I was staying in the area and picked up a pizza while I was in Van. First off, there was no one there on a Saturday night. There was also no music playing or a tv on or something, so it was eerily quiet. I walked in and ordered a medium supreme with no olives. I was told it would be 10-15 minutes, maybe less. Ok. It came out pretty quick, but like I said, I was the only one there. It was over $16 and frankly rather small. The sauce was very acidic and mostly tasted of tomato paste and the mushrooms were canned and mushy. There were lots of peppers and onions, but other than that the toppings were pretty light. The crust was pretty dense but fully cooked. Not a lot of options in Van. Milano's is a decent choice but isn't breaking any ground. read more

Stopped by on our way home from Louisiana. We dined in and the service was quick and they were very friendly. Ordered the pepperoni pizza , Milano's Supreme, Caesar salad and cheese sticks. Few dining choices in Van? Here's one more to skip. Ambiance: Generic Cafe setting. Service: Order at the counter and he brings it to you. Entrees: - Chicken Alfredo: A large portion, but unfortunately, that's the only good quality, The Alfredo sauce was watery and lacked spices. I'm Italian, so I can tell you it was missing garlic, oregano, a touch of Bay leaves, and no salt. The chicken pieces were a little over peppered. Overall: Very bland. She did not finish even 1/2 of it. Swing, miss, Strike 1. - Meatball Sub Sandwich: The meatballs probably came from CostCo or in bulk. They were very uniform in size and again, lacked seasoning. The "marinara" was cold--yes COLD--stewed tomatoes. Served with Lays Potato Chips. Wry disappointing. Swing, miss, Strike 2. - Cobb Salad: A decent portion of meats and cheeses--but no Salad Dressing! Sorry, swing, miss, Strike 3! We're OUT! First time trying this place. The pizza and cheesy bread were subpar. The pepperoni rolls were better. We did not like that they did not have ice tea. Really? You're in the south and in all places, Texas, and you have no tea!!! Then while we ate, we noticed no one washed their hands after touching the phone, money from customers, etcetera. Gross and dirty. The manager was very rude to employees and a customer. Wow. We will not return and we do not recommend this restaurant. read more

We recently moved to Van and decided to try Milano's Pizza tonight. A prior poster was correct as we entered the restaurant on a Saturday night at approximately 6:30 pm and there was only one occupied table with no ambiance whatsoever. Luckily, we ordered takeout and it was phenomenal. Our two medium pizzas (pepperoni and 3 cheese specialty) along with bone-in wings were fantastic. The wings were much smaller than usual, but the taste negated this shortcoming. Great job Milano's as we will definitely be returning. read more

We were heading through the area mid afternoon on a Sunday and needed a place our kiddos would like. The pizza was hot and fresh and served quickly. We had a pepperoni and the Milano's Supreme. Gosh, no one's reviewed this place in awhile, but it's still open and seems good to me! I think locals don't use Yelp as much. =) Anyway, I've eaten here multiple times since August, and it's been almost spotless 90% of the time; less traffic due to COVID may be a part. Anyway, the inside aesthetics are nice; like a traditional pizza place. I've had a calzone, spaghetti with meatballs, and three kinds of pizza: pepperoni, supreme, and chicken alfredo supreme. I ate all of them. =) The spaghetti noodles were just okay, but the meatballs and cheese on it were great! They toasted it, and just right. The chicken alfredo pizza was surprisingly good to me; I think it's the first chicken pizza I've actually liked; I think their sauce was the trick. The crust isn't too thick, so that's good. I'm pretty sure they deliver, but if you pick up, they have good specials. Also, the family is from Jordan, which is unique. Glad to support a mom-and-pop shop! Other notes: With COVID, their lunch buffet is closed. They respond on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/milanospizzavan). Their FB lists a website (https://www.milanospizza.net) which says they're in Trinidad, TX, but no, they're actually in Van. Oh, they make their own lasagna, too, so I may try that next. if you're looking for good hot, fresh pizza, friendly service, good hometown atmosphere I definitely recommend this place. I've had many pizzas but none as good as this you can't go wrong with a Milano's supreme or the meat lovers and if you like pasta the chicken Alfredo it's so good me and my family eat here at least once a week and they do offer delivery, fast and courteous drivers very polite. Milanos saved the night! I had three hungry kids after the water park all day, mind you two of them teenage boys, we went to dominoes and they had closed early for the night, four hours early! I'm a pizza guy and it pains me to write this review. Milano's seriously needs to join the 21st century. I couldn't find a menu online anywhere, so headed over to order a pizza in person. It was 5:00 PM on a Saturday night and this place was deserted. The dining room was depressing and it appeared that they must mainly handle take-out orders. I ordered my standard medium sausage and mushroom pizza. As a pair of workers arrived for the evening, no one seemed concerned about the disheveled appearance of the dining room. I heard them taking phone orders but they seemed disorganized and confused about how the phone system worked. I'm not saying that they weren't friendly and helpful - just poorly trained and/or managed. I don't know if there were was a supervisor on site. This looked like a restaurant that no one cared about. It's hard to imagine why a restaurant owner would allow their place of business to get to such a state. And it's the only pizza place for many miles. Van is a small town, but I should think that anyone who could serve fresh, hot pizza here could stay very busy. When my pizza was ready the sweetest little girl brought it out to the dining room and handed it to me with a smile that just earned this review the extra star that food didn't deserve. The pizza was hardly cooked. The crust wasn't brown and the cheese was hardly melted. I ate a couple slices and threw the rest in the trash. I don't like to be overly critical but the owners just don't seem to care about this place. Heck, they don't even claim it on Yelp. If they could learn to cook properly, update the dining room, go online, and teach everyone to smile like that little girl, I'm sure their business would improve. read more

I was tired of driving to Canton after our favorite local pizza joint closed, so decided to give them a try again after they reopened. They are under new management and the pizza is great!
