I was fortunate enough to meet a young lady that had referred me to Dr. Steven Chittenden. I called an he immediately got me in that same day. I had went to him 3 times a week, for several weeks. At one point Dr Chittenden felt I needed to go to a physical therapist. I did go, it was not helpful at all. Dr. Chittenden has since referred me to a Spine specialist. What I want to really let people know, is that Dr. Chittenden is the kind of Doctor that TRUELY cares. He has made it a point to call an check up on me. During PT, he would call to see how it was going, he has since continued to check on my progress. I've had scoliosis since kid (very common when you wear heavy backpack on one shoulder or play a single dominant arm sport like Tennis), and I also have L6 (its a congenital anomaly, most people are born with 5 Lumbars on lower back but I was born with 6, so L5 and L6 are always fighting for the single spot). So, needless to say I am in forever in constant need of care because when my lower back is overworked or pulled when I am careless, I'm in immediate pain. I have been seeing Dr. Serena Penn and she is very knowledgeable and has adjusted my lower back and helped me with my knee pain (which is caused my my lower back and glutes from prolonged sitting). She's also given me very easy, passive exercise that I can do on daily basis and they have significantly improved my condition. If you have lower back pain or if you're in need of adjustment, I would suggest to go here. I also really appreciate that they're not judgemental about pains you describe because joint, muscle and nerve pains are sometimes extremely hard to describe because they come and go. They listen and make sure to correctly diagnose you before adjustment. Lastly, very friendly staff, and you know exactly how much you will be charged before you go in for care so no surprise bills that randomly show up in the mail. I got diagnosed with a very serious health issue and decided that I would continue my care with him as the chiropractic side of it went great. I've been going to him for this for a couple of months and now that my health issues are getting worse I've had serious issues sleeping and can only sleep for like 10-15 minutes at a time then up for hours and it is keeping me from being able to go to work because I don't have the energy as I'm not getting close to the amount of rest I need. I went to doctor young and I explained to him that I needed something to help me sleep at night because I was getting 0 to an hour of sleep a night and I needed to be able to go to work and function. He prescribes me a "natural sleep aid" and says this will help me sleep. So I spend 25+ dollars for the medicine and go home and take it as soon as I get home because I hadn't slept in 24 hours and had to miss another day of work so I figured I'd utilize the day to sleep and rest. Long story short I ended up taking about 5-6 of these pills that were supposed to help me sleep and never got tired and was up all day and all night. Insurance doesn't cover the natural medicine so all the medicine has to be paid for out of pocket. So I was very upset that I paid 25+ dollars for 30 pills I call and asked for him to prescribe me and actual medicine at the pharmacy that would actually help me get some sleep and his response was that the medicine he prescribed takes up to 6 days to start working..... 6 freakin days!!!!!! I told him from the beginning that I needed something to help me sleep that night not in 6 days. Never have I felt so upset when he knows what I've been diagnosed with and the issues I was having. Dr Young is about lining his pockets and not helping his patients. Not to mention that he is as filling out my leave paperwork and instead of putting down a realistic time frame that I'd be off work which is around two months he puts down that I'd be on leave for a year!!!! Like it was denied immediately!!! What kind of idiot is this clown. I was sitting there to answer any questions and he never asked how long my treatment would be and I assumed because he was my primary he was in touch with the other doctors but apparently not. This guy totally screwed up my paperwork on top of selling me something the wasn't helpful. I would NEVER go back to this guy. He has totally set me back and now I'm left scrambling to find a new primary care doctor and only have so many days to resubmit my paperwork. Very unprofessional to say the least!!!!!
