-- Detailed and Sophisticated, Responsive, Taking Initiative, Managing Reasonable Expectation…read more We looked at quite a few bids to finish our basement across the span of almost one whole year. Korey's bid was not the cheapest we got. However, he was the only person that demonstrated a well-thought through vision for our basement, not just a view of patching up walls and putting down carpets but a sophisticated and detailed vision, which we liked and appreciated. From the first time he came over for a bid, he set our expectation to a reasonable time range. However, throughout the construction period, he would take the initiative to move up the scheduling whenever possible, even if that means he had to call to schedule and then reschedule. This has cut down a significant amount of construction time we prepared ourselves for, which makes us happy. Throughout the construction period, he is very responsive to our questions and comments. He is also very knowledgeable of different considerations we were facing, ex. how to design the ceiling of the theater room we wanted so the odd air duct could be hidden as if it was part of the design. He is very detail-oriented and itemizes preparatory things as well as billing meticulously. This helps us have a clear mind set and timeline on what we could expect from them and what we were expected as well. The same applies to billing and payment as well. We have had a great time working with Korey, people associated with SALT/him, and people who came to help us finish our basement. We would recommend him and SALT to anyone without any hesitation.

Moving from California to Utah it was challenging to find a reputable basement contractor. We did…read morethe usual Yelp, Angies List, and Google searches and came up with 6 we felt we should meet with. Out of the six contractors one was too busy another forgot about us. Down to four, two contractors just put together a simple one page bid based on the square footage I gave them. To us this lacked details and they seemed reluctant to put much effort into actually visiting our new home to generate a bid and discussing ideas. Down to two contractors, Centurion caught our attention as they were quicker to respond to all of our questions, to visit our home and provide suggestions for building a better basement while the other builder seemed to be newer in the basement industry and it took several messages to get them to visit our home though they finally did. Both bids came in about the same price but we decided to use Centurion they were more responsive, had more options for us to decide on and we liked that they have been using the same sub-contractors for several years. Hope this helps, meet with Centurion you won't be disappointed.

Jay personally went beyond what we expected from a general contractor in reviewing the process, setting expectations, and making design and painting suggestions. I feel very good about recommending Blue River and Jeff. Also, I don't put on many feedback comments at all, so to offer comment to Blue River ought to say something by itself! First, they are doing a current project for us and its my 3rd time using Jeff. If he wasn't great, I would have moved on to other builders. Second, the effort is always with great quality. And last, being an accountant, I'm always concerned about price. My motto has been a 'value' approach. I don't go for the cheapest price, because I don't want the cheapest quality. But 'best bang for the buck' has always been important. I've decided that Blue River is my team, and in any project, I would call them first. Super happy. The work is solid every time and I trust them being in my home. Last point, Jeff's team is a small one. He doesn't have any army of workers. So you have to build that in your expectations. Last comment?..... they clean up after themselves, each day. I would recommend them to anyone in the Utah County area. John, Provo, 2024
