Delicious Cobb salad with jammy eggs and green goddess dressing!
Susan H.

The service is always amazing. We were greeted by three people before we even made it the register to order. Everything is made fresh, so don't come here expecting fast-food service. Everything we've tried has been delicious. The Cobb salad today was fantastic!

Got a breakfast to go here this morning and enjoyed a nice cappuccino and chicken biscuit sandwich. Service was good, quick, got me into work on time (sadly, ha!). Coffee was piping hot and strong, and the chicken biscuit was huge. Fresh, warm, buttery, flaky biscuit with a thick cut of fried chicken. I only ate half for breakfast. Would definitely stay to dine in sometime too, but great to-go as well! @azfitfoodfun

Brown Butter Oatmeal Cream Pie

I DREAM about this salad. This may be the best Green Goddess salad I've ever had. I love adding the nuggets too. And let's talk about the oatmeal cream pie--to die for. Not pictured is the Chocolate Coconut Caramel Latte I also ordered. It was fantastic. I love when a place just makes GOOD FOOD. Staff is always so friendly, and the inside of the restaurant is super cute. Looks like a great study or work spot too.

98.8. Clean

I'm ready to go back to this place! I came in for lunch and got my grain bowl to-go. I'm going to dine in next time. The restaurant is clean with an upbeat vibe. The sport a sanitation grade of 98.5. The employees were friendly and helpful. They had to explain the features of several dishes to me to make my choice. The food was delicious. The crisp rice in the grain bowl mixed with the almond romesco was amazing. It was fresh and clean. The "jammy egg" was also surprisingly tasty. The only downside was that they didn't accept cash as a payment option. The food was great. I'm ready for more.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap (Plant-Based Nuggets)
Destiny B.

I ordered the wrap through Uber Eats and it was so good! Though I wish they used cauliflower bites instead of plant based chicken (which more than likely has soy) . My order arrived promptly. Since the food was so good, a friend and I went in person to check the place out. The beignets were amazing and so was everything else. Perfect ambience to work or have lunch with friends.

I was in here a few weeks ago. Chicken Sandwich and Big Freaking Cookie were superb! For service, they're very serious but great at their jobs. I have been in about 100 restaurants in the Lake Norman area and get along well with everyone--I'm on the gregarious and talkative side. Strange vibe here though. Oh well. Staff is still cool in my book and the food is better than I thought. Recommended.

When I say milk bread will not disappoint, they always come through. They provide great customer service. The ambiance is inviting for networking, grabbing lunch with a friend, or enjoying breakfast solo. I had their chicken sandwich, Cobb salad, sausage and egg jelly biscuit, and fries They definitely have me as a repeat customer

I finally made it, been on my list a couple of months! Before I get into the food I have to compliment the incredible service I received from Deven immediately walking in the door. Being my first time and knowing that I wanted to try several items but that I couldn't try everything (it was just me so I couldn't share) Deven was so helpful and patient and kind, just wonderful! So hard to narrow down what to eat but I landed on the crispy cauliflower, the hot dip w/pimento cheese, a red velvet milkbread donut (seasonal flavor), a biscuit, a sourdough bagel, an everything bagel, and the milkbread mini cinnies with cream cheese frosting. I got everything to go and the order was well packed and accurate. The crispy cauliflower was eaten while driving and even packed up to go, held its crispiness. It was crispy and tender and good enough to eat plain or dip. Normally if I start with a fried appetizer, it spoils my appetite because it's so heavy and oily, I ate the entire order of crispy cauliflower and it wasn't heavy or overly filling. A great starter which was perfect because I had the chicken sandwich to try next. And oh my word, so so good! The hot dip is buttermilk brined chicken with a little spice but served with their citrusy slaw and their famous pickles, it makes the perfect crunch and bite. I also added pimento cheese because why wouldn't I, and it was awesome. That sandwich was just as good as it looks! I have to be honest, the donuts aren't the prettiest and because of the way it looked, I wasn't expecting to be as impressed but a soft, fluffy, springy but light milkbread donut just can't miss. Next I tried the mini cinnies. Which came with the cream cheese frosting on the side because it was a to go order. The secret to their cinnamon rolls isn't just the dough, it's the glaze which is a thick caramelized cinnamon, brown butter "sauce". If you've ever been disappointed in the level of cinnamon in a cinnamon bun, this glaze ensures that you never feel that way here. Honestly, I ate one without the frosting and one with and I loved both. Ooey gooey and bite sized, yum! Saved the bagels and biscuit for breakfast and even being a day "old" the bagels still had a really good chew and the texture of quality ingredients. Biscuit was light, fluffy and flaky in the right ways. Some items were sold out by the time I stopped in so it's a great excuse to go back. I def want to try some of the bowls and toasts next along with the beignets and brown butter oatmeal cream pie. The restaurant itself is open and bright, with tables or bar style seating, counter service and nice variety of fun coffee drinks, sodas, wine and beer. Tables outside for a nice day and appears to be dog friendly as well. A great spot for a James beard nominated chef's take on fast casual food. Love!

Grain Bowl with Chicken Bites
Ian N.

Grain Bowl (4/5): I LOVED the crispy rice in this bowl. Such a good crunch. The egg was also perfectly cooked. I added chicken bites as an upgrade, and they were nice and crunchy as well, but they were a bit too salty and tasted too strongly of soy sauce (I think?). There was also a bit more ginger flavor in the bowl than I prefer. Nice option for something a little lighter and more fresh.  Petite Beignets (3/5): Lots of powdered sugar on these. The dough was just ok though. MUCH better warm than after they've sat for awhile.  RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this

Chicken biscuit
Carol C.

The chicken sandwich is now chicken tenders on a bun which we were not even informed. Agree with the prior review that they have kept the photo of the chicken sandwich which is misleading. Unfortunately service is still poor. I used to work at a restaurant as a server so it's disheartening.

The Original Sandwich
Kevin K.

For the longest time I have held the belief that Popeyes ultimately emerged victorious in the Chicken Sandwich Wars. I had, up until that part of my life, never had a chicken sandwich I enjoyed more than Popeyes. That was, until, my taste buds feasted upon the glory that is the Milkbread chicken sandwich. When you bite into the original chicken sandwich, you initially feel the soft bread followed by the crispiest, most satisfying, glorious crunch of the chicken. The grandfather pickle, pickled just right, is the cherry on top to this heaven-in-a-bun. They usually play fantastic bops on the speakers and seating is plentiful, despite the busy rushes during peak hours. On top of this, the service is always the friendliest. Recommend to all coming to the area! 10 out of 10!

One great bowl and one great salad plus one perfect glazed doughnut for dessert -- we loved this place. Jealous of people who live near it.

Very expensive for what you get. BLT was tasty but bread was soggy. Wait for food was a little long for a counter order restaurant.

I love French inspired cuisine. I have traveled across France. We hosted a French exchange student for a year. I took French in school. This was meant to be a specialized gift for the occasion. The small seating area only had 10 tables tightly fitted into the back of the strip shopping center store. The decor was eclectic but overwhelming. It feels claustrophobic but clean. There were two servers tending to the dining room. They were friendly. There were mistakes on the special menu and they alerted of the issues. They had a special Valentines menu, a tea menu, and a dessert menu. The tea was good. They got it out in a reasonable time. The server brought me a smidge of honey. They had a decent selection of caffeine free teas. She took our food order the same time as our tea order. We sat at our table waiting for an hour before questioned the status of our meal. The table beside us was also becoming restless and tired of waiting. Finally the table beside us received his chicken salad sandwich. His date received my date's order ant took a bite. They resolved this by taking the plate from the incorrect table and gave it to my date AFTER it was touched! This left me sitting there with no food. My date finished her meal and I was still sitting there with nothing. I only ordered a salad topped with grilled chicken!!! After being there for one hour and fifty minutes they said the chicken was still not ready. They didn't charge if for our meal but I never received any food. Nothing. This was a well thought out special occasion that was ruined by an incompetent kitchen. It was a disaster. I left there and stopped by Jersey Mike's. Two hours of my life totally wasted.

First, we arrived at about 8:30am and there was about 3 other parties already seated. After being setting, we waited about ten minutes before anyone came over to offer coffee or a menu ; as I watch all of the wait staff in back just having, which looked like a bunch of chatter because something was very funny to them them all. One young lady kept wiping her nose with the back of her hand( I am sure it was her allergies but you are working out food); I am glad she was not my waitress or I would had to say something. The food was very good as always as I wanted to treat my mom since she had to fast for the test she before breakfast The ambience is basic but conducive. Nothing worth writing about. The location was clean. I would definitely come back. Working on customer attentiveness is important, especially when the location is not crowded.

I felt it odd that 3 to 4 tabletops were covered with dirty dishes. They definitely had not been pre-bussed and no one had been to the table since the customers had left. There was clearly not a bus person anywhere to be seen. It was a gorgeous morning and we sat outside for about 20 minutes or so, and nobody had greeted us. One waitress walked by our table, but didn't say a word another waitress saw the mess on the patio and came out and started cleaning, but also did not greet us. I detest complaining, but after losing at paper, rock, scissors, I was definitely the one who had to go in and address the issue. I finally went inside to ask if the waitstaff knew that we were seated outside. The blonde lady behind the register said she did not know who our wait person was and that she was trying to find out at that moment. We waited patiently for at least 10 to 15 more minutes and finally my boyfriend went in and asked the same question. Unfortunately, he was given the very same answer that I was roughly 15 minutes earlier. Finally, a waitress appeared and apologized and stated that nobody had told her that she had a table on the patio. Things were looking up, so I thought. She brought the drinks that we had ordered and placed our breakfast order. Then delivered the drinks, but we had nothing to mix sugar into the coffee. I returned inside the restaurant once again and requested a spoon to stir the sugar. There was a counter full of silverware that was sitting right next to the register, but the blonde lady said that she would have to have someone bring me a spoon. By the time we finally got the spoon the coffee had started to cool. Our breakfast arrived shortly after and the waitress looked at us and asked if we needed anything else. We mentioned that we did not have any silverware and she said that she would be right back. Again, we waited for what felt like an eternity and then went inside and retrieved silverware. My boyfriend was standing at the counter again, waiting on the lady with the blonde hair and in the meantime, the waitress finally did appear with utensils, but breakfast was already getting cold. The taste of the food was good. The portions were generous, but my last bite had a portion of the avocado seed that causing me to cough until almost gagging. I don't like to leave negative reviews! Something was definitely off today. It felt as though there was not a manager at this location and that at least 1 bus person called in sick. This might have been the first day for the lady with the blond hair working the counter at First Watch. I am so disappointed! There are numerous restaurants that we could've chosen to have breakfast at this morning. I dare say that I've had a much better experience at the local Waffle House.
