Our pediatrician recommended Sarah after both me and baby had postpartum complications that left us unable to breastfeed for the first 10 days. Sarah is absolutely amazing. We called her when I was at my wit's end after my milk supply dropped. I felt hopeless, sad, and like I was failing my child not able to produce enough milk, but Sarah's kindness, warmth, and thoughtful approach immediately made me feel better. She presented me with several options to try, and she was very mindful of my lifestyle/schedule and what would be realistic. I have met with many other lactation consultants who were judgmental or provided solutions that just weren't realistic for me to implement -- not Sarah! She listened to me and cared about my needs and goals. Sarah is amazing, we feel so fortunate to have come in contact with her as we welcomed a new daughter. She is an RN which is a must; a lot of LC's do not have this additional medical background, and I highly recommend Sarah for many reasons, but this may be one of the most compelling. I work for a large company and a colleague I really respect but don't know well who had a baby two years ago went out of her way to recommend I get Sarah as soon as she found out I was pregnant, so I knew she must be good. We arranged to meet Sarah for a consultation before we had our daughter because I had a high risk pregnancy and we were expecting some possible issues. It really helped us to set expectations and develop a good rapport, which i highly recommend. Sarah really gets to know you and what you want from the early days with your newborn. Sarah was in contact with us as I had a Cesarean and was in the hospital and first visited us two days after coming home. The LC's at the hospital were basically useless and we were in a really bad place when we saw Sarah with our newborn. She immediately sprang into action, and was the first to see that our daughter had a tongue and lip tie. She had a lot of recommendations for next steps and we were eventually able to get this remedied and get our daughter feeding properly and gaining weight. I cannot say enough about what a godsend Sarah is. This is such a special yet tumultuous time and her entire demeanor is amazing- she is so calming and knowledgeable, but also funny. I felt instantly at ease and not at all self conscious and I also felt like I was heard on what I wanted my individual experience to be like - she is not at all judgey, she truly wants to accomplish with you what YOU want. Also, her medical background is really helpful; along with getting our daughter feeding, she was on the lookout for postpartum anxiety (something I was worried may be an issue), and she even looked at my cesarean scar to make sure it was healing well, thus saving me a trip to the OB. She is prompt over text and email, gave us resources for a postpartum doula, and even talked with me late one night when I had a fever. She's so plugged in to the community and has such a strong knowledge base for all things post-partum, not just breastfeeding. It's so amazing Sarah comes to your home - She made it work with our messy house, visiting in-laws, and crazy amount of pets who would try to sleep in her bag :) She truly just become one of the family and I totally started to see her as a really helpful relative or friend more than anything else. I'm a first time mom and was having breastfeeding issues with my 4 month old (super prone to plugged ducts and mastitis), especially accompanied by postpartum anxiety. I was hardly getting any sleep and was in a lot of pain because of it (tried everything i read online and felt like just giving up and just admitting myself to a hospital--i'm so glad i called her! Sarah responded to my email really fast and even gave me a call right away. After talking and assessing that I did need immediate help, she made time to come to my house the next day and answered not just breastfeeding questions/concerns, but even other postpartum or health/motherhood questions I had. She was genuinely concerned and was very caring. With her professionalism, care and experience/credentials, it was easy to see why she is definitely one of the top lactation consultants in Seattle! I am so forever grateful for the help Sarah gave me and my daughter two times!! I contacted her when my daughter was almost 1month old with latching issues/nipple shield use and I needed some support. This was my third child and I breastfed my other two but hated those experiences. Fast forward 7yrs and I was very excited to and willing to breastfeed my daughter and wanted nothing more than for her to latch without the nipple shield. She came and help my daughter latch on without the shield (which in the hospital and at kaiser lactation appts) they couldn't do. I was over the moon excited. Sarah was FANTASTIC!!!! I have a week old baby who was not latching. Mentally this was hard for me as a mother. I panicked and went straight to pumping and bottle feeding. I knew I needed to call a specialist. After yelping around I found Sarah. Right away her calming tone on the phone was truly comforting! I just felt an instant vibe from her. She arrived a few minutes early, which I really appreciate because I hate being late. Right away, we got to it. She asked me some questions and really got to know my troubles. It turned out that my daughter is tongue tied both upper and lower and it's causing her to not be able to latch problem. She showed both my husband and I the problem with her tongue tied so we could see for ourselves. I liked that because it helped me understand what she was talking about when she talked about latching. We worked on some techniques, she showed me how to hand express (which my nurses never did in the hospital). But there wasn't much we could do till I get the tongue clipped. However she offered to come back once she is clipped to work on techniques. Afterwards, is where I really appreciated Sarah the most. She sat down with me. She really talked to me about everything. I expressed to her I felt like I was failing as a mother by not having my baby breast fed. I told her i was starting to get baby blues due to it. She assured me over and over that everything i was doing was right and every baby is different. In the end, feeding your baby is most important and it doesn't matter what way you go. To me- that alone was everything. I hear a professional express that life doesn't always go as planned but what you're doing is great. I'm still a good mother. For that, i would pay for her again. I found Sarah through Yelp, I had a bad latch, and a low milk supply and our daughter was about two weeks old. Sarah arrived at our house and was very honest about our situation. There were some circumstances that happened during our first few days home with our daughter that affected my supply along with the possibility that I did not have many milk ducts due to the fact that my breast size did not really change during my pregnancy. She could see that things were rough for us, (I was being hard on myself about my breastfeeding issues) and gave us some suggestions about how to raise my milk supply and said that the important thing is that Arya is happy and sees that her parents are happy and that really resonated with us and I felt much better about our situation! Afterwards moms told me it took them months to find rhythm with their baby and "supply" (ie flow that adapts). The language around feeding babies and mom's bodies is atrocious. Besides supply is flow it changes is not static. I am supplementing with breastmilk and comfort nursing. Not my ideal because I wanted to exclusive breadtfeed, but I was pumping 1/3 of baby's needs. I took her advice and stopped pumping. My supply almost ended in 3 days, but my baby relatched and now it is worth my time to pump less than before 3 oz. / day so I can comfort nurse. Her advice made my situation harder not easier, and my baby had to work harder, too. Not fair to him. Check out Nurturing Expressions in West Seattle even though it is not in home. If I need more help I will go with them. They are set up to bill insurance, and my doula recommended them. Drop in fee. Don't buy the lies for $500! read more

I called Sarah about five days after I had given birth, as my baby was not latching on well after introducing the bottle to supplement due to her not gaining weight. Sarah was able to accommodate me same-day despite the distance and taught me everything that I am doing now, from how to latch correctly, positioning, etc. with my newborn, who is doing very well now thanks to her help! She also keeps an eye out for me and how I am recovering due to her additional nursing expertise, and offers solutions to any problems that I am having. When I called Sarah 4 days ago on a Sunday morning I was 5 days out of an emergency c-section and a complete wreck. I could barely get the words out over the phone to ask for help through my sobs. My milk didn't come in right away, I became quickly engorged and baby was frantic every time we tried to nurse and wouldn't latch at all anymore. Sarah was at our home by that afternoon helping my baby get fed, calming me down and giving my family a clear plan spelling out exactly what to do over the coming days to get the baby's weight back up, help me with my own body and get my baby and I back on track to nursing together. She spent a few hours with us and it was absolutely transformative. Fast forward to yesterday, just three days after her first visit and I feel almost like my old self, joking and smiling again. Little June is up a whole pound in a matter of days. On our second visit with Sarah we learned how to latch again, and the baby did latch! Baby and I are both learning how to work together and I know how to get her fed when things aren't quite working perfectly. I couldn't be more grateful. I gave birth via cesarean section to a baby boy about three weeks ago. I was having a lot of difficulty getting him to latch, pretty much since day one. None of the nurses at the birthing center seemed to notice or really acted overly concerned, and I, not knowing any better thought everything was all right. We were all mistaken. After my son lost a mildly concerning amount of weight, I started pumping and supplementing with formula to get some nourishment to him while still trying to get him to latch. I saw a lactation consultant via my birthing center with no luck. My Doula theorized he was tongue tied, so we got his tongue snipped, which didn't seem to help much at the time. I was at the end of my rope when my husband found Sarah online and left a harried message for her. She got back to me as soon as she could and saw me the next day. She is in a word awesome. Very warm and knowledgeable in her field. She is not only a lactation consultant, but also a registered nurse, which gives her that much more expertise. My husband was pleased that a medical professional made such quick housecalls in this day and age. She spent only a little over an hour with me, and by the end my little one was nursing! She helped me with positioning (him and myself) and different techniques. She helped me to relax and reminded me that his trouble latching was not my fault. Babies do not come into the world with an instruction manual! Breast feeding was something that I definitely wanted to do and be successful at and after an unplanned C-Section to deliver my son, it became all the more important to me. We had little to no success at the hospital getting my son to latch, which then in turn did not stimulate my milk supply. Our second day home my son had lost over 15% of his birth weight and we could not get him to latch. My husband searched Yelp and found Sarah and called her right away. She made an appointment to come see us the next day. I was dealing with painful carpal tunnel syndrome due to pregnancy and swelling, my son was a bit tongue tied, my milk supply had not fully come in yet, my son had lost a lot of weight and was not gaining, and breast feeding sessions (or the attempts to breast feed) would end with both myself and my son in tears. Sarah immediately put me at ease and helped us come up with a plan to get our son gaining weight. Sarah ended up visiting my home 4 times and we have come so very far with breast feeding, especially considering the number of obstacles we started with. Feeding sessions no longer end in tears, which is a relief for myself, my son, and my husband! Sarah spent several hours with us for each visit and after each visit I felt a sense of relief and a renewed sense of confidence. She was available to me via email, cell phone and text in between visits and always promptly replied. Her extensive knowledge and passion for breast feeding is obvious, and her being an R.N. is a bonus. My favorite thing about Sarah is that she is so supportive about any decision that my husband and I made. She manages to be an advocate for breast feeding in a completely non-judgemental manner. I said in an email to her that I feared I had "spoiled my son with a bottle" and that he wouldn't be able to latch after that. She responded by saying I gave my son a bottle because I was a wonderful mother and he had lost so much weight that we needed to feed him via a bottle to get him gaining weight. She reminded me that babies can be trained back onto the breast and that I should not be down on myself ever, as I was doing what was best for my son. I highly recommend Sarah to any breast feeding mom. Breast feeding can be a calm, beautiful and wonderful thing, but sometimes you need some help to get to that point. Sarah is simply incredible. My husband and I were desperate for a lactation consultant on a Saturday and after a quick phone call explaining the situation with our 4 day old, Sarah said she could be to our home in as little as an hour. What a difference her visit made! We brought baby home 3.5 hours after birth and didn't have any success with latching or suckling while at the birth center. Baby was not rooting, wouldn't suck on a pacifier or finger and was very lethargic, not crying or showing any signs of hunger after hours since her last syringe feeding. We learned on day 3 that she had lost 10% of her birth weight and was mildly jaundiced. Our midwife suggested I pump so that my supply wasn't affected and that we see a lactation consultant. My husband and I spent a good chunk of the morning trying to find out where we could get access to a lactation consultant on the weekend. Everywhere we tried said we'd have to wait til Monday or take baby tot he ER, neither of which we wanted to do. Enter Sarah. She was professional, prepared, efficient and patient. She spent just over 2 hours at our house and by the time she left baby had latched and suckled! She gave us successful strategies to use to keep baby awake for feedings and put us on a schedule to get baby healthy and back on track for weight. Sarah suggested we have baby weighed in a couple days to make sure she was gaining and let me know about a weekly breastfeeding support group she hosts. I brought baby to the group (which was fun in and of itself) and she had gained 5 oz in 3 days! Sarah is genuinely happy when the babies and moms she assists do well and it shows. She offers follow up appts at a discount though I hope we don't need one. You do have to pay upfront for services (cash, check or CC) but she gives you the paper work to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. This is my very first Yelp! review and Sarah is a deserving recipient of the 5 star accolade! I found her on yelp when my baby was just a few days old. He wasn't nursing well and I wasn't producing well - bad combination. Sarah spent a few hours with me and we developed a plan to get us on a path to breast feeding success. That was seven months ago and I still depend on Sarah for solid, sound breast feeding advice. Recently I went through another difficult time when my baby wasn't eating enough and I, again, wasn't producing enough. We came up with another plan to get my baby's weight and my milk supply back up without having to resort to formula. My baby is well fed now and I feel confident that I am armed with good tools and knowledge to prevent my supply from ever being at risk again. Sarah is always responsive to my calls and e-mails and I find her support group helpful to discuss with her and other breast feeding moms challenges that I may still be facing. I had a baby boy a month ago at Swedish Hospital. When I was a day into engorgement (and all the accompanying pain and discomfort), I started frantically trying to find the list of recommended lactation consultants that Swedish Hospital shares with new moms. Thank GOODNESS I came across Sarah's info on that list. I was honestly at my wit's end and left her a voicemail at 7AM in the morning (couldn't wait any longer) -- and Sarah called me promptly back within the hour! After the visit, it was clear why Swedish chose to feature her as a recommended lactation consultant on their super short list. She was super sympathetic to my panicked mode and quickly scheduled an in-home visit within the next few hours. The visit absolutely SAVED me. Even though I'd read a fair amount of literature on breastfeeding, I was really ill-equipped to handle the discomfort of the "startup" process like getting through engorgement, sensitivity vis-a-vis the baby's latch, establishing a rational supply, creating a routine with the baby, etc. Sarah was so calm, knowledgeable, and competent in her observation of how I was nursing. I felt like all of her feedback and suggestions were paced in a manner that I was able to digest and based on observations of what was unique to my son and to me. Given my disposition, I also really appreciated her insights into what actual clinical studies have shown to be true about various aspects of breastfeeding, versus just spouting hearsay and midwives' tales. Even with a solid level of scientific context (which really resonated with me), Sarah was always very sympathetic and had awesome bedside manners. You can tell she puts your own priorities and nursing objectives first, putting aside her own agenda or biases which isn't always the case with those in the lactation world. Following the visit, Sarah was always interested to see how things were progressing and even followed up with a call to check-in when I myself was in no state to do so, despite having follow-on questions that I wanted to ask. This review is long overdue. I'm a ftm to a beautiful 11 month old baby boy. No one in my family breastfed and I took a class so I thought I was prepared... WRONG! 4 days after baby was born my milk hadn't come in and he was so hungry. Sarah helped me supplement and got me on a pumping regimen that got my supply where it should be and baby on the breast by 2 weeks. She came to my home at a time when I was the most vulnerable in the middle of the Oakland heat wave and I had no a/c! She was patient, thorough, funny at a time when I truly needed it, so knowledgeable, and very accommodating. I owe my successful breastfeeding relationship to her. Sarah is so very helpful and such a pleasure to work with. After some complications with my delivery, breastfeeding was an uphill battle. I met with other lactation consultants immediately following my delivery, but three months later I was still feeling discouraged; I was using nipple shields that resulted in super long nursing sessions and, due to slow weight gain, I was constantly wondering if my baby was getting what she needed nursing compared to bottle-feeding. I finally got a referral to Sarah and my breastfeeding experience has completely changed. She spent a couple hours in my home with me and my baby and because she spent so much time with us, she was able to observe nursing behaviors that I was concerned about and talk me through them. She was also able to help me nurse without nipple shields with some hands-on positioning and latching techniques. A week later and my baby and I haven't had to go back to the nipple shield once. It was also wonderful to know that she is an RN in addition to being a lactation consultant. Sarah is amazing. I had given birth naturally at home and assumed I could get the hang of nursing easily. I nursed my baby boy for 1 week and due to a bad latch, created so much bleeding, scabbing and cracks that I cringed and cried before and after every feeding. My husband, sister and mom daily reassured me I could nurse but I dreaded nursing and felt helpless. Exactly 1 week after my baby was born I felt like I couldn't take one more feeding. My midwife contacted Sarah and she called me within an hour to see if I wanted her to stop by and check out my latch. I agreed and she arrived at my house before I had to nurse again. Once she arrived she corrected my latch and was clear she wasn't leaving until I could do it repeatedly on my own. We practiced over and over again and despite the obvious nipple damage, I was able to nurse pain free. I had built up so much anxiety related to nursing that Sarah's confident yet caring approach was just what I needed to keep nursing. Since her initial visit, she returned to help me with my less dominant hand and has been available to answer all of my questions via phone as well. I don't know what I would have done without the help of Sarah! I would recommend her to every nursing mom and wish I would have seen her earlier. Before Sarah came to visit my wife and I were in dire straits. Her nipples were cracked and bleeding, and our 1.5 week old daughter was desperately hungry as a result of not getting a good enough latch. It had become so bad that we dreaded every feed, and the guilt at not enjoying this fabled mother/daughter bonding experience was emotionally draining for all of us. Sarah arrived within 24 hours and immediately set our minds at ease. Her confidence and consoling demeanor were just what we needed. After assessing our daughter's latch she identified some areas to improve and set to work gently trying different things. From her magic bag of tricks she produced a Supplemental Nursing System and taught us how to use it. We also learned some new positions to try that alleviated the intense pain my wife was experiencing during a feed. Sarah's help was not a magic bullet and it did take hard work and several days of implementing her advice, but I credit her with the fact that we are now successfully breastfeeding our daughter with no fuss or pain every day. I should also mention that Sarah has been incredibly responsive after her visit even today (7 weeks later), with followup emails, phone calls, and texts to readily answer any of our concerns. Sarah is a star and I recommend her at every chance I get. PS - If you have insurance, Sarah's visit is covered 100% thanks to Women's Preventative Health Care guidelines enacted in August of 2011, so there really is no reason not to reach out to her for help. I knew I needed help and not just someone who would say keep on putting babes on for multiple feedings. I contacted Sarah and luckily within 24 hours she was able to juggle some scheduling and fit me in for a home visit. It was a relief to be seen by a professional, who had years of experience with all the various feeding situations. She quickly shared information which helped me understand and evaluate the twins latch was somewhat impacted by the tongue tie. I heard about it, but did not understand what it was since the other lactation consultants at the hospital said it was no biggie and said my twins latched well. NOT. or else I wouldn't have cracked nipples. Sarah also brought her scale which measured the weight gain before and after the twins feeding and confirmed they latched, however did not pull any measurable amount of milk out. She helped me identify the causes for my pain and ways to see if we could improve the breastfeeding situation, exclusive pumping, or whatever feeding pattern that I was going to take. She also gave me tips on pumping and noticed my edema and shared additional tips on improving my situation. The information in itself was comforting as I can make informed decisions. She was also non-judgemental as I mentioned I considered formula feeding if my supply did not increase for the twins. Sarah is very responsive and was very flexible when we had to change our appointment due to an emergency. She is friendly and it's also very convenient that she can come to your house. However, I hired Sarah because my newborn son would not latch after he was given a bottle at the hospital. Sarah examined my son and said that he's got tongue tie, referred us to see Dr. Yazdi, and said that until we fix this physiological problem (small surgery) he won't be able to latch. I found it strange that he was seen by several pediatricians and lactation specialists at the hospital and no one noticed that he had tongue tie. After consulting with two more pediatricians I decided to seek a second opinion with another lactation specialist. I made an appointment at CPMC and my son was latching with a nipple shield on the same day and without the nipple shield by our follow up appointment 10 days later. Although it's not convenient to drive to CPMC, I am so glad that I didn't subject my son to unnecessary procedures. I was going to stop at nothing to get my son to latch, and I followed my instincts, knowing that it was possible since he had done it in the hospital before he was introduced to the bottle. read more

Sarah is truly the "breast whisperer" and has changed our lives! She is absolutely amazing and cares about her clients! I honestly don't know what we would have done if we hadn't met with her. I wanted to share my experience since these reviews played an important role in us deciding to meet with her. At our first newborn check on Day 4, our baby had lost 11% of her body weight. Due to the weight loss, our pediatrician recommended formula supplementation. I had desired to exclusively breastfeed and was devastated. Her advice was to wake the baby every 2 hours and feed her at least 10 mins/breast and return for a weight check in 2 days to then decide if formula would be necessary. I immediately called multiple places in Bellingham to find a lactation consultant and was told that they couldn't meet with me because they only saw a certain clinic's patients or they don't accept my insurance. For the rest of that day and night, I attempted to follow the pediatrician's recommendation without success. We had a very happy but sleepy baby. I was already having difficulty with the baby latching properly and positioning during feeds since the lactation counseling in the hospital was brief. It was extremely difficult waking up the baby every 2 hours. She would be dead asleep and not want to breastfeed then fall asleep after minutes at the breast. My husband and I tried to do everything to wake the baby to follow the recommended feeding schedule. The more I tried to feed her, the more unhappy she was. I was in tears and filled with anxiety. I felt like I was hurting my baby more than helping her and worried that she wasn't getting the nutrition that she needed. Seeing how devastated and desperate I was, my husband researched lactation consultants in Seattle and found Sarah. We called her right at 9AM, and after hearing our situation she made time for us to see her that afternoon. We packed up and made the 2 hour drive to Seattle with our baby, and it was the best decision we have ever made! Sarah took the time to get to know us and was nothing but supportive. I was an overly emotional mess, and she was able to calm my anxieties. She told me to get rid of my "Boppy" and introduced me to the "Breast Friend" which has really made all the difference. She walked us through an entire feed showing me how to properly latch the baby, tips on keeping the baby awake, and burping the baby. We weighed her before and after feeding to get a general idea of her intake which really made me feel better. Sarah did not see the need for any formula supplementation and restored my faith in being able to exclusively breastfeed. She emphasized the importance of watching the baby and not the clock during feeds. We went to feedings every 3 hours and allowing the baby to eat as much as she wanted on each breast. She answered any and all questions my husband and I had. We spent a little over an hour with her, and I left feeling like a completely different and better mom! She was even willing to discuss more concerns I had that night after we got home and told me to email her about anything else. The feeds during that night went so much better with a happy baby and mom! Sarah also faxed a report to my pediatrician regarding our session. At our weight check that next morning, our baby had already gained 7 ounces, and the pediatrician said to continue doing what we were doing. I emailed Sarah very late one Sunday night after seeing six other lactation consultants and taking my baby to see a pediatric occupational therapist because I couldn't get my baby to breastfeed. Every time I would get her on the breast, she would fall asleep. None of the techniques or exercises suggested were helping us to breastfeed and I was getting to the end of my rope. Sarah responded to my email first thing the next morning and came to visit me that same day. She asked me about the issues we'd been having, then sat down with me and my daughter and had us breastfeeding within 60 seconds. Our issue just turned out to be that we needed someone to show us how to latch on in a more effective way, which sounds very simple but Sarah was the first one to be able to do it. From then on breastfeeding became so much easier and I went from pumping and giving my baby all her milk by bottle to full-on breastfeeding. Sarah also followed up by email and telephone to make sure everything was going okay. Sarah is compassionate and so very knowledgable as a lactation consultant. I sent her a message after having soreness and an infection. I was very frustrated. She called me right away and spent 2 hours with me on a Saturday to practice latching. I am sharing this for the benefit of other new moms as hiring a lactation consultant is very important during first few weeks after birth (and as its a very expensive service). I was disappointed with my experience. Being a first time mom and having breastfeeding issues with my baby, I was looking for an empathic and a caring lactation expert. Hence, I reached out to Sarah. Sarah was judgemental of all the things I have done to solve my breastfeeding challenges (basically visiting Lytle Center, tongue tie expert, and OT). She was also judgmental of my culture. She came recommended by Swedish hospital, where I gave birth, and I can see why. She is professional, warm, and personable. It was wonderful to have someone who is not only a lactation specialist but also a RN. She not only helped correct how my daughter was latching (thank gawd!!) but also had excellent advice on my daughter's gassyness and fussyness and patiently listened to my neuroses and fears around SIDS and offered reassurance and feedback on the condition of my home, as it relates to SIDS risk factors. This review is long overdue! I was having such a difficult time breastfeeding the LO and saw an LC through East Bay Pediatrics. Long story short, the LC was not empathetic to my current situation and put me on a rigorous schedule that was just not working for me. It made me miserable both physically and mentally. Plus, hauling the baby to the LC's office was just not ideal. I heard that you can get an in home consultation from an LC and immediately called Sarah from Babe N' You. She came highly recommended by my pediatrician. Sarah was absolutely amazing! She truly listened to my concerns and helped me with techniques in breastfeeding. She also put me on a schedule that I could managed. I saw her a total of 3 times and each time we tweaked my schedule a bit depending on how I was feeling. She truly listens to me without any judgement and helped us with successfully breastfeeding our LO. I don't know what I would've done without her! Sara is the best !! After I went through mastitis twice , I have all the complicated symptoms such as yeast infection and baby oral yeast problem . When Sara come to my house the day right after I call her , she find the key to solve them and even help me to call to doctor to get medication prescribed as English is my second language . Update: Since Sarah's visit we're doing so much better, not just breastfeeding but generally. Not every problem is solved, but many are. And the ones that remain we feel better and more confident about. Sarah has followed up with is, helped us find resources, clarified for us what our needs really were. People write effusive reviews on yelp all the time, but I really do think Sarah is an exceptionally skilled and caring professional. My baby boys and their mommy have really benefited from her help and I'm so grateful. I ask wanted to mention that her rates are not rock bottom, by the way, but they're not crazy high either and in any case are entirely reasonable for her experience, skill, and dedication. We don't make a ton of money and weren't sure about hiring her, but it ultimately felt like a very wise use of our family resources and I'd do it again in heartbeat. Best money we ever spent. We have twins. Mommy was having a really hard time pumping and feeding 24 hours a day. The boys were inconsistent on the breast. Sarah came to our place within 24 hours and really helped us out. We'd been looking for lactation resources but the hospital we were associated with (as well ones we were not) seemed to only offer group classes and the times weren't as convenient as we would have liked. We were thrilled to learn that Sarah provided one-on-one in-home care. We called on a Thursday and met with her on Friday. After weighing the baby pre- and post-feeding, she discussed with us the best way to tackle the issues we were facing. She was very collaborative and listened intently to what we had to say. By the end of the visit we had a mutually agreed upon game plan in place. After day 2 of implementing this plan, our baby is a completely different person, happy as can be. My husband found Sarah after reading her rave reviews and checking out her website. He was trying to help me find a new lactation consultant I could work with after hitting a low in my breastfeeding experience while our son was 6 weeks old. Thank god he found Sarah - she was exactly who I needed to help solve my problems and improve his latch! She identified that my son had thrush (yeast in his mouth) which was causing alot of pain and discomfort for me.
