Service is A1 and everything was fast and wasted no time when I was there. I didn't like the pair of glasses that I had originally picked out so when I went back to the store, they gave me the option for store credit. You would have to pay for the lenses if the glasses you picked out are different shapes, which was the case for me. I didn't want to pay for the $40 extra lenses and was going to walk out and stick with the glasses that I had originally picked out but the owner (i think) had offered to replace my glasses for free! Update as of January 2019: I have returned a couple times for a contact lens prescription and to order contacts. The service has been consistently good. I've double checked their contact lenses prices against online vendors and, for me at least, ordering through Milan Optique was significantly cheaper (plus way less hassle), so that's a win. I live in Bay ridge and I've been coming to this Park Slope power team for years and they always seem to amaze me with how above and beyond they go for their patients and customers. I woke up unable to put my contacts into my right eye a couple days ago and managed to break my glasses in my sleep on top of it! So when I showed up to Milan Optique with one contact and a Bartending shift a few hours away they assessed the problem, sent a script for my eye drops 2 blocks away, AND THEY MADE ME AN EMERGENCY PAIR OF GLASSES just to hold me over til my awesome new lenses were delivered. I will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff who saved my sanity. I have nerve damage to one eye and needed prism glasses to help me with my vertical double vision. In a panic to get the glasses before going on a cruise, I went to a chain store to get my exam (let's call them Parby Warker). The optometrist screwed up my prescription and wrote "base out" for the prism instead of "base up." The result was I had glasses that only worked if I turned them 90 degrees. I was leaving for my cruise the next day and could barely walk straight. The wonderful technician (I didn't write down his name), did not give up. He found a way to remove the lens, turn it 90 degrees so the prism was on the bottom, cut it down and fit it into a frame. He was so kind. I had three other glasses places tell me it was impossible but this fabulous man did not give up until he found a solution. He saved my vacation and my sanity. read more

Two words I want to share from this experience are "beyond helpful." I felt nervous at first that I was getting my glasses adjusted by someone who I did not purchase from. Best experience at the eye doctor ever! I have severe myopia (aka nearsighted like Mr. Magoo lol) so an annual visit to the optometrist is an non-negotiable. And usually my appointments are fine then I take my prescription to Warby Parker or another online seller. The doctor was kind and informative, thoughtfully taking my questions during the check-up and was knowledgeable about LASIK and PRK options. Then when it was time to pick new frames Vlad patiently showed me dozens of options giving me his honest opinion. I got a pair I love without feeling like I was up-sold. I will be honest and say that i hadn't been to the eye doctor in about 7 years. Last time was at a Walmart in the south side of Chicago. At first i was a little confused because it was a completely different atmosphere than i expected. The place was lively and the staff was very personable, not your typical come in sit down and barely talk and business is business. Also i found out through my exam that i had been using a prescription that was too high in one of my eyes, unnecessarily straining it. I am so thankful that was brought to my attention. I was given a monthly pair of contacts, and i was directed towards the best lens i have ever had on a pair of glasses. The vision care that i received was helpful from top to bottom. I forget everyones name but i appreciated everyones advice and time. Overall, at first i was a little cautious because it was not like any eye doctor i had been to in the past. But in the end the entire crew including the owner really took their time with me and made sure that i walked out of there feeling great about my new glasses and improved vision. The service vibe here is more like a used car lot than an optometrist. Be sure you know what your insurance covers before you set foot in the door. The will try to double talk you into paying out of pocket for services your insurance already covers. Case in point: before I came in for an eye exam and contact fitting here, I made sure to check with my insurance company about what my policy covers and what I had to pay out of pocket. My insurance company was very clear that my only financial obligation would be $25 for an exam and contact fitting. Flash forward to me about to walk in for my exam, and one of the guys that works here gave me a long monologue about how I'd have to pay $150 for the contact fitting, then it became $99, then he said it would be another $60 because I have astigmatism. I explained that I'd already spoken with my insurance company about my fee being $25 and pointed that out on the paperwork he showed me about my coverage. He double talked his way out of our conversation and seemed very annoyed. Then during the exam, even though I asked about the "eye puff" test on the phone when I set up the appointment and after I wrote on my intake form that I have a family history of glaucoma, they didn't perform that part of the exam. When I came back to pick up my trial pair of contacts (that they didn't have at my original exam), there was lot of eye rolling from the receptionist about how the contacts were coming through my insurance company. They made me feel like I was bothering them by giving them my business. They speak to you like you're a five year old. The customer service vibe here is a fast-talking, pawn shop style. I intended to buy a new pair of glasses from them, but after experiencing their approach, I was happy to take my prescription and my business elsewhere. (Feb. 18 Update in response to Vlad) Read that response below. Does that seem like plain spoken truth to you? This is exactly the kind of double talk you can expect here. I came in asking for a specific brand knowing that my insurance company covered it, and everyone that works here wanted me to buy a brand that would have forced me to pay their office out of pocket for both the lenses and the exam.
