They were willing to fix my tire, but it wasn't salvageable. They gave me very detailed directions to the nearest Belle Tire. They gave me detailed information also about having new lugnuts placed on my tires. They helped make an unexpected and awful situation much better. I was in good hands. I can't thank them enough.

Budget came through and assuaged all those fears, though. Super friendly and efficient phone operator - quoted me $50 for the hookup, $4 per mile after that. Said the tow truck would be there in 30 minutes. Sure enough, 30 minutes later, guy pulls up, also super friendly, hooks my VW Golf up in about 60 seconds flat (without making me nervous about scratching, denting, or damaging my car in any way - very smooth maneuverings, he could probably do it with both eyes closed and one hand tied behind his back). I hop in his car - banter a bit - get to my house and he parks it perfectly, with the same amount of ease, gently but swiftly. Awesome. Charges me exactly the distance (2.5 miles) without rounding up. He phones in my credit card. I sign the paper. And am on my merry way. So easy. Towing was almost enjoyable. Not that I would want to have another 'opportunity' to tow my car, but if I have to, I'll be calling Budget again.

Please see google review for additional information, but I will just say that dispatcher Christine did a great job of being forthcoming about who called to have my car impounded. It was a disgruntled resident who did NOT have prior authorization to call a towing company for cars parked in the carport. She was unable to even provide documentation that she herself was allowed to park in the carport. Driver Thomas was unwilling to allow me to resolve this issue with cash, but he drove off without towing once the cops showed up. He did not speak to a LEO and claimed, "It's Easter and I don't want to deal with this." I will be seeking legal counsel to discussion next steps in this process, as the unlawful towing attempt resulting in my car being scraped. Based on the other reviews, this company has a horrible track record in professionalism, service, and fees associated with their services. He didn't offer any solutions or suggestions, but I was still grateful for his professionalism and timeliness. He also allowed me to ride with him to my home - which was supremely valuable. They charged me $135 for the service, $50 for using the wench, $28 for mileage, $4 a mile, $25 a day for storage ( I got it the same day they took it) and a $40 administrative fee. Total was $278 for getting the car out of the ditch and towing it for 7 miles! RIP OFF!!! And to think police officers call them! Now SLEAZY shops could have made up all sorts of issues starting with the ignition coil itself or engine issues and there's no easy way to double check.
