I recently re-sided my entire home and decided that it was time to update the color of our metal…read moreroof that covers the front porch of our house. New Haven Painters did an excellent job! They recommended quality materials that will last a good long time, and prepared the roof perfectly (washed, primed, etc.). While they were here, I also had them touch up white paint on columns and headers around the house. They matched the paint perfectly to the new Azek. It looks fantastic. Paul was tremendously helpful throughout the project. Lots of great recommendations and advice. I will definitely use them again. Very professional and reasonably priced. UPDATE: We had some touchup work performed by New Haven Painters a few days ago and Orly was AWESOME. Very communicative. Really strived for our complete satisfaction. They did a great job, and it was at NO COST to me! They really stand by their work.

I personally had a terrible experience with New Haven Painters. After reading reviews, I went with…read morethem only to be left extremely disappointed with the process. They initially quoted me 4-5 days to paint the exterior of my home, but it ended up taking over a month. Throughout the process, I had to constantly reach out for updates and was even told by my "project manager" to stop reaching out to the office and if I had concerns to reach out to him. After voicing my complaints of the project manager, I was informed that the employee was let go because of the issues I raised. While I appreciate accountability, it shouldn't have taken my frustrations for the company to address their internal problems. Overall, this was an unprofessional and stressful experience. It's disappointing when a company fails to communicate effectively. I was left as a paying customer feeling undervalued and frustrated. I truly do not think this company is best for working families with the lack of urgency displayed by New Haven Painters. I spoke with an absurd amount of people to voice my concerns and still frustrated with this company for the headache they caused me a month later. Update 12/16 - The paint on my back door is peeling. Project finished Oct. 10th and started August 22nd.

I've been delayed in writing this review and that should not be a reflection on Patrick, Ivan and…read morethe rest of the crew. Our house is a 1770's colonial that hasn't had a lot of exterior attention in the past 15 or so years. Patrick came by and although he wasn't the cheapest guy I talked to, I liked his energy. I also liked that he had a carpenter who could address some of our neglected issues to take care of everything we needed all at the same time. The house came out great. I feel like I shouldn't have to do anything to the outside for several years. When I do, I'll give Patrick a call. We'll also be using them for some interior work when we get around to it after the holidays. Some things to know: Spend some time with Patrick walking the project and getting ideas on things that need to be addressed. He has a great eye and will notice things you've overlooked for years. Try to be on site as much as you can when they are there. Things come up and the project will go better if you can give them feedback in real time. Don't hesitate to ask them to do something over or differently. We had a few sections painted over a different color. It costs a bit more but they are happy to do what they can to make you happy. Keep an eye on your dog. Be considerate! One of my neighbors liked their work on my house and hired them to work on his. His dog bit 2 of their guys. That's not cool. If you have a dog figure out how to keep it from biting people when they work on your house. The house looks great. They are coming back to finish a few things for me and I'm looking forward to working with them again. These are the guys to use! I'll post photos one of these days!

I'll go ahead and start by saying that I wrote a lengthy email to the owner following the…read morecompletion of the exterior painting of my house with the goal of letting him know about my overall reaction to his work. I tried to paste that email here, but it was too long, so i'll summarize it below in a minute. Before I get there, the shocking matter is that the owner showed up at my house 4 hours after writing the email to confront me, telling me that I had plenty of time to tell him about the additional issues (it's been 23 hours...). While he was here, he said that my "f***ing house is a dump," and followed that with "you're a d**k, bro." I'm sure he'll respond to this post saying that's not what he said, but it all happened in front of my security camera, so it's hard to argue with a recording. The gist of the my email to him was that 1) the paint job looks pretty good (4/5) but that there were a few outstanding items that I had to handle (they took down the spot light and didn't replace it, the cable box was hanging off of the house, the touchups after I first raised an issue weren't completely done, and the paint chips were still scattered throughout the yard) - nothing crazy. I will also note that they did the job within a week of hiring, which was pretty cool. I then told him about 7 items that I found to be quite poor in terms of his operations: 1) They destroyed our garden with their feet and ladders even after advising that they stay out of it 2) When I told him two shingles needed to be added at the start of the job, they didn't do it - they just painted over the spots (note: they ended up replacing them after I flagged that it wasn't done right, and they look good). 3) Pat (owner) consistently failed to show up on time during the slots he said he would (3 times) 4) The price increased twice after he figured out they'd need to do more work (with no warning that this would be the case) 5) The crew was constantly smoking on the property 6) No one in his crew (himself included) wore a mask, including while talking to me while i was wearing one 7) Pat's communication is filled with expletives and slang - extremely unprofessional for a business owner. I told him all of this in a fact-based, unemotional manner, and said i'd give him a 3 for a review as a whole, which has now changed given his aggression and showing up on my property. As I write this, he continues to text me with aggressive rants about how my property wasn't safe for his crew (which he never mentioned - and if he thought it wasn't safe, he could have declined the job) and how i should have picked up after my animals so they didn't have to step in anything (which he never mentioned). To wrap - work product was pretty good - no argument there - but the owner and his handling of things was aggressive and incredibly unprofessional.

However, that said, we can UNEQUIVOCALLY state that Dawn of 3Cats far and away both the best and our favorite! Truly! From the first day we met her, when she came to give us a quote, she was kind, funny, and no pretense or bs. She's a 100% straightshooter! She gave us a fair, reasonable without the usual North Stamford markup other contractors do. We agreed on reasonable work times, days and schedule. She hewed to that schedule, every week. We really enjoyed seeing her, each morning, kidding around and so forth. She has a great spirit and we enjoyed having it in our home. Then she'd dive in for a day of work. You hardly know she's there. She does not leave big messes. And she's always willing to listen and make adjustments, when we would be slow in making our color choices or flat-out change our mind. She could roll with it. But, honestly, apart from her warmth and positivity, my favorite thing about Dawn is her phenomenally steady and concomitant attention to detail, which is precisely what everyone wants in a painter but so seldom gets. Her work is absolutely top drawer! Exceptional work!
