It was quite busy, with the headlining band eating right among the other patrons, but we were able to find one empty table which was nice. We ordered our drinks and sat down and enjoyed the atmosphere before the concert. This is a huge bistro, plenty of seating for a meal if you're in the area (with or without seeing something on at The Beacon) and plenty of nice staff members around to help. Even though we were only here for a quick drink, a staff member came over to make sure we weren't after a meal. Looking back, it would have been nice to have a bite to eat, as we weren't able to score any solid meal after the event, only drinks. Great place, and I love the star lamps in the windows.

We've had plenty of take-aways and meals in. Yes I even took my mum here when she visited. Apart from the one 'fresh salad' incident (we found a live caterpillar - see how fresh!) the have consistently been a joy to eat. They make their own sambal (chilli oil paste) and I have yet to find a similar one. The boss lady gave me a recipe at some point I remember vaguely.. It does differ in two regards :- Firstly, the meals are not as well prepared, the meats seem to be cheaper cuts over cooked for safety (Thankfully). The curries are stodgy and too brightly coloured to be safe. The reds and yellows look as if they have been stolen from the paint shop. Secondly, the service is very poor. It was both slow and inaccurate. In our group one meal was entirely forgotten. (Sadly though it did resurface - more than once) This place has changed hands a number of times in the last years and one has to wonder if the site is jinxed.
