silence from her end and just looking at me from head to toe with DISGUST, then over to my son HEAD TO TOE with disgust and moving her head around like she's looking for something in my stroller or something around us apparently. Which then, I proceed to ask "well, can I help you?" And she responds defensively and laughs "CAN YOU HELP ME???" And I said yes, well you're staring at me up and down, and with disgust at that. And she goes well, It just seemed he needed of some assistance? So one, my son who is clearly distracted and behaving at that looks like he needs assistance. And me generally browsing (not even touching) any items because both my hands are pushing the stroller look like I was interested in something to get assistance? Also, you confirmed the hard staring by validating that you in fact were looking because I needed of some assistance that I never asked for. And yes Lori, you even said there's a full room of people and customers. So why was I a target? Everyone else were holding clothing items and holding bags they were interested in and I was briefly looking because my mother bought something from your store. And if your intent was to help, why didn't you ask when we caught eye contact and instead just proceeded to look me and my son up and down and all around my stroller. Now I walked off to meet my mom and was so upset. I told her what had happened, and Lori walked over following us out. I confronted her about it and said, " well, I'm really not surprised. The reviews are reflective of what I've experienced" and she said "unfortunate it's based off of assumption". My elderly mother, who's disabled at that, was so upset and said "be nice!" walking out, and Lori UNBELIEVABLY proceeded to say, "SHUT UP" and slammed the door. I was like.... wow to a customer that just gave you business?! And a disabled senior at that. To take disrespect is one thing, but to witness both my 3-year old son and mother be disrespected... I opened the door and asked what her name was. And she said you don't need to know my name. "SHUT UP" coming from a store owner. HAHAHA that shouldn't even come from an employee, period. Let alone a store owner. No class. You can be white, tall, skinny. That means nothing. So get over your little power trip, Lori. I hope everyone in the store witnessed what happened. Disgusting... not even as a store owner but as a person. Lori, thanks to you, I've experienced racism for the first time in my 34 years of life. At least a clear cut, obvious one that Lori showed. I have been treated with more respect going to a Louis Vuitton or Chanel store than this second-hand thrift store lol. Unfortunate she discriminates. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I made an appointment with Lori last week. I showed up for my appointment and she was running late, store was closed. I had to wait outside with all my stuff. She finally showed up and she couldn't remember that we had an appointment. She picked about 10 items and I was on the fence about my Valentino shoes, so I said I would think about it and bring them back if I decided to sell. She said "it's a package deal" and decided not to take any of it. Horrible customer service and quite honestly, not a good selection of "high end" clothes. read more

Asked to see a vintage Chanel bag today and was immediately told the price was 4k (I was literally wearing my own Chanel bag at the time). Based on the previous reviews, seems like this is recurring behavior from the owner? However, she was nice and informative after that and let me try it on. This is the best place around here to purchase high end workout clothes in excellent used condition for a reasonable price. I think the owner is nice, I just come in knowing what I am looking for. My mother was trying to get a Burbery shirt for a special occasion and when she asked the owner of the place her response was "you way too big for the shirts." Did she ask that? Look like very worn items, nothing special. While the windows show attractive clothes nicely combined in the mannequins, the inside is dull, boring, smells old. Prices are not excessive but the couple of times I have been i have not have the wow factor. I loved the unique items in this store. While highly priced for used items, you shop at your own discretion and if you find an item that is worth it to you, ultimately, its your choice. I bought two items that I loved. THE MAJOR DOWNSIDE: Lori, the actual owner (tall blond) was RUDE and kept an eagle eye on me to make sure I did not walkout without paying for one of the used items. Really? I'm ethnic and it was obvious by her behavior that she felt the need to kick into hyper alert. She is not friendly and has an elitist attitude. I was excited to see a vintage high end clothing store come to Burlingame, however, after the two trips I can honestly say I will not be going back there and do not recommend this place to anyone. Trip 1 - My dog and I often walk down Burlingame Avenue as the majority of the shops are pet friendly. When we saw the Millie Mango store, my dog and I proceeded to enter. There were not any signs noting that dogs were not allowed as she didn't want the dog hair to damage any of the items. The business owner came up to me and asked me to leave upset that I had brought my dog into her store. Then a slight bark came from the back, it was then that I realized that the owner had brought her dogs to the store and the only reason that she didn't want my dog in the store was because hers were not friendly. Trip 2 - After my first experience, I didn't return to this store for over 6 months. When I returned, I was dressed down in workout clothes not showing any jewelry or name brand items. I was the only customer in the store asked for assistance and was treated like a 2nd class citizen. Honestly, I found a very nice purse and a few other items I would have purchased, but due to the poor customer service I will not do business here again. The Business Owner is Unfriendly, Judgmental, and a Hypocrite! I do not recommend this place to anyone! read more

The owner is super nice and very helpful. I had purchased a vintage jacket a week ago that needed repair on the lining. I sent it to the tailor behind Millie Mango and returned yesterday to pick it up but the tailor was closed (even though online it said it was open until 5 pm). I went into Millie Mango to ask if they knew the tailor's hours, and the owner volunteered to pick up the jacket for me because the tailor didn't have a consistent schedule. Talk about going above and beyond! As for the store itself, they have a great selection of cute things that are reasonably priced. I came in last week with my little one, and the sales associate was very nice to me and my 2 year old. I'll definitely be coming back again. read more

I usually enjoy consignment shopping for work, especially shoes which have already been broken in and that I will get a lot of use from. Over the span of a couple years, I have purchased from this store: Burberry, Ferragamo, and Tory Burch shoes. All were good purchases for a fair price and have served me well at work. The 2 star review is because: 1. The owner is not very friendly to me, even though I used to visit her store frequently and was a purchasing customer. 2. I asked to look at the channel bag and immediately was told with the price and right when I was about to check the bag she hold it back and told me to be gentle because its lamb skin which I know. I visited Millie Mango for the first time today and had a great first experience. Right when I walked in, I saw a Rag & Bone top, a gorgeous Alexander Wang bag in the window, and a LV cross body. My thoughts? "Yup. I'm in a good spot." I shopped the racks and ended up finding a lovely floral Jill Stuart dress (with pockets), and some basics by Splendid and James Perse. The ladies working there were very nice and helpful, and the selection is really great. As a curvier gal, I'd love for there to be larger sizes, but it all depends on who brings in their clothes to sell. ;) Thanks Millie Mango. I'll be back soon. Wow, after reading the reviews, I felt compelled to write a review to balance out some of the negative reviews. I've been shopping at Millie Mango for years and they have the absolutely best resale clothes around. They have a huge stock of current designers and beautifully maintained clothes (that look like new but in most cases appear to be about 1/3 the cost) and I literally find something just about every time I go. They also have some gorgeous vintage clothes, such as coats. I get so many compliments on the dresses, tops, sweaters, coats, purses, and more that I have bought there over the years. And anecdotally, I've never seen the owner or staff be anything but friendly to everyone in the store. I actually like how chill the owner, Lori is - I hate when clothing store owners and staff hover, asking you constantly what you are looking for or how you liked something after you tried it on. Lori seems to allow people to shop at their leisure. I definitely recommend this gem. read more

THE WORSE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I've never felt so discriminated as I did when I walked into this store. I'm a size 10, proud and curvy, which apparently isn't welcomed here at Millie Mango. When I inquired about the dresses that were hung up behind the register, the rude, stuck up, tall, in her late 40's associate told me, "These dresses are tiny and very pricey for you." And that was my queue to get out... I went to Herve Leger at BCBG, had AMAZING service and bought the best dress ever! Speaking of which, I left them a glowing review :) A note to the owner: Please train your staff to not assume how much money your potential clients have. Apparently, others have had a similar experience at your store, so I would make customer service a top priority for training and on boarding. read more

Lori, the owner, has a GREAT fashion eye and therefore the inventory is well curated. I am always amazed and grateful that I can find items from the current fashion season at an affordable price. Millie Mango is my go to place for beautiful dresses, blouses, coats/jackets, shoes, jewelry, and bags! Lori has been extremely helpful when I need to put together outfits for a vacation or business trip. I also appreciate the fact that over the years she has come to know my personal style and will let me know when an item comes in that she knows I will love. I want to start out by saying this store has some pretty great stuff. Her store is well organized, fairly priced and on trend. I've been in this store twice. The first time the owner was stand offish but kept to herself. My friend purchased a pricey pair of Tom ford glasses. The second time we went in I was excited to purchase new things however the owners attitude is SO off-putting that I refuse to spend my money there. I asked her to try on some things in the case, she looked annoyed but did it. In a nutshell my friend an I were both treated with disdain, side eye and like second class citizens. Very strange since we are well put together had purchased prior etc...but after reading these reviews I guess that's just her thing? Surprised by some of the negative reviews. I've been coming here for years and absolutely love the diverse selection of clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry. I come for the selection and fair prices. The owner has always been attentive and yet not pushy ... a hard combo to master in retail. I never dress up to go shopping and have definitely come in some days looking a bit scruffy and have always been treated well. She's nice if I buy and she's nice when I don't buy. I have to say that I agree with the owner about her no dog policy. Why would I want to shop with other people's dogs in the store? Millie Mango seems to me to be the perfect consignment store experience. The clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories are top-of-the-line and hand-picked. When you go into the store, there's a high-end vibe, and the layout and lighting are good. Also on the plus side: Their consignment terms are generous, and I always learn a lot about fashion and design when I come into Millie Mango. Just a few minutes ago my wife, son, and daughter walked in to this store in Burlingame (Millie Mango). Now I've been here before and purchased items from her in the past (over 3k). Today she was very rude and had no demeanor ! My wife asked to see a chanel purse and right off the bat she told my wife it was 4500 bucks and was only for serious buyers ! My wife and family immediately left her store and came to our truck. After my wife explained to me the situation I went back in an showed my face and she immediately recognized me. I told her she was very discourteous and that her actions just cause her to loose a 4500.00 sale , by her following around the store and judging someone by how they are dressed is wrong. Anyway she tried to apologize, showed her a fat bundle of cash 10k to be exact and told her that everytime I've been here its always been paid for in cash and that she F'd up. F!!!! Her . I'm a seasoned shopper. I choose consignment because I feel for the environment and overseas labor exploited to make most clothes these days. And mostly, I have a great time at consignment stores. But this one? Wow! I don't think I've ever been greeted so rudely in all my experience shopping. The proprietor looked at me and said nothing - just stared. That set the tone unfortunately. The owner said that she would have it cleaned and call us when it was ready for pick up. She never called. The owner runs her business without care for her customers.
