The amount of stuff in this mall is out of control -- my upcycling brain was on overdrive as I wandered about - so many options to give all this old stuff new life! The neighborhood is a little sketchy -- when I came in some lady was being accused of shoplifting and on the way out she was knocking things over and screaming at the top of her lungs - so that was something, LOL. They do have a little information kiosk when you arrive where you can grab a piece of paper that has a map of the store (the aisles have street names) and you can remind yourself where you saw something. They also have a little relaxation area with tables and chairs and restrooms -- which was nice, I always need to use the restroom! And it was well maintained. I did go right before Christmas and the place, to my surprise, was packed and the checkout line was very very long! But they seemed to be cycling people through fairly quickly. I didn't end up getting anything because I was on a schedule and didn't have time to really absorb it all -- so I will definitely be back when I have more time!

I love Brass Armadillo, I always start out at the glass cases to the right when you first enter the building. As i'm browsing the cases an older woman walks up and shakes the case in front of my face to ensure it's locked. I take note. It happens two more times and after the third I asked the woman if there was a reason multiple workers have come up specifically where i am to shake the case door. She mumbled something under her breath about shift changes. Sure. I handed the woman the items in my hand and asked her to bring them up front for me because I intend on purchasing them and glared at her. Brass Armadillo needs to train their employees better and not profile people just because they look different. People! be mindful that the elderly employees here and low key racist and will profile you. Do better.

They also had a VERY old singer sewing machine in great condition for under $200. It even had its original case! (FYI the goodwill next door ALSO had a singer machine. But it was maybe from the 70's and was in TERRIBLE condition. AND they were charging $200 for it! LIKE EXCUSE ME? Good Will is a THRIFT store not an antique dealership... PISSED me off a bit). I think overall the pricing seemed fair, even if I only bought one (or one pair) item. The staff was very friendly and polite, and we chatted a little about what I was looking for, and just day to day stuff. All the items in the store looked in good shape (for their age) and the store is pretty sizeable and well-stocked. It was very fun to browse around through everything, and easy to get staff help when I wanted to see something in a cabinet. I'll definitely stop in here again!
