Krystal was more than helpful. She had good suggestions for the paint that I needed for the project. Will come again.

I brought in a shade of white (from Sherwin Williams) that the previous owners used and the staff was able to custom make that color so I can continue to use the same shade but with higher quality paint-they even kept the mix recipe in a book in case I need another can in the future! They also keep record of every color sample I buy for future reference. The paint quality is amazing and every can we buy is rich and creamy-never drips. I'm a Benjamin Moore customer for life and this store will continue to get my support and business for as long as I live in the area. Outstanding service. Floyd is the man!

Have been coming here a lot lately because I'm helping friends with the design part of a big…read moreremodel. Paint is the easiest way to transform a room, but selecting a paint color is far from easy! Color is a reflection of the light and color around it it so a particular paint color can look vastly different when you paint it on your walls and it reflects the hardwoods, carpets, furniture, etc in the room. I'm pretty good at seeing the "color" and tone in a sample, meaning is the gray pulling blue, brown, sage, purple? After painting several large swatches on the walls, I felt the gray we chose was pulling too much blue so we went back to the store with the goal of finding the same level of saturation but a few spots over on the color wheel so it would have a brown base. Luke was working that evening and when I explained the intention, he chose a color he felt would meet our needs. He also recommended painting the sample color on large 2x3 sheets of paper so we could move the paper to all areas of the room and see it in different lighting conditions. He said he wasn't trying to get us to spend more money, he was making this suggestion because we mentioned how the colors seemed so off because the existing wall is an orange tan. Sure enough, when we painted the samples on white, and put the papers in the wall, we were able to see the color more realistically. The color he suggested ended up being the perfect greige (gray beige) that we were seeking. We came back a few days later to find a pure white for the trim and were running into the same challenges. There is no pure white because white definitely picks up on the colors around it. We were in luck because Luke was there again! We had narrowed it down to Chantilly Lace and Super White. Without telling him our choices, we asked him which white would show as true white against the greige. Now, there are dozens and dozens of whites. Instantly he said Chantilly Lace. We painted more white sheets, put them on the wall, looked at them at night and in the daylight against the greige walls and hardwood floors. Chantilly Lace was the unanimous decision. Now, before we saw Luke, there was someone else working who was not nearly as helpful. In fact, it seemed like he didn't want to answer any of our questions or assist at all when it came to trying to decipher colors and how they would appear. So I think we had several super experiences because of Marcus. We have several more rooms to go, and we will continue to come back to Dick's Color Center / Sherman Williams because of the great advice and fabulous experience working with Luke.

We recently moved into a home where almost every room had spackled areas from wall hangings. There was no leftover paint and what's more, the paint on the walls had faded somewhat, affecting the color and sheen. We tried an app coupled with a paint fan from another store to try to match the walls. Spent two months experimenting and finally went to Dick's with pieces of our walls. Drew is an artist. He mixed a match for each of the areas and told me how to fan out into the faded part so the eye couldn't tell. Turns out, we didn't even need to fan out! I don't know how he did it, but the color and the sheen matched for all walls. It was a relief to us. Everyone at the shop is professional, on it and friendly. Also, apparently quarts are hard to get nowadays, but we were able to get them at Dick's--great because we didn't need to paint large surfaces. Make this your paint store! You will be VERY pleased! I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to house maintenance…read more We had to repaint a bedroom wall and so I came here since they sell the paint I needed and the old paint can listed their SE location. First visit, I ordered online, the cashier told me to just call them next time since purchasing online cost more (not exactly sure about that, haven't compared prices). Then I went back for more paint because... I don't know what I'm doing and wasted a lot of paint. The 2nd time around, I asked many more questions and asked for tips. I was also trying to coordinate with my partner over the phone while in store with an employee helping me. - The employee so patient and understanding with me being on the phone. They then proved their patience with me going to my car and coming back inside THREE TIMES with more questions. Prices are reasonable, the tools sold there are about the same price as Ace Hardware. The employees are super nice and so very helpful. They had recommendations and answers for everything. There was no pressure to buy more or go for the more expensive option. They had tools that were on the price spectrum, there were cheaper options, midgrade and more expensive. They pointed out each tool, gave their rec and left it up to me to decide. I love that I can buy paint AND materials without feeling like I paid extra for materials because of the convenience. They get busy but they are also well staffed and take their time with customers. I never had to wait more than a few minutes. They also have some Spanish speaking staff and it sounded like they have good relationships with their Spanish speaking customers. Here's what I learned: -One quart of paint technically covers about 100 ft², but in reality, probably more like 60 to 80 ft², especially considering if you don't know what you're doing. My first mistake - getting one quart, 2nd visit, I definitely got the full size can. -After you're done painting use the rollers to go all in one direction one last time to avoid seeing any strokes. Stick with a matte color to especially avoid seeing any strokes. -If you're repainting a wall, it's best to paint the entire wall otherwise you might see the old paint versus the new.
