I sought help from Kelly as a last resort after a month of baby struggling to get back to birth weight. I was prescribed triple feeding which was totally unsustainable. She helped tremendously and gave us so much confidence as parents. She was so patient and knowledgeable, and professional. We got the latch down and were able to drop the triple feeding routine. Here we are almost a year later still nursing and growing right on track! read more

Kelly is the best lactation consultant any mama could ask for!!! A week into my breast feeding journey with my first baby I was ready to give up. (We saw a horrible lactation consultant at Kaiser who made me feel like I was starving my baby and tried to move us to formula immediately.) Thankfully we found Kelly on Yelp and she was able to see us the next day. She listened to my concerns/frustrations with breastfeeding, then watched me nurse my baby and gave such compassionate guidance. She gave me so much confidence!!! Fast forward to today, my baby girl is 9 months old and I am still exclusively breastfeeding!!! Breastfeeding is so much harder than anyone ever told me it was going to be. My recommendation for any first time mama would be to make an appointment with Kelly and get all the support you didn't even know you would need, it makes a world of a difference! read more

Updating my review - last time I wrote was for my firstborn a year and a half ago. Remembering the miracles she performed last time, I decided to reach out to get her help for my second child (earlier this time!) after my husband over-enthusiastically fed him a heaping bottle to chug a day after we returned from the hospital. She was super easy to connect with over text message, quickly scheduled an appointment for the next business day, and before I knew it, she was there supporting us through the start of our breastfeeding journey. Since we are currently during times of COVID, she wore a mask throughout the entirety of her time in our home, and made sure to wash her hands before coming into contact with myself or baby. These little acts of care made us feel really reassured to have her come for an in-person session (she also offers virtual sessions). My son was a week old and not only was he refusing the bare breast, he was also starting to struggle with a nipple shield. With Kelly's guidance, we spent our session practicing how to get him on properly, what angle to approach, how to hold him, and also getting my confidence up that we CAN do this. She was also fantastic in involving my husband and showing him how to help me and how he can have an active role with breastfeeding as my support person. By the end of our session, we were all feeling much less stressed, knowing that we just had a lot of practice and exposure ahead of us, but nothing we couldn't tackle together. In the past few weeks, my son was diagnosed with breastmilk jaundice and his pediatrician had recommended he do a 3-day course of formula. We didn't have the heart to pace-feed him for 3 days straight, and thus were really nervous about how all this bottle feeding would hinder our breastfeeding journey. But with the skills and tricks Kelly taught us, I was able to go through the motions again and within a few days, my son remembered how to latch and feed and was nursing on my bare breast again. Like I said before, Kelly is a friendly and highly experienced lactation consultant, and nothing has changed between my last review and this one, except for the growth in adoration and appreciation I have for her. I cannot recommend her and her services enough! read more

Kelly was so amazing to work with it. It was crazy to me how little support I got at the hospital and pediatrician concerning breastfeeding and while in general me and my baby were doing well with breastfeeding he did drop 11% from his birth weight on day 4 so I reached out to Kelly. My favorite part is that she's a great texter (lol). Even in those first few texts where I was telling her my situation I could tell she cared and felt like I was texting a super knowledgeable friend. So far we only had the one video call and since my baby caught up in his weight and we don't seem to have any other issues at the moment Kelly was able to answer all my questions and had great props on the call to educate me on latch and position. In an hour call I got all my questions answered (ranging from latch to supply to pumping to nipple confusion) and it was just so helpful! It's so nice now knowing I have her to contact if any issues are to arise as I go through this journey! Thank so so much Kelly! read more

Kelly is a breastfeeding lifesaver. 5 years ago, Kelly patiently helped me through my breastfeeding journey with my daughter -- what started out as an initial goal of 3 months of breastfeeding ended up in a 15 month exclusively breastfeeding journey. Here I am 5 years later thinking it would be easier the second time around but NOPE! Kelly came over a couple days after my son was born as I was having trouble getting him to latch.. and when he would latch, he would slip off easily. Kelly helped get a comfortable latch within minutes. He ultimately was diagnosed by a pediatric dentist with a tongue and lip tie, and Kelly was there to help us through that journey. I met with Kelly after his tongue tie revision and she was able help him latch, help with the first stretches, and talk me through what to expect while he recovered. It has been NIGHT AND DAY ever since. He is latching easily, comfortably, pain free, and gaining weight like a champ. Kelly was incredibly responsive to my panicked text messages, always getting back to me timely and talking me through my stress (and sometimes tears!). She is professional, kind, friendly, and the ultimate baby whisperer. She also took COVID precautions seriously - taking off her shoes, washing her hands thoroughly, wearing a mask, gloves, etc. Kelly is a life saver - me and my chunky little guy appreciate her so much!! read more

For any mama with newborn please contact Kelly. She was my 4th LC experience and was by far the best. Reasons she was better than others 1. Is an expert at what she does. 2. Educates you on how to get a good latch and makes you practice. - but far most helpful way to learn 3. Proactively shares information vs a one line q&a response that I received from others. 4. Warm. Well this is just her personality :) 5. Works with what the mom is comfortable with. I used a my breast friend pillow for my 1st born and wanted to use it. Instead of discarding saying it doesn't promote good posture, she worked with it and me! Please do reach out of you are in need of an LC! Thanks Kelly , I feel lucky to have found you. :) read more

Kelly is so knowledgeable and amazing! I had given up on nursing my son and was pumping around the clock and bottle feeding pumped milk, which was very exhausting. I didn't want to give up on nursing so I contacted Kelly and after just 2 consultations, I'm exclusively nursing now. Kelly addressed all my concerns and is just so much fun in general. Highly recommend her to all new mamas! read more

I told Kelly I was going to leave her a five star on yelp during her visit long long time ago, but I never did given the chaotic life with baby. Now while my baby is weaning from breastfeeding, I keep remembering how my breastfeeding journey started. I was so frustrated after several lactation consultation sessions at the hospital, crying with my baby: neither of us knew how to latch. We tried tubes taped to my skin and shields, but nothing worked. Kelly changed everything in a snap of the fingers! During her visit, Kelly also provided lots of useful resources and information. I am grateful! read more

I met with Kelly soon after delivery when I was struggling with so many things breastfeeding related as a first time mom. I was feeling especially stressed as my son had jaundice and needed to be triple-fed. We were also struggling to get his weight up but he was refusing to latch on one side, and I had no idea how to troubleshoot. Kelly was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable from the get-go and showed me some great tips that eventually helped address our latching issues. I attribute my ability to persevere in my breastfeeding journey early on because of her guidance. But her support did not end there! I reached back out to Kelly when my son was going through a bottle refusal phase, and her tips allowed us to resolve it within a couple of weeks just in time for his transition to day care. Whether you are seeing her in person or getting her support virtually, I am confident you will receive great care and guidance from her. Thank you Kelly! read more

This review is long overdue! Kelly is the absolute best! She is an expert and provides LOTS of helpful resources. I won't mention my insurance carrier but needless to say, they were not helpful at all. We found out at 4 days old that my baby had a tongue tie. How did we find out? When discharged from the hospital, our nurse said it looked like baby could have a tongue tie and to keep an eye on it. Had I not mentioned it to my pediatrician at her first visit, I don't think they would have noticed anything. Baby had lost weight and they insisted I supplement. I explained we were having a hard time breastfeeding and they said it looked minor but I could go ahead and see an LC for some help. We saw 2 LCs through my insurance and were referred to an ENT doctor who cut about 1mm. That was nothing. And did nothing :( latching was not improving and I was a hot mess. Because I was so hell bent on breastfeeding, I did not want to give up. I did my own research and found Kelly. It wasn't until after my first visit with her that I was able to understand what was happening. She checked baby's sucking (or lack thereof), inability to latch and recommended us to a pediatric dentist (who ultimately saved us). Turns out her tie was not minor at all! It was a very long road to recovery. Sleepless nights. Lots of tears. My husband bottlefed for 4 weeks while I pumped...I wanted to give up almost every day, but we persisted. I told baby girl we'd make it through to the other side. And we did! Let me tell you, it was all worth it. Kelly is encouraging, patient and overall amazing. I felt like she was my personal cheerleader, she would text to check in and always ALWAYS make me feel better. Even on my worst days. Thank you Kelly!! You are a gift from above read more

Kelly should change her business name to the Milk Whisperer. We had breastfeeding issues with latching and consulted with 2 lactation specialists through Kaiser. Those specialists unfortunately did not help us out and we were at the brink of giving up. We found Kelly's information on Yelp and she immediately responded and came over for a house visit. Within 15 minutes, she found the fix and by the end of her visit, we were feeding with no issues. She's not only professional and patient, but she's personable and knows her stuff - literally! If you're having lactation complications, don't hesitate and reach out directly to Kelly. You won't regret it. Kelly - If you're reading this, thank you so much. read more

So this review is long overdue. I'm writing as the "spouse/dad" and I can't say enough great things about Kelly! Our son was born a few weeks premature and needed a bit of development and coaching in order to successfully latch. Breastfeeding was one of the most important things that my wife wanted to do for our son, and it was a really difficult and frustrating experience. (Especially because it comes so naturally to some babies, not ours!) We had Kelly come to the house and instantly provide tips and tricks orders of magnitude better than the multiple lactation consultations we had in the hospital. After one session my wife felt much more confident and after a 2nd session our son was able to latch regularly and she has been able to breastfeed exclusively ever since! Not only is Kelly professional but she is fun and caring as well and made my wife and I feel at ease. Thank you so much Kelly for helping to make this experience easier! Why are you still reading this? Go book her already! read more

Kelly is a lifesaver! Kelly has been there for us since before our baby was born for lactation education, supply selection and helped us get our baby's weight on track. She asked me about my priorities from the very first meeting and did everything to set up a plan to make that work. She is very knowledgeable and proactive and more importantly super friendly where you wish the sessions never end with her. We had several questions with latching, milk production and Kelly worked with us through all the questions and this helped us going from supplementing during the first month to exclusively breastfeeding him in a couple of weeks after meeting Kelly. On top of that, she knows so many other tidbits about infant care that are helpful to a new mom and she is just refreshing to be around - we honestly cannot thank her enough. 100% recommend you make Kelly part of your healthcare team! read more

Kelly was amazing. From the time our appointment was scheduled, she communicated via text messages about arrival time etc. Kelly was extremely helpful and empathetic. She knew what the problem was right away and was very knowledgeable on the subject. I'm so glad I got to use her services and highly recommend her to any new mom out there nursing. read more

Wow - Kelly is the entire reason I am able to breastfeed my baby. After having a rough birth and terrible advice from the lactation consultants at the hospital (just breastfeed through the pain!, it will get better in a month!) I found Kelly. The pain from breastfeeding was so bad I started using formula and couldn't feed for more than a minute without crying. Kelly came to my home and provided an instant sense of relief. She reassured me I would be able to breastfeed again, walked me through the latching, positioning, tricks for helping to get my baby to feed and how to heal my pain. I also have the goal of starting a freezer stash and she gave me a plan to get started on that as well! The entire time she was extremely professional and also warm and kind. I have seen Kelly twice and she has continued to be available when I have random questions come up or want to try out a new nursing position. I would HIGHLY recommend Kelly to anyone with difficulty or questions about breastfeeding. read more

Kelly is great! When she came, I had stopped nursing on one side because of the pain I had. She helped me address my pain I was experiencing- which was plugged ducts! She showed me How to rid them thoroughly and provided videos for me to reference as well. She has continuously been supportive whenever I have questions, weird feelings/pain, and just following up with me on how I'm doing. I never felt pressured to continue nor quit breastfeeding, the decision was completely mine and she would support either way. She also helped ease my mind of how much little babe was eating, as most new moms always feel like we aren't making enough milk! She brought a scale with her and weighed him pre and post feeding. We also discussed his tongue tie possible issues and what to discuss with the pediatrician about. Also, it was very easy to connect with Kelly on a personal level and talk comfortably about my labor, delivery, and current issues. read more

I credit my positive breastfeeding experience entirely to Kelly. I first connected with Kelly while preparing for the arrival of our son, and she's been on my speed-dial ever since. She gave me a really solid foundational understanding of breastfeeding, and then once our baby was here was available for anything we needed -- from tongue tie, to introducing the bottle, to nursing strikes, changes in my milk supply, and more. I love that she focused on what my personal goals were, no hidden agenda. She felt like a close friend every step of the way and I am so glad I worked with her. Highly recommend! read more

Kelly is SO AMAZING and was a huge part of the early days of my breastfeeding journey, and continues to provide such great support as questions come up. I left the hospital feeling scared that I would never be able to breastfeed as I had low/no supply. I set up an initial session with Kelly on my second day home and she assessed our latch, my supply, and set me up on a plan to increase my supply and was extremely encouraging in my wish to exclusively breast feed. We then had a follow up session to address some issues that rose the following week. Kelly is very knowledgeable and is a great resource in all things breastfeeding. Both times Kelly left me feeling optimistic and confident that this could work! Kelly sent detailed notes after each session and followed up via text as well - I genuinely felt like she was invested in our progress! Kelly was and is extremely responsive and supportive with any additional questions I've had after both sessions. I 100% believe that without Kelly's support and help through this, we would not be exclusively breastfeeding today. No matter what your breastfeeding goals are, I cannot recommend Kelly enough! read more

I had read up all about breastfeeding - even attending classes with my hospital - but nothing truly prepares you for bringing your newborn home and doing all the work together with your baby! Still having questions, uncertainties about baby's weight gain, and just interested in hands on techniques to separate all the differing advice we reached out to Kelly and we are so grateful we did! She was responsive in scheduling a session, made logistics super simple (from payment to arriving to our home), and was so friendly and knowledgeable we felt so much more confident and capable after our session. It's clear she loves baby's and children and she's got a knack with them for sure. It's early newborn days still for me, my husband and baby but having Kelly come in to help us is already paying dividends. Thanks so much Kelly! read more

Kelly is the latch whisperer! I had really bad clogs on one side and within a few minutes of seeing me breast feed she gave me a quick change to get my son to latch better...GAME CHANGER! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to continue to breast feed as it hurt so bad, and once she fixed my latch I was texting my friends saying how much I love breastfeeding!! She is SO knowledgeable and made an amazing recommendation on some supplements for my clog issue, she is a wealth of knowledge and SUPER responsive! THE BEST LACTATION CONSULTANT! read more

Words cannot express how thankful I am for Kelly and her lactation consulting advice. Kelly is AMAZING, she's warm and kind and makes you feel reassured as a mom. As a mother of three I needed help with my third daughter. I thought she was not latching right but thanks to Kelly's advice I found out my daughter had thrush and that is why I had so much nipple pain. As the hour went on I loved her even more and she's very patient with questions and she responded quickly to my concerns. I could not recommend her more! read more

Call Kelly ASAP if your looking for help! The guidance I received from my healthcare provider was NOTHING compared to the support Kelly gave me. We were sent to the lactation department after our first apt due to our baby girl losing weight after birth. I left there feeling overwhelmed and sad thinking I wasn't giving my daughter what she needed. After a 1 hr home visit with Kelly, my daughter was latching and getting the milk she needed. The suggestions Kelly gave regarding pumping also was amazing as my output was insane! read more

Stop your search, you found who you've been looking for! Kelly is hands down one of the best choices I made during pregnancy/postpartum. She is a vessel of knowledge and has made everything about my breastfeeding journey doable, and dare I even say, enjoyable. She is kind, and extremely funny, I refer to her as "milk goddess scientist magician" - for real, she always seems to know what to do and even when your stressed, she's not, she's got you. What might be the most amazing part, is her responsiveness and availability. She didn't leave me to dry once we completed our sessions, I could text her at almost any hour and get a super quick response and answer to my problem. My little one has gained weight like a champ and his pediatrician is amazed, all thanks to Kelly! I am so happy I contacted Kelly! She is super awesome to work with! Kelly is very knowledgeable, patient, understand, empathetic and professional. She always has a mask on when she enters our home, washes her hands and then wears gloves before touching our baby. She has been such a life saver and has helped me find the best way to feed my baby and set boundaries so I am no longer a human pacifier and can get some rest in-between feeds. Kelly is not only a great lactation specialist, she is a wonderful person to talk to. If I have any questions at all, I am able to reach out to her via text any time. Kelly has been a great resource, especially for a first time mom. She also provides great notes that I can access at any time! I highly recommend Kelly for all your lactation needs! read more

Kelly was so helpful in improving my breastfeeding experience! She came to our home and got right to work in improving our latch and checking our LO for ties. I was so thankful that Kelly didn't immediately suggest any one procedure, medication, etc before we worked on our latch. Our LO ended up getting her lip tie released (after Kelly told us she had one and us working on our latching techniques) and everything got better (pain, supply, and duration of feedings). We couldn't have done this with Kelly! Well worth the investment. read more

Kelly was a total gem! Our little girl was born weighing 7lbs 3oz and by the time we left the hospital she was down to 6lbs 8oz which was 8.6% down from her birth weight. Hours before we were set to be discharged the nurse said she was concerned about the weight loss and is talking to us about supplementing, got us a medical grade pump and sent us home with formula. It was so overwhelming and I was torn between wanting our new babe to be healthy and gain weight and wanting to successfully breastfeed. I reached out to Kelly on the way home from the hospital. We talked about weight and diapers. By the end of our call we had a plan in place with a plan B as well. I felt so much better having a plan. It was a lot of work the first two nights but we followed Kelly's plan and at our weight check the nurses were shocked with how much she gained and told us we were doing fantastic. Kelly modified our schedule in a way to help us get as much sleep as possible and by day 8 our babe was back at her birth weight. I cannot give Kelly enough credit. She was answering my texts and calls at all hours and provided so much support. I can happily say our baby girl is successfully breastfeeding and I would not have been able to do it without Kelly. read more

Milk Made - Happy breastfed baby! Thank you Kelly! - Lactation Services Near Me

Kelly is amazing!! I recently had a c-section and left the hospital with a lot of milk but no clear plan of how we wanted to feed our baby (nursing, bottle, etc). Kelly came over a few days after getting home, helped with latching, reassured us that there's no "right" way of doing things and really listened to what we were trying to accomplish. I was expecting an LC to push exclusively breast feeding on me but Kelly was so open minded and helpful. She left me (and my husband) feeling confident and excited to breast feed, pump and bottle feed!! On top of that, Kelly was just fun to talk to about life out of breast feeding (family, home reno, tv shows) which made me feel immediately at ease :) Can't recommend working with Kelly enough!! read more

After Kelly's visit my husband and I literally cried with relief.  Kelly so quickly grasped our struggles and had a slew of tactics up her sleeve to get immediate relief from breastfeeding pain.  Her recommendations were clear and actionable.  She also gently guided us in a different direction when our proposed plans wouldn't be the easiest to manage in the long run. Kelly stayed with us for an entire feeding session dispensing down to earth parenting advice while she 1) weighed our infant to ensure he was getting sufficient volume 2) checked for tongue tie 3) improved my latch and ergonomics, and 4) showed us how to bottle feed. She was truly a breath of fresh air in the difficult first weeks and stayed in touch after the visit to check in on our progress.  After her visit we had renewed energy to tackle the subsequent weeks - I can't recommend her highly enough. read more

Kelly is amazing! We filled out a form on her website at 2am when momma finally caved and we realized we need some professional help. First thing in the morning we had a text from Kelly to schedule an appointment same day (keep in mind it's a Sunday). We connected with Kelly In the afternoon. Wow, we learned so much from her. She took her time to hear our concerns and learn about momma and baby. By the end of the session things were 100x better. Thank you Kelly for all your help and guidance. read more

When my son was born, we needed some help on getting off bottles after some initial slow weight gain. Kelly was able to come to our house within a day or two of me reaching out. She spent a long time helping- understanding our full history, watching a feed, providing all sorts of pointers on position and things to try, and taking through a longer term plan of how to get him off bottles while ensuring good weight gain. And, it took a little over a week, but we got there! Given out solution wasn't going to be achieved in one session, it was especially helpful to have continued support over text afterwards as we ran into new issues. Even better- my insurance ended up covering in full even though it wasn't in network so doesn't hurt to ask! read more

Kelly was such a savior when I was facing breastfeeding issues. Anyone who's been there knows just how URGENT your issues feel once you realize you need help, and/or you feel like you might be at the end of the road. Kelly's amazing communication, super fast responses and regular check-ins & check-ups are SUCH a crucial part of feeling hopeful and supported during those times. I had an amazing video consultation with Kelly for some initial breastfeeding issues, but when something (entirely different) came up months later, she immediately texted back when I reached out and, once again, did everything she could to help and even suggested we try a few things before booking a new session. An absolute godsend for struggling moms, can't recommend Kelly enough!! read more

Kelly was a life saver! As a new mom you are learning to navigate a new life and have many questions that a hospital cannot answer in a day. I reached out to Kelly prior to my delivered and she gave me the option to book an appointment before delivery( which I now regret) or after delivery. I chose after delivery assuming not a big deal and she said please let me know as soon as you have your baby. Somehow the next day when I was at the hospital I remembered her telling me so when I delivered my baby at the hospital I emailed her she booked me an appoint and saw me as soon as possible. She also made sure she followed covid guidelines and always washed her hands and wore gloves without asking! Her appointment was extremely effective she educated me on breastfeeding , created a plan to ensure my baby was getting enough, and encouraged me every strep of the way. I booked few appointments to make sure I had a good latch and Kelly even texted to check in on me. I can't thank her enough for her service and how caring she was. I can go on and on about her service but I would just say see for yourself! It's worth every dollar to hire Kelly! read more

Kelly was truly the guiding light in my postpartum haze! As a new mom, I was so overwhelmed by everything, especially breastfeeding. She is super knowledgeable and supportive. She immediately put me and baby at ease and totally turned my experience with breastfeeding around. I now look forward to this bonding routine with my baby everyday. She has also been tremendously responsive and thoughtful to my endless questions about nursing. Kelly is amazing! We met for an initial consultation and after our meeting I felt so much more prepared for breastfeeding than I previously was. I thought reading a few articles online would prepare me, but I was wrong. After our meeting ended, she told me should I run into any issues once my son is born, to text her and she would be available to help. This review is long overdue, but I cannot recommend Kelly highly enough. She was my angel during some of the darkest days of my life! She is the person to go for any help regarding breastfeeding issues. We setup appointments during the first few weeks of having our baby and she was of tremendous help. She helped me improve my supply, gave tips for feeding our daughter (who was underweight). She was always eager to help and offered remote counseling sessions on latching techniques even during weekends! She gave me some extremely useful tips that helped me prepare well for going back to work. If not for Kelly, I would have quit breastfeeding my baby in a week. Kelly is THE BEST! Seriously, if you are anywhere in the Bay Area and looking for a Lactation Consultant, look no further! She is worth every penny and more. I purely went off of Yelp Reviews and the desperate need for help on a WEEKEND day, which Kelly's website advertised. I had been to see a LC in the clinic under my insurance three times prior, and every time it would be mostly good when we were there, and then when we got home we would have trouble latching and excruciating pain for me. The pain brought me to tears, and I was about ready to give up. I figured it was worth one last try to have a LC come to MY home and assess the situation. I texted Kelly on a Saturday afternoon and arranged for her to come the NEXT day, Sunday morning. Saturday night I texted her hoping to get her advise as to if I should pump or use a nipple shield to minimize the pain and be able to feed my baby until she arrived the next day. Even though I hadn't paid for her service yet, Kelly quickly responded with her advise and followed up with me a few hours later to make sure we had been able to feed successfully. The overall consultation on Sunday was great. Kelly is super sweet, down to earth, knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure everything is going well and YOU feel comfortable with feedings before she leaves. She had us practice latching numerous times with her help, then had us independently latch a few more times. She answered all of our questions and sent me a care plan afterwards with all the information we had discussed (which is perfect because what new mom can remember all of that or take enough notes to remember?!) Kelly also checked for tongue ties and did weight checks during the visit to see how much baby girl had eaten. One of the BEST parts of working with Kelly is that she continues to be available to me via text or phone! Any questions or concerns I have, she quickly responds to! This brought me so much comfort and eased a lot of my stress with breastfeeding. I really can't say enough good things about Kelly...hence the long review! read more
