We like coming to the pool here because of the waves, lazy river, obstacle course, and its a clean facility.

Fab place! very modern, excellent facilities. The only thing this place this is missing is a squash court. Otherwise the best gym ever!

Best facility I've been to in Alberta. It's very well maintained, lots of parking, and something for everyone to do! Love MP!

The staff are incredibly positive and encouraging (special shout-outs to Melinda and Josh!). The 30-minute training sessions are intense but they actually fly by with the trainers keeping you pumped up and focused the entire time - all you have to do is show up and move your body! Sessions always start on time and the gym atmosphere is great. I joined 360 Fitness because I felt generally flabby, lazy and out of shape. Although I already had a good amount of knowledge in sports and nutrition, I really needed some outside accountability to get me going. The 6-week challenge was really the kick-start I needed to re-gain my confidence and 'fitness momentum'. In just this short time I've seen a major change in how my body feels and moves, and I am so much more motivated than before to keep working toward my goals. 5 stars, A+, this place is great!

I couldn't do that. I decided we would join together! I'm so glad we did. We went together to meet with Rich for an info session. He showed us around the facility and explained a bit about how they work. He got to know us and understand our motivations for being there. We signed up for their 6 week metabolic makeover challenge and got to work. The gym has good hours and their app made scheduling a breeze. The trainers make you feel welcome and don't get annoyed if you don't know how to do something, or need a little extra guidance. I highly recommend this gym!

Lots of machines such as threadmills and bikes so you never have to wait for one. The change rooms are spotless. They have saunas, steamrooms and showers in the women's one. Haven't looked in the men's, might get into trouble if I did! They also offer various exercise classes, spin ones as well as hot yoga. And after all the hard working out, you can even relax in a massage chair. Well earned I must say!! Great location in the Sherwood Park Mall, which offers lots of parking! Sooo if your New Year's resolution is to get healthy, this should be your starting point. Free session with a trainer too. What are you waiting for? I've got my membership!

I had gained a significant amount of weight, lost my love for the gym and had absolutely no motivation. Life was kicking my butt, and I was letting it. After some pushing and encouragement from my family, I decided to chat with the fitness manager at my local Goodlife to sign up for personal training. I was very skeptical. Scratch that, I was extremely skeptical of agreeing to work with a personal trainer. With the combination of bad experiences with personal trainers/coaches and injuries I wasn't looking forward to going through the process of vetting a personal trainer. Then I was introduced to Nathan. The first session I remember walking in thinking I don't know, maybe I should just cut my losses. I went in not expecting much. Oh boy was I wrong. Within in a few minutes I felt heard and understood. I gave him my goals and we workshopped together what would work and what might prove difficult for me. I have a handful of injuries that can make training a bit of a challenge for me. There are movements I need to avoid or be quite cautious with. Nathan is responsive and proactive to ensure I do not reinjure or injure myself. He's quick to grab the weight if I ever need a hand and is always willing to re-explain anything. I appreciate being told exactly WHY a movement is good for me versus just do this because it's good for me. I would personally recommend Nathan for pretty much anyone because he is knowledgeable, passionate about helping his clients and is great at making his sessions enjoyable. He has made going to the gym fun again, I feel like a little kid excited to go to the jungle gym every time I see that it's time for a session. Never thought I'd love going to the gym again. With his guidance I feel like I can personal accomplish all my goals I have set and even more.

We have been doing group fitness on and off for about 7 years now, in several cities in different countries, and this has been our favourite so far. Spinunity is like a big family and they will literally know your name within a few classes. They work so hard to build a community of riders and wonderful staff, that you want to come back day after day just to see everyone and feed off their energy. The parking here is directly outside. It's literally a 2 second walk from the door. So nice when it's -30. The bikes and equipment here are really good. You don't have to have cycling shoes and they don't make you wear theirs. It's much better to use them but I like that it's optional at Spinunity. They run three different types of classes, Fusion: which includes two weight tracks and lots of choreography and combinations on the bike. Spin and Strength which is approx half on the bike, half weights or body weight conditioning exercises. Spin and Yoga which is half on the bike half on the mat stretching. I've done all three many times but find even if I just do Fusion it's enough of a full body workout that I progress physically. Adding a weekly Strength or Yoga class is even better. I was scared to walk through the doors the first time and would not have considered myself physically fit ever in my entire life. Spinunity keeps me interested and coming back for more. When I am able to do spin here 3-4 times a week I feel strong, healthy and for the first time ever, fit!

But not only are you biking you're doing weights or hilt if you've been to a spin fusion or spin and strength class. What a great combo, cardio and body weight hilt all in an hour. Not only are you sweating and melting the pounds away but sculpting your muscles too. Plus its fun! Spinunity is an awesome workout studio, they have a smoothie bar if you need an after class boost and if you have kids they offer child minding (I'm not 100% sure how it works but I think you have to pre-register your youngins first?). Indoor biking is where it's at! Especially when the weather hits the Chills. If you feel like a change from Running, Zumba or whatever cardio you do come check out Spinunity! The instructor are amazing!

That and I have yet to experience the loud grunting and shouting and the throwing down of the weights that I've experienced at other gyms...come one people...really. No one is impressed I've been to a few different gyms and there's a lot I didn't like about them. I like spa lady (even more so now that they've extended their hours) because the staff at this location are great, they greet you with a smile, make conversation (they even find ways to compliment you) ayes that sounds girly but come on...it makes you feel good don't lie. I like them the most because when I've been stuck on a work out or don't know how to use a machine all I've had to do was ask and doesn't matter who's around or what they're doing they have no problem helping. The change rooms and lockers are large and always clean. They have a sauna and provide hair dryers and straighteners, what more could you ask for....funny you should ask...there's no WiFi, this location is missing some of the equipment that the other location has (granted I get that it's a small gym but do you really need 3 leg extension machines and not one calf raise machine...come on). I personally would like to see a water bottle service of some kind (even if its a vending machine full of water bottles, it sucks when you leave your's at home and have to keep running to the fountain, having a fall back would be nice). Other than that, if you like having a clean machine I do recommend wiping down your machine before you use it...there are a lot of people that don't wipe down their machines when they are done :/

Curves is a unique place. The motto the founder started this franchise on was "No Makeup, No men,…read moreNo Mirrors" It is the gym for the ungymed. A place where non-muscle heads can feel at home. There is a high percentage of elderly people but I brought my daughter with me and we work out together. It is also unusual in that it is pretty low-frills. No elaborate change room (curtain) or showers to up your membership fees. You come, work out and go home. The new owners are sprucing the place up and will be painting at the end of November 2012. Many of the members are used to working out with each other and a sense of community has been formed there. It is a really homey atmosphere as the management lets members display things they have for sale, there is a book trading shelf as well as a "I've grown out of this, do you want it" rack. The workout on the circuit is as strenuous or light as you would like. It is all hydraulics so the faster and harder you work, the harder it becomes. I have seen women basically sail through it without even breaking a sheen, never mind a sweat. I have also seen women work hard and get what is obviously a great workout in. You can purchase memberships on a month-to-month basis for $49, which is what I am doing. If you purchase a year in advance it is a bit lower of a rate. In the end, it depends what type of experience and gym you are looking for. I would recommend this one for those that are easily intimidated by gyms, haven't previously attended a gym, have special physical needs (obesity, seniors, recovering from illness) or you just want a low key place to get a workout in.

The classes tend to be less busy here, there is always lots of parking, and it's quick to hit the freeway back to Edmonton. It's also the home base for my favourite instructor Lisa, who is always positive and motivating, and really pays attention to peoples' form and offers feedback and modifications. She's absolutely the best! Becky is another great professional instructor. I like the staff in this location generally. One complaint I have is that a few months back, I noticed the class time slots were cut over the weekend - I wish there were classes past 1330h. I also think the floors and walls could be washed more regularly. I hate stretching out on walls covered with sweaty dirt marks from previous patrons, and getting coated in flooring chunks when doing floor work/stretches. The shower areas could be more clean too. Love the workout, been going for about 8 months now, and I have yet to be bored. I'm more of an outdoorsy sports person than a gym rat, so the fact I keep coming back is a real credit to the OT model.
