And the employees were nice. And the ambience, despite being moderately loud, it doesn't really matter for the food you're getting.

Visited the restaurant for their Detroit Style pizza special. The wording of the pizza description,…read morealong with the price, led us to believe the price INCLUDED up to three toppings. It did not specify toppings were an additional charge of what was a small pizza at $16.99. After placing the order, with three toppings (one of which was bacon), ate the pizza. It was really good. After receiving the bill, I was SHOCKED that the toppings were an additional charge to the already higher priced pizza for a SMALL. The bacon alone was $5.98! My bill was $30 for a SMALL PIZZA - it was good but not THAT GOOD for $30! We did question this, after asking for the manager, and why the menu description would not have clarified that the toppings were an ADDITIONAL charge and she said its because its just like the regular menu. The waiter never mentioned that the toppings were additional or that a bacon topping cost the amount of a pound of bacon! She offered a $10 coupon that would be emailed to me since they already ran my credit card and could not void the transaction. I have not seen the $10 credit/coupon email as of yet... Bakers, while their food is good, need to do better on clarifying their menu.

A Slice of Simple Life at Pickwick Place - Bucyrus, Ohio…read more If you're road-tripping from Columbus to Lake Erie and craving a pause from the gas stations and fast food chains, make a detour to Pickwick Place in Bucyrus, Ohio. It's more than just a pit stop--it's a charming taste of Ohio's heartland, served up with a side of fresh jam and a blackberry lemonade slush. A Market Made for Food Lovers Pickwick's farmer's market is a celebration of all things local and delicious. Picture this: crates overflowing with vibrant, seasonal produce--ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, juicy peaches, and sweet corn picked that very morning. Alongside the produce, you'll find a bounty of locally made goods--jams and jellies in every flavor imaginable, homemade pickles, fresh-baked breads, and dressings that taste like something your grandma whipped up in her kitchen. And let's talk about the fry pies. If you know, you know. If you don't--these handheld pockets of flaky pastry filled with gooey fruit fillings are reason enough to turn off the highway. They're my personal favorite indulgence here. Good luck stopping at just one. The market also stocks frozen meats from a local butcher, so if you've got a cooler in the trunk, you can take a little taste of Pickwick home to your own grill. Handcrafted Charm in Every Corner Step into the second building and you're met with a world of homemade crafts and rustic decor. It's like walking into a Pinterest board come to life--wooden signs, hand-stitched items, seasonal decorations, and more. Whether you're looking for a cute centerpiece or just browsing for inspiration, you'll find something to warm your home and heart. A Garden of Sunshine Out by the greenhouse, nature puts on her Sunday best. When we visited, sunflowers, zinnias, and wildflowers painted the landscape in bold, beautiful color. And here's the best part--you can grab a jar and some cutters, stroll through the garden, and build your own bouquet of fresh-cut flowers. It's a peaceful, slow moment in the middle of your day--and it smells amazing, too. Sit. Sip. Savor. If you're feeling a little hungry (again), Pickwick's small café has you covered with sandwiches and comfort foods that are perfect for a quick but satisfying lunch. Pair your meal with one of their frozen slush drinks, like the tart and tangy apple cider or the refreshing blackberry lemonade--trust me, it hits the spot on a summer day. Whether you're stocking up on fresh goods, hunting for homemade treasures, or just craving a peaceful stroll through blooming flowers, Pickwick Place is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things. So next time you're heading north to the lake, carve out a little time to pull off the road and experience this gem tucked away in Bucyrus. Take the Trip. Your next adventure is waiting--maybe with a fry pie in hand.

Breezy's Pizza is absolutely amazing. I've never had a complaint about them as far as I can…read moreremember. The prices are a little steep but the pizza is well worth it. The chicken bacon ranch pizza is wonderful. Their wings are by far the best wings in town and probably anywhere else that I've had wings. They're breezy fries are really good too. You get a really nice helping of cheese with it and bacon with it. I will say though that the ranch from Bakers is far superior. Although that just could be my bias because I think that the ranch from Bakers is the best ranch I've ever had. However the ranch that you do get with this is adequate. For context, a little bit of a side story. Growing up in town one of my favorite things to eat was a BLT fold over from Pizza Brothers. Unfortunately when they went out of business I could no longer get it. However, breezy's offers any of their pizzas as a fold over if you want. So I'll usually order a BLT fold over from there but I'll add extra bacon and pizza sauce onto it and it tastes really similar to the old pizza from Pizza Brothers. I don't think I could pick a winner but Breezy's is tied with Bakers for the best pizza place in town in my opinion.
