You can tell a lot about a business by how they handle their mistakes…read more This company used to have a solid reputation for quality and workmanship, but unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case. After spending well over $6,000 on a door, we started having issues just a few months after installation. The door wouldn't latch properly, so naturally, we contacted the company that installed it, expecting them to stand behind their work and correct the issue. Boy, were we wrong. They charged us $225 just to come out and assess the problem. After their inspection, they claimed nothing was wrong. Yet the door continued to have the exact same issue. We contacted them again, only to be told they wanted to charge us another service fee to come back out. Seriously? You installed the door, the installation was faulty, and now you expect the customer to keep paying you to figure out your own mistake? Rather than waste any more time or money, we called another company. Within 10 minutes, they identified the problem: the door had not been shimmed properly during installation. They corrected it on the spot and didn't even charge us! Now THAT is the kind of company that deserves your business. Mistakes happen. No business is perfect. But what separates a reputable company from the rest is how they take responsibility, stand behind their workmanship, and treat their customers when something goes wrong. Spending over $6,000 should come with more than just a door. It should come with quality workmanship, accountability, and customer service. Unfortunately, this company failed on all three.

I tried a few glass shops and no one had any technician available for weeks. I called Dotto Glass and the owner Keith just happened to answer my call. I explained my situation and he said he would personally help us out because he had no one else. So he came to inspect the problem which needed a creative "work around" to make the door handle functional without a big expense and to get it ready for 2 days from now. He completed the solution and now we are ready to go. He was so helpful, so friendly and the service was beyond generous as I am sure that he does not usually do service calls. It's nice to know that taking care of a customer still really matters to some businesses. Great job Dotto Glass!

I had previously used D&D Glassworks with good results, but this French-door project was…read moredisappointing--especially for an expensive project costing more than $7,000. The doors were repeatedly delayed, the wrong handles were installed, and the insect screens were missing with no firm installation date provided. The screens were included in the project price, and I had already paid a substantial deposit toward the order. Initially, D&D offered to let me withhold only $100 despite being unable to provide an installation date for the screens. After I objected, they agreed to leave $500 unpaid until the screens could be supplied and installed. They are now asking me to pay that remaining $500 even though, at the time of this review, they still do not have the screens and the screens have not been installed. A trim piece was also left for us to have cut. I was not told before the installation that the new exterior trim and the white caulking around the trim joints would still need to be painted, leaving me with additional work and expense to finish the project properly. D&D later offered to replace the handles and arrange to have the trim piece cut, but I declined because I had lost confidence in their communication and follow-through. I decided to complete the remaining work myself. Update: My main concern remains the outstanding $500. Your email stated that I could leave $500 unpaid for the screen and its installation until you were able to complete that work. The screens are still unavailable, have not been installed, and no firm installation date has been provided. Despite this, I was being asked to pay the $500 balance. Regarding the handles, I had to contact you on July 30 because I had received no update and assumed they had not arrived as expected. Only after my email was I told that the replacement handles had arrived that afternoon, and a return appointment was then offered. Given the repeated delays and lack of timely communication, I chose not to have your company return. My review reflects my experience with this particular project, and I stand by it.
