Definitely the best Pizza in NY...so many to choose from as well as pastas and more. You can't leave without trying a pepperoni roll!!! They have over 20 drinks to choose from! Great friendly environment easy parking due to being in a shopping center type location! You have to visit Mr Bruno's Pizzeria and Restaurant.

We ordered a large half onion half white pizza (mozzarella and ricotta) got plain pizza. Tasted good though.

We ordered a large onion half white pizza, mussels and chicken parm sandwich. The pizza was only plain pizza when delivered. Chicken parm sandwich looked like the driver sat on it. The mussels were tasty. The lady on the phone said it will be a half hour and we waited over an hour. The place is only 4 minutes down the road. We called the place and asked to talk to the manager and they are sending a new sandwich and half of white pizza.

Grumpy's Sourdough Pizza Co. 522 Saddle River Rd…read more Saddle Brook, NJ 07663 Hot Honey Heaven Grumpy's Triple Threat Multiple people have reached out to me and suggested I explore this locally owned pizzeria located in the heart of Saddle Brook. As I entered the parlor, it is a hole in the wall with minimal seating and no AC unit. Regardless that it wasn't fancy, I still had a very gut instinct the quality of their pies was going to be on the money. When I arrived a weekday afternoon to place my order, the cashier informed me there will be a 40 minute wait. For the fact that the wait is this long indicates there are in demand and their pizza is top quality. I also saw framed plaques along their table counter showing they received positive media recognition from The Record, northjersey.com, and bestofnj.com. Hot Honey Heaven: I was initially skeptical about the appearance of this pie because it looks kind of messy. However, I took a single bite and was immediately hooked. This pie was topped with pepperoni, crispy chicken, and ricotta cheese. Mike's Hot Honey was generously poured over the top. It has a combination of sweet and spiciness. I never anticipated honey would enhance the flavor of the pie; I wish I requested an extra cup! Grumpy's Triple Threat: Named after the restaurant, this pie is prepared with pesto, grandma sauce, and pink tomato sauce. The sprinkled parmigiano reggiano added a nice touch. I especially liked the artistic appearance. The three colors were visually appealing, especially with the swirls of pesto. All pies are prepared with their signature sourdough pizza crust. Each slice had a perfect undercarriage and a firm crunch. Customers have the option to bake the pies may light, medium, or well-done. I chose medium because a majority of the customer base prefers this style. As a bonus, Grumpy's offer complimentary crust upgrades. I opted to add garlic butter brush; the outer crust edge was literally brushed with hot, garlic-infused butter. While it is common to throw away the top portion of the pizza, the upgrade is definitely an incentive to eat the crust. San Marzano tomatoes are the primary ingredient for the sauce. It's not overly sweet and has a light tang. This pizzeria is geared for take out, but there are plenty of benches only minutes away at Saddle River County Park. You can enjoy your pie while admiring the beautiful scenery of the park. The parking lot has limited spaces, but you can easily find a spot on the street. Grumpy's may be a hole in the wall, but the pizza was outstanding. I'm really exuberant that I had a pristine experience exploring sourdough crust for the first time! I was far from "grumpy" after dining here! #grumpys #grumpyssourdoughpizzaco #grumpystriplethreat #hothoneyheaven

A heads-up if you're driving: parking can be a little difficult. There's a sign pointing to parking in the rear, but the lot is pretty small. You may be better off parking on a side street and walking over. I went just before the lunch hour, and the line was already out the door. They were also getting plenty of phone calls, so they definitely seem to have a busy business going. As for the pizza, the taste was good overall. The dough was a little tough and seemed possibly overdone, and the type of cheese they use made the pizza feel a bit greasy. That said, I'd be willing to try it again. Next time, I might skip the personal pie and try a different size or style to see if that makes a difference. Staff were very kind!!!! * I didn't see any slices on display, but people were ordering by the slice.

In…read morea state where there is a pizzeria on almost every block, although a New-York slice is legendary --- it is America, and I do need a bit of diversity with my pie, and this was a welcome change. Called in to make an order, and the owner say it was a busy day, so my pie would be reading in 45-minutes, instead of 25-30. I assumed if people are willing to frequent there, I'll join the queue. I ordered the Drunken Peps Detroit Style Pizza, which had "mozzarella cheese, two types of pepperoni (original sliced/cup & char), homemade vodka sauce, and freshly grated pecorino romano cheese." First off, the pie is huge --- completely worth the $26.96 I paid for it. Secondly, the photos don't do it justice --- it is steaming hot upon pick-up, and that very generous layer of sauce on the top was *chef's kiss*. Although the crust may appear very dark i the photos, it was actually perfect --- and provided that nice *crunch* and *crackle* that those crunchy cheesy edges provide. If you're in the area and looking for some pizza -variety- then I totally recommend this place. Pizza Knight for the win!

We went with the Drunken Peps (mozzarella cheese, two types of pepperoni (original sliced/cup & char), homemade vodka sauce, and freshly grated pecorino Romano cheese). It was a bit too much sauce for me, especially since the sauce was meh. The actual pizza itself was also more like a focaccia rather than Detroit-Style. The edges were also too crispy for me - almost burnt. Not sure I'd try another pie but glad I got to cross this one off my list. I just hope this pie is not indicative of what my 2026 is going to look like.

Every time I visit I always grab a few pizzas to bring home and I always make sure to ask to upgrade to DOP ingredients. This place is as authentic as it gets. From the oven, which was imported from Naples, to the owner being a certified pizzaiolo, and the amount of DOP ingredients in use and available, there's a level of care and respect for Neapolitan pizza that you can taste in the each pizza. The ingredients are excellent, the crust is consistently great, the dough has the perfect chew , and nothing feels like an afterthought. Over the years they've grown in popularity and have added several new items on the menu, to include pizzas, but the ones that stay constant in my rotation are Moms, The Margareta (DOP), and the meatball with ricotta. For me, they make the best neopolitan pizza on Long Island. I also love that it's connected to the pork store next door. There's something about the whole setup that feels like a throwback to my childhood and the kind of Italian American places I grew up around that seem like there's so few of today. There is a lot of good pizza in a 20 min radius but Third Proof really stands out. I did not know until I went to write this review that they recently got a monster score from Portnoy, it was fully earned. Friendly pizza joint vibe with great pizza (and chicken parm) made with care and great service. We tried the New Haven style and a Vodka Parm. Being from the New Haven area I had a high bar they need to hit and they did. Perfect thin crispy crust with a touch of char and the right ratio of mozzarella to a delicious sauce with some salty parm to cut the sweet brightness of the tomato sauce. Bonus, it was even cut New Haven style with imperfect small to medium slice size. I don't know if they adjusted after Portnoy made his comment about the slicing style, but well done! Now for the chicky chicky parm parm.... Exceptional - What a huge surprise, delicious crispy thin chicken cutlets topped with delicious creamy vodka sauce and melted mozzarella. And they offer them in 4 different styles. Will go back very soon to try the others. If I had notes - slightly less mozz to checked ration and get a little more brown in the cheese. For a chicken parm it had such a light and flavorful feel. Often times too much sauce and gooey cheese overwhelm the chicken and at Three Proof the perfect chicken stands front and center and is well complimented by sauce and cheese.
