The vanilla soft serve was very creamy, which I appreciated. As for the hard ice cream options, they have quite a few, but I didn't pay attention to them the first and boy, did I regret when I came back a second time. The flavors were really good as well. I know some people complained about the customer service, but we found the staff quite friendly both times. I highly recommend this place!

Though advertised as homemade ice cream, their product seems to come from a company called Yoders. Disappointing, but the ice cream was still tasty. The Kahlua ice cream had great flavor and I'm a sucker for unique flavors. The price point isn't all that bad either, which Ben & Jerry's walking distance away charging 3x more, it makes this treat a steal. The ice cream itself could be a bit fresher, as it tasted freezer burnt. The staff here could also be a bit friendlier. Overall, Big Olaf's isn't what I remember it being, but if you're looking for a cheap scoop when walking around St Armands it is worth a visit.

As we ate our ice cream (mint chip, pistachio, my daughter had cheesecake and my husband had white chocolate raspberry, his favorite), I looked at the billboard behind them... There were old cartoons probably cut out 15+ years ago, and an ancient map of St. Armand's circle. The cartoons and map had drips of ice cream on them and were faded and torn. There was a fun fact about ice cream...from 1999. We might have caught them on an off day, but I was not impressed. They're also "cash only" and had a faded picture of George Bush and a Charlie Kirk hat on display... Overall, they need to do a deep clean, refresh their decor and perhaps implement some payment technology to join us in 2026.
