Pool I've been meaning to check out in sherwood park. Wave pool, different from Millwoods pool. Reminds me of West Edmonton Mall. Alarm goes off and the waves start coming. Not as big as WEM but still super cool. Can be very crampt on weekends looks like. Lots of families there. They have a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a lazy river. They basically have it all. Lanes were closed for dropins. Its a big sports center, if I was in the park more often I woulf check it out. Definitely a gem to check out. read more

Great equipment, great clientele, great ambience to get motivated for health and fitness. I have been working out for 50 years and this is my favorite place to be. The pool is alot of fun, sauna is steam and hits all bells and whistles, go early! Great staff, always very helpful. Kids and young adults are respectful. read more

Booked a birthday party last weekend (Jan 19 2025) unfortunately didn't get a chance to make it to the pool due to someone pooping in it, so both kids were frustrated and upset so went and waited in the party area while the kids played at the indoor playground I kept checking in to see if it was ready and asked them to please let me know when the pool was ready, but when it came to the end of my booking I saw that the pool was open (i don't know how long it was open for) but no one came to let us know that the pool was open so we left without two upset kids without a chance to swim (what we came for) read more

Well it's January again and time to get your fitness on! Millennium places a fantastic facility for swimming, going to the gym, running inside taking a class or skating. They have a great public skating area which is perfect for this year since there's not a lot of ice outside. They have a fun kids play area as well as a cafeteria to purchase snacks and drinks. I love using the olympic size pool to swim laps and then warm up in the steam room or the hot tub. This gym can be a little bit busier at times but there are a lot of separate spaces to work out. There's a few different free weight sections as well as weighted machines and a variety of cardio equipment spread around the gym. You can also borrow additional equipment if you need for a specialized exercise. The fitness classes can also be a ton of fun energizing as well as giving variety. The Zumba classes are really fun or you can attend a guided strength workout. They also have yoga and stretching if you want something a little more relaxing. read more

I'll admit that I've long known this facility to be really useful and well maintained, bright and spacious. That said this review covers the space we visited when we came here to attend a Pinball Expo essentially. They used two ice rinks' worth of space and we were easily able to enter and explore and play in the ice rinks. The toddler enjoyed walking up and down the barrier between the two rinks to explore both sides of this space and we really enjoyed the expo itself. Canadians don't let winter get in the way of a good workout. And whether I've been in Churchill, Whitehorse, Medicine Hat, or Sherwood Park, I have always found a big full service indoor community recreation centre available. My first visit to Millennium Place was during December when the sun came up at 9 AM, went down at 4 PM and it was -40 C outside. It was after work and after plugging the car in at the hotel, I decided to stay in. The room was comfy, the hotel restaurant and bar served my needs, and a quick indoor walk led me to the Millennium Center for a workout and some great people watching. This place has almost anything you want - indoor ice rinks/soccer fields, gym, pool, track, fitness equipment, etc. The hours are also convenient for almost any schedule and the one-off price is very reasonable. read more

I visit Millenium Place regularly, even though I'm a proud Edmonton resident. MP in Sherwood Park just does the rec. centre a little better. They have the basics covered. It's clean, afforadable, bright and spacious. The employees are mostly friendly and helpful. There is always someone stationed at designated spots to assist. I frequent the children friendly areas of MP, as I often travel with a small herd of children. I'm as comfortable in their pool section as I can get in any public swimming space. At peak times (weekends, holidays) it's loud and crowded and not very enjoyable at all. I would suggest avoiding these times altogether as to not tarnish your opinion of this super fun space and instead plan a trip on a random weekday (if you have the luxury of doing so). Neat pool toys and many options keep everyone in our clan entertained for a few hours. The play place is relatively new, is supervised and seems really fun. The skating rink(s) are delightful. A pond and a larger rink are both well maintained. The food court is sub-par. The food offered is greasy and just not very good quality. I've seen this at other rec centres as well. I'm so confused as to why fitness facilities offer trashy food. We pack our own lunch always. I do appreciate that they have a Second Cup. I would recommend Millenium Place to friends and do intend to visit again and again. read more

You want a perfect definition of a buzzing community rec centre, go here! Every day, from open to close it is always buzzing. When this place first opened I was amazed. I lived on the north side of Edmonton and would come here bright early 3 times a week to work out or play morning shinny hockey. Now that I've been a Sherwood Park resident for the past 10 years, I continue to come to this place because of it's selection of activities under one roof. Swimming, jogging, exercising, hockey, indoor soccer, group classes, courts...it's the perfect community centre for Sherwood Park. It accommodates any age group perfectly. Children will love the indoor play area, swimming pool and skating rink. While adults ranging from 18-85 will enjoy the expanded exercise spaces, huge line of cardio equipment and the indoor track. The swimming pool has lane swimming, sauna, steam room and hot tub. Plus a large wave pool to play in. Since they did the renovation/expansion a couple years ago, this place has gotten better. They included a drop-in kids area and large gymnasium and more group exercise class rooms. Plus expanded free weight areas. So it won't matter what time of the day you come, you should be able to get in a decent workout. The best part of this place is that it opens at 5am and closes at 11pm. I really enjoy coming here first thing in the morning, the crowd is small and its nice and quiet. If you want to take in some great morning shinny hockey, go here! They start at 610-630am and it goes until 830am. I suggest you get here early, like when they open at 5am, it can get filled up quickly. read more

I have been a downtown, central Edmonton girl for almost 10 years now. I was pretty hesitant to move away from all my convenient places, let alone to Sherwood Park. One of the things that was giving me the most anxiety was having to find another gym as good as the one I was leaving. I didn't know where to start looking when I moved, until my personal trainer fiance told me to go to Millennium Place. I was still skeptical of a public gym being the place to send my muscles, but I was convinced as soon as I walked in. This facility is awesome! The gym is large, even larger now that they just expanded. It is often very busy but I have rarely had a problem getting a machine or weights. There is a track connected to the gym that overlooks soccer fields. The track has a small "hill" which I really appreciate for those days that I am doing sprints. It really beats being on a treadmill. There is a large pool here as well with hot tub/sauna/steam room. There are also a couple places in a food court, one of which serves pretty good sushi. I am always a bit sad though to smell french fries at a place that is focusing on personal fitness. There is also a Running Room attached that carries a full line of work out clothes and shoes. Like I said, this place is often busy. That business extends well beyond the gym as there is hockey here as well. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but if you are willing to walk from the very very back then you should have no problems at peak times of day (extra cardio??). I really enjoy working out here by myself and with my personal fiance trainer as well! read more

Our family loves going to Milennium place! It's an inexpensive venue with a slew of activities for the whole family. Kids under 12 are $3 (I think) and adults are about $8: that's for the whole day! You can choose from the following activities: swimming, ice skating, indoor play space and an indoor gym. i have a 5 yr old and 12 yr old and they both love it. The play space is great for my 5 yr old, while my 12 yr old really likes the pool and skating, so we can do it all. The place is always clean and they have a good selection of healthy food in their "food court" area. A short trip from east Edmonton for a fun day of activity! read more

This is really as good as it gets when it comes to working out. Millennium Place has everything you could ask for. They have an indoor skating rink & indoor soccer fields, a gymnasium, a large workout area with tons of fitness equipment, an indoor swimming pool, a track, food court, and outdoor soccer fields. The wellness center and track are open from 5:30am - 11pm and swimming and skating are open 9am-9pm, which allows for any busy person to get a workout. I honestly cannot think of anything to complain about and at about $30 for monthly membership or approximately $7 for any given day it is much cheaper than most other fitness centers that offer a fraction of the facilities. I usually go with a couple of my friends and we do everything from playing basket ball to soccer to lifting weights and we never have to wait for machines or benches to open up. I have never found myself waiting around for something to free up. We occasionally go for a swim and they have lanes set up as well as a general pool. If you need motivation to start working out I suggest you take a tour of this place and you will be convinced. read more

I wasn't expecting such a facility when I moved to Sherwood Park. I am not sure what I was expecting, but Millennium Place was not it! This facility has quite a lot of stuff! For about $8, you have the run of the gym, the wave pool, the saunas, the hot tub, the ice rink, and some sort of kids play place. Best of all to me, are the drop in classes happening every day. There are several geared toward those who are older and active, and several geared for those wanting to prime their bodies. I take the adult swim in the lane pool which happens three mornings out of five, and the bootcamp which happens two mornings out of five, with another two or so in the evenings. I can't say much about the weekends, as it is usually swamped with kids, and I don't go. The Millennium Pass is handy. For $40 a month, you get unlimited access not only to Millennium with its long hours, but also two other pools and fitness centers in the area. So you can work out or swim pretty much all the time. There is no contract nor start up fee. Just a void cheque and a picture taken. Then you can go and scan your handy card as many times as you like. And best of all, there is no cancellation fee. So when I am in town for a few months, I can swim, and when I leave, it is simple! read more

Family-friendly, inexpensive to use, and with a variety of activities from which to choose (swimming, ice skating, weights, and more), the only major downside to Millennium Place is the long drive. It is open year round and has a decent concession facility, is connected to a hotel, and also hosts numerous special events like craft shows. read more

I've always enjoyed Millennium (had a membership years ago when I worked in the park) but forgot about everything that you can do there until a friend invited me to come for coffee while her son was playing (so many things to do!!!) I figured I couldn't go without actually utilizing the facilities... So I opted for a drop in aqua fit class in the morning. I liked the online schedule so I could have a look at all my options ahead of time. And I loved the large change room, the multiple showers (no waiting!) and the pool facilities. There's lots of mirror and counter space to do your hair/makeup (but you will be in the way of everyone coming and going as you're right in front of the shoe racks). Although I was the youngest (by far), class was still fun and there was probably around 20 people (but we were so spread out that it only felt like a handful of people were in the pool). And Sasha was a great instructor. Heads up - if you have a larger wallet (or longer, in my case), it won't fit in the wallet lockers. And if you are getting a locker in the pool change room (and didn't bring a lock), it takes 2 quarters. read more

Awesome facility! There are tons of amenities to chose from, including: a pool, gym, youth zone, skating rink, and indoor fields. The facility is kept very clean and the equipment is well maintained. There's tons of parking available. Prices are also low in comparison to some of the City of Edmonton facilities. In the pool area, there are lanes for swimming, a diving area, hot tub, sauna, you name it. The wave pool is a lot of fun, especially when you're floating around on a toy (of which there are plenty). In addition, there's an awesome little water park for kiddies to play on! You can use your own skates on the skating rink, but if you don't have any, you can rent some for a small fee. Be warned, it does take time for an attendant to come grab the skates for you, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. My one qualm is that they don't always stick to the schedule they post for drop in rec activities. Call in to make sure that the program is going to run when scheduled! read more

Its been too long since i have ventured into one, and on my recent trip back home to Edmonton, I got to stop in Sherwood Park's premier sports facility to see a cousin's game. We currently hold a Millennium Pass and it comes out of our bank by automatic withdrawal each month. You can also pay for a year at a time if you choose. One of the bonuses of this pass is you can put it on hold (for example over the summer months when you'll be spending way more time outdoors) without penalty. The pool is great but could definitely use a larger slide to appeal to an older crowd. The play structure and attached slides in the pool are geared towards the younger kids. You can play in the waves, on the structure, or in the lazy river. There is a hot tub, sauna, and steam room, as well as another pool for lane swimming. If you show up here to swim on a weekday at 9 am, you will find you almost have the pool to yourself (provided there are no field trips scheduled for the day). The skating "pond" is quaint and when it gets busy enough the open up the adjoining rink. You can also rent skates here if you don't have any or have forgotten yours. The indoor playground is great for those around 8 and under and I like that they have a smaller baby/toddler area that is slightly separate from the rest of the area. The teen lounge has a selection of video games, a fooseball table, and air hockey. It is located right next to the gym where you can play basketball, badminton, and floor hockey, among other things, or climb on the jungle gym structure. Hubby and teen daughter have enjoyed yoga class here (included in the Millennium pass) and there are often decent outside events hosted here (ie. model train show, outdoorsmen show). read more

This review is based on the kids play area and the wave pool since I haven't been to any of the other parts of this seemingly amazing facility. Our nearest pool was closed for renovations so we devices to check this place or since we had seen it when we were in the kids playground last month and it looked amazing. Well folks with children, this place beats the pants off any of the other children's pools in Edmonton by a long shot and that includes the kids space at West Ed Waterpark. The family change room has these enormous change rooms with a bench, hooks, baby change table and garbage can. My only complaint and the reason for the 4 star review is that there are not enough rooms for busy periods. I think there are a total of 6 rooms. So if you're not lucky, you'll end up waiting for a room, with shivering kids until one opens up after your post swim shower. The wave pool is nice and warm. No cold shock getting into it after your cleansing shower. By the way, the showers are excellent. Nice pressure, hot water and I think the water temperature can be adjusted but we liked it the way it was. There is a big climbing structure with a double slide and a covered and lots of other water features. I don't know how to best describe the wave pool but it was super fun and there are loads of water toys to play with including canoes, tubes, rafts, a motorcycle, etc. The pool was busy today but there was an abundance of pool toys to go around. The lazy river combined with the waves was really fun to go around in too. Definitely grab a tube or something to hang onto to enhance the experience. We really enjoyed our morning here and I can say with certainty that we would be back here more often than any other facility in town for our swim times. Last month, we took the kids to burn off some energy at the indoor playground. Excellent space with a couple of climbers, a big climbing wall, a baby space, a nature themed area and a cabin themed area. My kids had a lot of fun here. I appreciated the bathroom in the playground to reduce time spent wandering around for a bathroom, thereby reducing play time. I also appreciated that the space had a staff member present the whole time we were there. He was paying attention and smiled at the kids but otherwise let the kids play. We watched skaters on the skating pond next door and found out that there are public skate times and they have plastic skating aids for the little kids so I think we will be back soon to check that out. Overall we are pretty impressed with millennium place and will be back in the future for our recreational needs. Too bad it wasn't a little closer! read more

Took my little one for the first time to the wandering river. Great pool set up for babies, infants and toddlers. 30 min there my 8 month old had worn himself out with all the wonderful colours, sounds and atmosphere. Good place to have a family day! read more

Terribly unfriendly staff that make you feel unwelcome. I was accused of not paying and made to feel terrible after front end staff neglected to give me a wrist band. Very embarrassing after being faithful to this gym. Not recommended if you appreciate a welcoming environment. read more

I recently in the last few weeks got out of my membership at millenium. The building is really nice but unfortunetly if you do not want to have 200 people around you working out you would have to go at 6 am.... I just do not want to do that. They have overloaded there gym and I really noticed that in the last few months. I work a day job and can not get to to the gym until evening. The price is right and the classes are great. It may be a gym I wouild try again If I could go anytime besides evenings. read more

I was quite surprised to see how high people rate a millennium place. I use the pool 5 to 7 times a week and every time I'm shocked by something new. I find the lifeguards to be very inconsistent, some follow and enforce the rules, others stand in groups chit chatting. I've seen teens making out in the lane pool more than once and noone says anything about it. I've been swimming laps when young "Tweens" hop in and take over-again noone says anything. The change rooms often smell like urine despite the fact I often see people cleaning. My 20 month old niece loves the tree fort play area so I guess it depends on what your looking for when you use the facility. I haven't been skating or to the actual gym for years so I don't feel confident commenting on those as things have undoubtedly changed read more

Well overall the facilities are great, I've used the pool, workout area and soccer arenas but customer service is really important to me. The major issue is All the people. I don't know when this place is not packed. I've bought tickets for the pool and after I purchased them I was told there was a 25 min wait? Huh? what? Why didn't you tell me that before I bought the entrance fee? So finally allowed in the pool. As I am swimming my laps, great cardio folks, I am dodging the kids jumping in and out of the pool. Splash...Kablaam... its like a blitzkreg of teens and I am the allie sub meant to be sunk. I look at the lifeguard like call off the troops and well they had nothing to say, so I do. Next thing I know a group of lifeguards are talking to me about harassing the teens...excuse me? what? Well I guess he sided with them because they are all the same age. After my harassment now a buzzer goes off " Everyone out of the pool"...theres a floater, a floater is not a good thing by the way its a human made snickers bar pushed out the back end incase anyone was unsure, and they need to clean the pool. Ughhhhhh Im done with this pool. This how ever is an ideal place to bring your family cause the kids are everywhere. The kids pool is full of interactive activities. Where's the pool for 18 + crowd. I respect the notion of family but what about the rest of us. Will I be back to swim...NOPE...but when my 2 yr old nephew needs a jungle to be in, Ill make sure we stop at Millennium. read more

Pretty decent pool overall. The wave pool area is great fun -- geared towards smaller kids. Though it can be a bit crowded and noisy - your kids will love it . On the other hand, I tend to go late to swim laps once the wave pool is closed. No more noisy kids. And lanes are open till 11! Which is perfect for me. Lap pool is only 25m. The gym at Millenium Place is amazing, clean and gigantic. You never have to wait for a machine while working out in the morning. your millennium pass also gets you access to all of the other facilities there including soccer fields, gymnasiums and ice rinks, not to mention a huge water park for kids and lap pool for adults with hot tub and sauna/steam room. What more could you ask for out of a gym membership! unfortunately getting an actual millennium pass is like pulling teeth and the customer service people at the front don't seem to know anything about customer service. When you go to get a millennium pass make sure you have a letter from your bank saying it is ok to sign up as well as a piece of photo ID. The only way to actually pay them to sign up is to pay a year up front, if you want to go month to month they need direct withdrawals... so while It may be worth the hoops you have to jump through in order to get a millennium pass, it's typical government bureaucracy in order to get it done. read more

there are 8 soccer fields and it smells like an outhouse. Surprising as there are no bathroom facilities except for inside. The parking is a disaster with cars looping around trying to find an elusive empty stall. Won't be long until a kid is run over playing frogger in the parking lot. The fields are nice but definitely not spectator friendly. It was really difficult for grand parents to scale the stairs then walk on uneven ground. read more

I love this facility. It's true it can be busy, usually on weekends And during the summer months, but what do you expect? I try to take the kids on weekdays while school is in, and it's really not busy at all. During the summer mornings and evenings tend to be a little less busy. I lane swim here minimum three times a week. The lane pool can also get busy, but Millenium offers a weekly schedule which allows a swimmer to know how many public lanes are open at specific times of day. Plan your swim around those times and it's highly likely you will get your own lane. The indoor playground is a great place for kids to play on cold miserable days. They also have babysitting for parents who want to exercise but need a place for their kids. They have a gym, an indoor track, indoor skating rink, soccer facilities, tons of things so get out and enjoy! The cost is very reasonable especially compared to the prices in the city. read more

We went to take our small kids to the pool. After reading and hearing such great things, I suppose I had high expectations. The swimming pool was packed to the extreme, I would think to the point of being dangerous. There are so many toys allowed, that on top of the number of people it made navigating the pool very difficult. The tree house was very interesting, but there are slides which go off each side of it .... which means the kids can down any which way and as a parent of toddlers I couldn't be at the bottom of each slide. Also, there is almost no natural light in this facility. The absolute worst part of our visit was the family change room. One narrow walkway which has lockers on one side and individual change rooms on the other. People coming, going, and waiting all crammed into a very narrow space. If I ever go back (which I won't) I would never choose the family change room. The only positive thing I have to say is that the cost was a little cheaper than at the Edmonton facilities. read more

This place has everything, wonderful gym, fields, pools, staff and indoor playgrounds. Also, if you get hungry you can eat there too. Compared to the gyms/ community centres...the price is very reasonable. read more
