The decor is pretty cool because it's based around the theme of cars and car parts. If you know anything about Ford, you know that it's going to be heavily auto-related and that's a really cool vibe. I personally really love the ice strip that they have around the entire bar - it's an area to set your drinks that keeps them icy cold for the whole dining experience. The Happy Hour specials are amazing and the draft selection is always on point! The bartenders are wonderful and provide excellent service any time of day. I'm even more impressed now that the manager/owner replied to my review. And in such timely fashion! Excellent customer care all around. I will be visiting again soon!

Asking if it was mistakenly for the other couple, the harsh response that followed was this 'IS' your bill and walked away. It took about 30 minutes to get the cashed out. There were additional odd interactions at the least to say. But...Back to the food, it was good; along with the drinks- rated as a solid A! The lounge feel within the Dearborn Inn is nice and modern. We took my father's late brother's wife to lunch last week for her birthday. As a 38 year old veteran citizen of Dearborn, I know Miller's well and like it. However, I can easily go to the Detroiter downtown to solve my craving for a WONDERFUL burger. The waitress with the wig and a rude waitress named Toni are about the rudest people ever. The bar wasn't even busy when we arrived at 11:30 am on a Tuesday, but we waited for well over 45-50 minutes for 4 burgers and 3 fries. When the wigged lady was asked if we were forgotten about, she mumbled something. I'm sorry that she never graduated h.s. or went to college, but in order to make a decent tip, you should be nice and apologize for the ridiculous wait.. Yet when her daughter (or DIL) came in with her granddaughter sat next to us, she was sweet as could be... My opinion is, save money on her horrific wigs, and take mannerism classes. My mother wanted to take back the 2 $1.00 bills left in addition to the five that my father left, as they never come back and ask how things are. We sipped on our 12 oz. pops in the little silly juice glasses for 40 minutes before our food arrived, and when it did, she started shoving everything out of the way, like "here's your food, be grateful." She honestly didn't deserve a nickel for a tip. Again, sorry the wigged lady or Toni never got a degree and thinks that their job is difficult. My gosh, they serve cans of pop, burgers or grilled cheese sandwiches, beer, or simple drinks. GET REAL TONI AND THE WIGGED LADY. The only people worthwhile at Miller's Bar are Matt and Brittany... They have actually worked in a server environment and know how to speak to people. When I have a craving for a good ass burger in the future, I will go to the Detroiter downtown where you get FRIES, A HUGE BURGER W/ CANADIAN BACON AND BACON, AND A POP OR BEER FOR $8.95.. Miller's must pay people to give them high ratings.... My boyfriend and I went here because neither of us had been here since we were kids. For some reason, it bothers me that they don't have dishes or utensils... Eating a burger on wax paper just isn't for me. The burgers were so freakin' puny I would be embarrassed to sell those as the "Best Burger in Michigan," or any burger in Michigan for that matter. The taste... like a McDonald's hamburger. So pathetic. Not to mention that they cooked our burgers wrong. The onion rings were standard, but the fries were so small, soft, and squishy that they were practically inedible. Such a shame. We ordered two burgers, one fry, one onion ring, and two sodas. They work on the honor system. When we walked up to the bartender to ring us up (also the owner), he made no eye contact, no smiles, and was very intimidating when he asked us what we ordered. I told him, and he asked accusingly with his back still toward us, "Didn't one of your burgers have cheese on it?!" The way he asked it, so condescendingly in uptalk, made me feel offended. I don't know if I was more offended that I was being accused of thievery in general, or him thinking that I would thieve a 40 cent piece of cheese. Total bill: $28!!!!! %@*^!! Yes the burgers are good and the place is packed at lunch. However, the fries are really below average ... do not ask for mayonnaise, lettuce or tomato on your burger, because they don't have those condiments. Perhaps you could bring in your own...or would they have the ex-cop bartenders arrest you? Draft beer comes in those smaller glass you find in the bathrooms at cheap motels. And you had better like Miller or Miller Lite because that is all the draft beer they carry. Better to order a bottle of beer. Do not ask the bartender for water, as he will only sell you a bottle of water...why? Ex-cop bartender:"Your waitress must bring the glasses of free water, but I can sell you a bottle of water." Why are they so rude to the patrons for this simple request? Seriously...why go there when there are so many great pubs around Detroit? These pubs/taverns have great burgers, great fries and all sorts of draft beer. And to top it off... the bartenders and waitstaff are not rude, many are very friendly and remember your name when you return. During the years I lived in Detroit, I heard about Miller's. It was always on the list of Best Burgers in Detroit...but I lived in the Northern burbs and Miller's is way down in Dearborn. Well upon landing in Detroit the other day I caught the Mitch Albom radio show, on which the gang was talking best burgers. Of course Miller's came up. So the next day, as I had time before my return flight, I finally checked out Miller's. They have a unique burger. Meat is bought fresh daily from Eastern Market. Patty is 7 oz before cooking, so it's much bigger than a Hunter House (my Northside favorite). Bun is fresh, cheese is tangy. Nothing else on it...you can get an onion slice at your option and there is ketchup, mustard and pickles on each table. It is a pretty good burger, I am very happy that I finally got to try one out. Had onion rings and a beer to complete my meal. Out the door for $15.50 plus tip. Bar is CASH ONLY, so come prepared. There is an ATM on site if you have a case of the shorts. read more

I had dinner here on the way to Greenfield Village just down the road. All I heard about the place was "the burgers are amazing" so I figured I'd stop in and give it a try. When I walked in the bar a waitress told me to sit anywhere (which is always awesome). When I asked for a menu and all she said was "burgers, fries, chips, pop, and alcohol". Now most people would be offended by her answer. I LOVE IT. Simple and easy. I ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium with fries and a coke. Let me tell you people...BURGER AND FRIES WERE GREAT! I wasn't looking for a crazy spiced and exquisite burger. Imagine the best greasiest burger but just cooked at home. The fries were hot and delicious and I couldn't be happier with my meal. We (3) people went to Miller's Bar on Saturday, supposably for their great burgers. I thought it was pretty average. Three of us each ordered a cheeseburger, French fries and a Coke. The fries came out of a bag and were stale, cost $5.00 each. The burgers had veleta cheese and were nothing special, cost $11.00 each. Coke out of a can $3.00. Total bill $57.00. For that price you could go to a nice Restuarant and get a good meal. The parts that bothers me the most is 3 burgers $33.00 really, ridicules. Talk about getting ripped off. Went to Cattleman's and stocked our freezer with meat for the cost of going to Millers Bar for burgers and fries. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I love this place. My Dad has been taking me here since I was a kid. They have the best bar burgers that I have ever had in my life!! They also run the restaurant on the honor system, very cool to see a business still doing something like that. You just simply tell him what you had they give you the bill. Located on the campus of the Henry Ford Community College, Fifty-one O One is a hidden gem of a…read morerestaurant, entirely run by the local culinary school students. Everything is cooked and baked by the chefs-in-training so you can expect little blemishes here and there, but where else can you get Duck Confit for $14 or Surf and Turf for $17 nowadays? I was always interested in going ever since I learned about the restaurant, but their very limited hours (they are only open during the school year for lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and for dinner on Wednesday) prevented me from giving them a try. That changed last Wednesday. We had a reservation for the special Shrimp and Soul Seafood Buffet ($21.95 per person). Parking was a bit of a pain - I guess this place is mostly attended by faculty and other students because we had to call and wait for security to raise the gate to the parking lot. As we walked into the building, we noticed that the restaurant is basically situated to the side of the student commons/cafeteria area. We walked up and found a giant line of people waiting to check in; this was right when they opened at 6PM. This took a while, but after we managed to make it inside, we were directed to the overflow seating outside of the restaurant - it wasn't exactly the classiest of seats; basically just temporary circular fold tables and plastic chairs, with a cheap plastic cover on top of the table. The interior furniture was much better but I guess for these more popular events they have too many people come in. We waited a while for the waitress to get to us as there seemed to be only one or two for the entire restaurant and then finally could go inside to grab food. There were two main lines for food, one to the right with salad and appetizers, and one to the left with the mains. Starting with the right side, which was mostly self service, we had: Spring Mix Salad - Pretty standard green mix with a wide variety of toppings to choose from, including shredded cheese, olives, broccoli, onions, chickpeas, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and a couple of different dressings. Cocktail Shrimp - These were boiled and piled into an attractive ice sculpture, with the shrimp spilling out from the bottom. They were cooked perfectly with the shrimp being served unshelled. They were a bit tricky to peel, but they were deveined well. This came with cocktail sauce and lemon on the side. Macaroni Salad, Cole Slaw, and Potato Salad - All mixed and seasoned well. Soup - The menu listed shellfish clam chowder but instead they had a nice corn chowder with imitation crab. On the left side, where there were students standing behind every dish to serve the food: Cornbread Muffins and Dinner Rolls - The cornbread were very sweet with good cornmeal taste. The rolls were pretty normal in taste and texture, but they looked nicely baked with cornmeal sprinkled on top. Braised Collard Greens - The greens were chopped and stewed until tender with no stringy bits. There was a bit of smokiness and pieces of pork mixed in. Sweet Potato Casserole - This had a nice cinnamony taste with a browned crust on top. Pork Tenderloin - This was thinly sliced and dressed with a peach bbq sauce. It was good to try but kind of dry and tough. Fried Cod - This was beer battered cod with a bit of bitterness. The fish inside was tender and moist. Chicken Breast - Very dry, my least favorite food of the night by far. The last two items were rice pilaf and green beans. In addition, there was a mac & cheese station with mix-ins, including diced tomato, caramelized onion, homemade bacon, broccoli, and imitation crab. The student scoops some precooked, oiled elbow macaroni into a pan, adds the toppings, ladles a cheese roux on top and heats everything up in a skillet. We were told that the bacon is made on site. It's thick cut into cubes so you have sizable chunks of delicious smoky bacon. We found the best part of the meal to be the dessert, served on a table right outside the restaurant (and conveniently located across the entrance from our table). These consisted of a decadent heart shaped white chocolate mousse with raspberry filling, a chocolate mousse with caramel filling, small pecan pie slices, Mississippi mud pie bars, cups of banana pudding, red velvet cupcakes, peach cobbler (served hot), and cheesecake. Everything on this table was delicious and we definitely overindulged. Overall, the food was a bit hit and miss, with the meats being the worst and the desserts being the best. Since this was a buffet rather than their normal service, there were probably some additional consistency issues. Still I think this was a good experience and it made me want to visit again for their standard menu but perhaps not for another buffet.
