The staff is mostly Latino, so your child will be receiving an English speaking education, with some Spanish influence. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this institution. They truly care about your child, and the staff is amazingly attentive to their education. I am truly pleased with the progress that my child has made in the years that she has been here. The staff is very responsive to questions and does their best to include everyone. The school is a very diverse collective of staff and students, and they encourage learning about different cultures and events. My biggest concern is my child being safe; no problem there. The staff is attentive and make sure that the children are given everything they need. I'm a little apprehensive that this is my daughter's last year here. I hope that her next institution is half as good as Meadows!

My three grandchildren have been students for the past 6 years and their education has been excellent. Galileo believes that all of their students have talents waiting to be discovered and the teachers and support staff help them find "themselves". They provide the guidance, the tools, the support and the FUN that all Florida students would love to be part of. Galileo is currently opening their second campus because there are so many children in Seminole County that want to be part of this fantastic school. Their parents have heard about the student success at Galileo, entered their kids into an enrollment lottery that has twice the number of applicants as slots. If that isn't a testimony of success I don't know what is! If you are interested in visiting the school for the 1921/22 school year (they have a full student body for this 1920/21 year) look at the school website, the parent reviews and the state of Florida statistics. I am confident your children will have the same fantastic, memorable educational experience my grandkids are.

While exploring Soldiers Creek Park I discovered an amazing educational resource for the students…read moreof Seminole County. As someone who works with kids, I was interested in learning about this unique and beloved program, the Seminole Environmental Studies Center. Seminole County's first Environmental Studies Center was a 1926 cottage that once served as Oviedo High School's lunch room. In 1976, the county and school district approved an agreement to develop 242 acres at Big Tree East into Soldier's Creek County Park which is part of Spring Hammock Preserve. School district science director Bettie Palmer and long-time Seminole League member Pat Burkett won grants from the U.S. Department of Interior and the Florida Department of Education to start the Environmental Studies Center. The school district paid to move the 1926 cottage to the park. When the environmental center officially opened in 1977, the old lunch room served as an office and classroom. A small staff including Pat Burkett, taught students about native wildlife, the water cycle and the benefits of fire. The following summer, the Department of Interior hired 40 Seminole County teens to work 40 hours a week at minimum wage building trails, boardwalks and a pavilion on the property. The new Soldiers Creek Park was the perfect place for an environmental studies center because of its many different habitats. These include oak palmetto scrub, pine forest, mixed hardwood hammock with magnolias, basswood and sweet gum, hydric hammock, cypress swamp, and a lake. All throughout were small sulfur springs. The old cabin was used until 2004, when the county built a new, 6,500-square foot center named for Pat Burkett who retired that year. Today the program operates as a partnership between the School Board and Seminole County Government. It has grown to include school field trips which are designed for students K-12 to help them learn about the environment and its importance in their lives. Scientific based learning takes place through hands-on, inquiry-based exploration both inside and outside the building. Inside the Center's Natural History Museum students can hold a snake, see an alligator and meet Otus the Eastern Screech Owl. Outdoors there is a learning laboratory. During the fifth grade program, students explore a variety of dry and wet habitats over two days. The popular wet day is known as the Mud Walk and included every habitat in the park. Through the years when budget cuts threatened the program, strong community support has kept the program operating so generations of Seminole County schoolchildren could enjoy the Mud Walk.

I do not like to give bad reviews, but this facility for children and parents need to be warned!…read more We toured this "school" and absolutely refused to send our children there. The facility is an old home that has been turned into a daycare. It felt cramped and looked extremely dirty. Some of the examples are: The floors and area rugs/play rugs were excessively dirty, literal dirt, leaves, hair, etc and this is where the children are expected to nap and play. We were told that the floors were cleaned and mopped twice per day but this was very clearly not the case. The bathrooms were not kept up, toilets were not flushed when there were feces in one of them and there was urine on the seat of the other bathroom. The soap in each bathroom was water based and there was nothing to dry your hands on. The outdoor "playground" had filthy broken toys. The toys looked as though they were plucked from yard sales or garbage day collections. The toys had excessive dirt, mold and even bugs on them. It was not a safe place for children to play. The staff here were friendly and the owner, Mrs. Hamilton was a very nice person. She could not, however, answer questions such as how long her 2 other teachers had been there or been teaching in general, and she could not answer what the curriculum/objective for each class was. She had referenced the finances of her business leading us to believe they are not a sustainable business, which is probably why it was so dirty and run down. As far as being a "Christian" school, we saw one cross on the wall and no pictures or books about Christianity. When we asked about the Christian aspects of the daycare, Mrs. Hamilton said they sing "church songs." Mrs. Hamilton only spends part of her day the "school" and spends the other half of her day picking children up from school to bring back to the daycare. She genuinely means well I think, but between the lack of leadership, cleanliness, safety, and curriculum, this place needs to be shut down. I do not know how this "school" has 4+ reviews online. I can't comprehend this unless relatives and friends of the owner/staff left the reviews of themselves. I do not recommend this "school" at all and would encourage parents to skip the tour and move on with your school search.

And after sending numerous messages, emails and phone calls to her counselor I still haven't gotten any responses. When I go to the school and ask to speak with whoever is in charge I keep getting stonewalled. Basically I feel like my tax dollars are hard at work supplying jobs for the disgrace we call "TEACHERS". Very sad and overwhelming a disappointment
