I chose them for our deep clean because I liked Mary when we first met. She seemed professional and trustworthy, however, the service was terrible. She charged me $560 for a 1300 square foot house. When I checked how the house looked a week after they cleaned I was shocked at how dirty it was. They didn't vacuum the master bedroom which had piles of cat hair. They did not clean the master bathroom shower, it still had streaks of soap scum, and the glass shelves in the kitchen still had stains on them. Overall, I feel as if they took advantage of my not being there when they cleaned. I texted her about this and she never responded. I would never recommend them. read more

First of all let me say that the owner Mary is very nice and so is the staff, however the cleaning is horrible. After they left and I inspected my home I could see water spots in the sinks, bathroom walls and could see streaks in the mirrors everywhere. They came back out a few weeks later to fix the issues and the girl tells me "the water spots will only be removed with a special product we use but I didn't bring it today". Go figure... When it was all said and done it was a waste of our time, I had to clean it myself. To add to the dissatisfaction, I used a plain wet towel on my sink and the water spots were removed. read more

At this point I'd give negative stars if possible....I wrote the original review in April, after Mary failed to provide a service in which she set up. About a month later, we received a phone call from Mary who was following up with potential clients. She explained to us that a client had asked her to clean some extra rooms, last minute and that subsequently caused her to run over her expected schedule that day she set an appointment with us. She apologized for this and wanted our business to make up for her mistake. She even offered a discount on the cleaning to make up for it. Now, at this time, she had made no comment about the yelp review, which tells me she wasn't aware of it. My wife thanked her for the call and apology and told Mary that if we needed a house cleaner, we'd consider calling her in the future. Fast forward about a month later.... My wife and I talk about how impressed we were that Mary took the time to call us (albeit a month later) and apologize for her lack of service. Needing a house cleaner, we decided to call Mary to set up an appointment for her to clean our home. My wife asked if she remembered us and Mary said she did. Immediately, Mary asked if we were the ones who wrote the negative review about her on Yelp. We told her yes, we were, and that that review was written the same day that she messed up our first appointment. Mary started to argue about the negative yelp review we'd left, instead of taking this opportunity to change our minds, and or follow through on her previous offer to clean the house. Seriously, we called her to give her business another chance! I then told Mary that the yelp review is based on her lack of service as a business and that we were now giving her a second chance to change it, which is what she wanted when she called us a month ago. It was clear by the tone in her voice that she was frustrated. I told her we could have called any business to clean our home but we wanted to give her another try. She ended the call by telling us "you can call whoever you want, have a nice night." and hung up on me. This was very odd, as we were never rude to her during this conversation. Frankly, I was surprised she'd even bring up the yelp review, rather than just being content with picking up the business and opportunity to have the review changed! Mary, after asking us if we wrote the negative yelp review, and after we told you yes, the best thing you could have done was simply say "great, I want to take this opportunity to change your minds and your review" ....Instead, you complained about the review, became argumentative and reneged on the offer you made after calling and apologizing for your admitted poor service. I'm sure you clean a house just fine, but you're clearly a poor communicator. It was proven to us in the original review and you have proven it again today. You failed to provide a good service on our first meet. This type or lack of service is precisely what yelp is for. Now you can complain about 2 terrible reviews!! read more

I would also give negative Stars if I could. The only thing I'm going to say is if they had hired someone new this person has sticky fingers and took something very precious of mine., I wouldn't care if they had taken all the money in the house but not this, this was invaluable. So I'm very upset and all I want is the returned item but I don't think that will happen. Just watch your stuff if you have the service unless they let go of this person after this happened. Milan Cleaning Services was recommended to us by a "friend of a friend." We were on a deadline to show the house, which was suffering from long-term cleaning neglect (long story). I called Mary Wilcox (the owner), who set up an appointment for the next day to come by and see for herself what we needed done. This was key since the cost was, of course, dependent on the amount of work needed. I felt very comfortable at our meeting. Mary is charming, but also professional. As we showed her around the house, she made some suggestions as to cleaning priorities that were very helpful. We then set up an appointment for the cleaning ladies. Two ladies showed up at the appointed time, bringing all the needed cleaning equipment with them. Not long after they started their work Mary arrived and took them through everything we had discussed -- such attention to detail was very impressive and left no room for a misunderstanding of what was to be done. This is a long-winded way of saying that we were thrilled with the results! The ladies worked very hard, were systematic, and extremely efficient. We feel like we're living in brand-new house. Found this service on yelp, and therefore I felt I owed it to others like myself to write an honest review ...hired Mary several months ago, and she assured me she was sending her "best team" ...I don't know what her standards are, and I see other reviews that are good, but obviously not the team I have had at my home the last several months. I have tried working with the women who came ....showing them exactly what needed cleaned each time, trying to communicate (to very limited and non-English speaking ladies) and last week was the final straw, when my sinks weren't cleaned and my hardwood floors had "swirls" of cleaner left throughout the house. I had to clean after they left!!! So I texted Mary (always her form of communication with me) and have yet to get a response ...7 days later. OK, so I saw the service on fb as they cleaned a fb "friend". Someone I have never met but am friendly with on fb. Well, Mary the owner and i set up a meeting for her to come over and see what we required. We set up an appt for a few days later for her to bring her people to clean. I was VERY specific in that i wanted only certain things cleaned...and very clear about wanting things moved and cleaned on my counters, etc, The first time (2 people, 3 hours, $350)...a pretty good job was done. It smelled clean, etc. I asked her if she could send them on a weekly or bi montly basis and never heard from her. I had to call her again. Weird...you'd think she'd want the business. Ok, so I book them for another day 2 weeks later and say we'd like to spend $150. (2 bedroom 2.5 baths, NO laundry, NO dishes, NO beds)..mainly floors and counters and toilets...again 2 people but 2 hours (i get it we wanted to spend less) BUT...FOOD left in sink! (GROSS!!!!) spider webs in 4 different places in my kitchen and bathroom!, small appliances NOT moved at all on counter and DIRT behind it! OH HELL NO. I texted her photos and said i was not too pleased. Her only response was...I will talk to the girls...not "what can i do to remedy this situation"? I have heard nothing back in over a week. Also, floors only marginally clean. I can do a better job myself and i am not a cleaner! I don't understand this thinking, especially when there is a forum like this to leave honest reviews. I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled to write one after receiving a pretty amazing cleaning job by Milan Cleaners. I spoke to a woman named Mary by phone and after figuring out schedules and availability, her crew came about a week later (scheduling is always the hardest part of the process it seems with any service and seems to be the source of the lower reviews here. My only response would be is that I get the sense that Mary seems like a one woman operation so I'm sure she's doing her utmost, but for best results I would just follow through and not assume people will be there on time as schedules/availability change, personnel I'm sure changes, and things fall through the cracks- especially when it's more of a personal mom and pop operation). When the crew arrived, it consisted of 3 women who seemed very nice but more importantly took charge in cleaning the house. Being a guy who doesn't have cleaners all the time, I assumed they would just do the basics. They actually went above and beyond, fluffing pillows, organizing items after cleaning in the bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen, cleaning base boards, the top of the fridge and other places I just didn't think of but now seem so obvious. Overall, I thought they did a bang up job for a very fair price. A month has gone by since they came so I feel guilty in not leaving a review earlier. I can not say enough good things about Milan Domestic Services and its owner, Mary Wilcox. My husband and I (and our three dogs!) rented a house while we are having construction done on ours. Even though we will only be here a month, the house was so filthy it was practically unlivable! Mary did the initial walk-through with me and she even pointed out places to clean I had overlooked! Because no one had lived in the house for almost a year the amount of dust and grime was disgusting. I was surprised at how reasonable her pricing was and hired her in the spot!
