Real comfort food in the middle of residential area. I see nothing but locals in there. The best breakfast I've had in the high desert. The biscuit and gravy is top tier. Fluffy, moist, and the gravy is really good. Country fried steak is huge, crispy, fried and seasoned to perfection. I loved it! Corned beef hash also solid. The waitress was very helpful in decision-making and it's a cute little café in a cute little neighborhood. Amazing views when you step out of your car to walk towards the restaurant and it explains why it's called Mile High Café.. I would definitely recommend for a recently priced breakfast. Good coffee shop in an unassuming location in a residential neighborhood. It used to be Mary Ann's from way back when and Shelly's even before that. The interior was aviation themed with airline seats in the front waiting area. I had Pork Chops and Eggs for breakfast with home fries. It comes with a choice of toast, banana bread, or biscuits and gravy. I chose the banana bread. The two pork chops looked like they were finished off in a fryer but were still moist and seasoned well. They were boneless and thick. Home fries were good tasting with onions and bell peppers. The scrambled eggs were good, too. The banana bread, however, was very dry and did not have much of a flavor other than a slight sweetness. It was a generous portion, too. I did like the ground walnuts in it as a textural change. No one at our table who ordered the banana bread finished theirs. One in our party even made a suggestion to the waitstaff to let the kitchen know the state of their banana bread. It probably should not have been served in the first place. Waitstaff was harried but efficient and polite even though the place was slammed when we were there. Parking was difficult in their lot because it was very busy but there are some spaces in the back. I enjoyed my experience here, especially during the COVID period, as the staff were very polite and took an anti-mask stance, which I appreciated. The service was a bit slower than I would have preferred, but given that it is a small, privately owned business, that is understandable. The waitstaff are friendly, and the food was excellent. Still love this place!! It's been a few years but I decided to treat my son to breakfast and I was a little surprised. The waitress was not a familiar face but she didn't seem too happy to be there. She did hit smile or make pleasantries and rarely came to our table. There were only a couple customers but she left the table as if she was too busy to do more than take our order. This is rare for this place, the service is almost always perfect so I was caught off guard. The only reason for change in stars is the lack of dusting. The decor is covered in a very thick layer of dust. And yes, I know we live in the desert, but some of these items hang right by the table. The good news is that the food is still amazing, I hope they never get rid of their enchilada omelette or their banana nut bread. read more

Only took away one star because the furnishing is a little run down and the banana bread used to be AMAZING, idk what happened but sadly it's never even close to good anymore. Those are the only complaints I have, I love their food I always order the country fried steak breakfast plate and I'm always satisfied. They have really delicious breakfast fast friendly service and reasonable prices. I ordered the Wednesday special S.O.S. (Creamyground beef gravy on toast for those non military folks out there). I've reviewed the Mile High Cafe in the past and given them a good review. HOWEVER, today's visit was horrendous. Orange juice was ordered, and iced tea was brought. I ordered eggs over medium and was brought eggs over easy; additionally, the eggs were cold; although the eggs were replaced, they, too, were over easy. No jelly varieties were on the table. No creamer was brought or even mentioned when the coffee was served. I had to ask for creamer. Additionally, it took an exorbitantly long time between the ordering of the meals and the delivery to the table. To their credit, I wasn't charged for the drinks since iced tea had been brought in error. Due to the wait for the replacement eggs, the rest of my meal went cold. I ended up with a stomachache and a "sour" taste in my mouth due to the awful experience I had this morning. read more

Worst service on the planet!! The most racist place I've ever been too. My husband and I sat there for 20 min. Nobody greeted us. Finally waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink. She then forgot our water, as she proceeded to talk to other customers! They're ALL RUDE with no smile on their faces. Because we have been getting complaints on it all morning.." so it was spoiled, but they continued to serve it to their customers. Stay away from this place. It's complete dog shit. so bummed out. the worst experience I have had there. they acted like we were invisible and after we gave our order we sat with a bowl of dressing for me, and biscuits and gravy for my husband, for a long time before we got the rest of the meal. This place is excellent, my first time was this AM. I got there right at the crack of sparrows (0600) and still got attentive service, excellent portions, and DELICIOUS FOOD. My pics show that I got the enchilada omelette that everyone raves about (for good reason) which comes w/ biscuits and the best gravy I've ever had; it had morsels in it.
