Burger Physical Therapy in Grass Valley is absolutely stellar. The best in the area by far, and I…read morehave been to many physical therapists over the years. This is the first place I can actually say that I leave feeling much better than I did when I walked in. I have been an endurance athlete who really pushed, and messed up my body. Then I developed Psoriatic Arthritis (an autoimmune disease), and had also experienced several fractures over the years doing stupid things. I secretly thought I was the king of pain for a while, and that pain was just something I was going to have to live with. UC Davis did some wonderful procedures that helped with the pain, but still it persisted. Until now. Frank is a professional to beat all professionals, in my book. He knows his stuff, and I know he does. I'm a former I.S.S.A. personal trainer, and licensed veterinary technician, as well as former mortician. My point with that mini resume is that with all those occupations, I had to study human anatomy, kinesiology, and biology and often I have known more about the human body than some of these so called pros in other physical therapy establishments. I know how to help myself, and what muscles, and processes are involved in my injuries in a lot of instances, but when I don't, Frank does! I felt so good after a few sessions, that my goal of being able to be steady, and in shape enough to start working out again was met, and Frank said I was free to do so, but start out very slow. But I felt so good, I didn't follow his advice, and just started running after a decade of not. I ran five miles! Two days later I did it again! Next week, same deal. I ran 20 miles in two weeks after being sedentary from illness and injury for a decade! How cool is that? Except, the uncool part, is that I didn't follow Frank's advice, and did not start out slow -- I went from zero to sixty in a day-- so I developed shin splints. It was such a painful condition, it sent me to the E.R. Three steps forward and two steps back. That's where I was. So back to Frank I go, and I was limping when I did. He performed some excellent manipulation, and did some myofascia releasing, massage, and kinetic tapping, and guidance in exercises to stabilize and improve mobility, and to ease pain. This morning I limped into the office, and today I walked out like a healthy 25 year old. (I'm 59). I am incredibly happy with the results. Frank rocks like no physical therapist has rocked before. I cannot recommend this physicality, and especially the work of Frank, enough. You owe it to yourself or loved one to get the very best, and the very best is Frank at Burger Physical Therapy.

Back when my son was at his 5 y/o annual well check-up, I mentioned to his Kaiser pediatrician that I had concerns my son's speech was not where it should be. The doctor referred us to their Speech and Language Dept. where, after a formal assessment, it was determined that my son could benefit from Speech Therapy. Kaiser then gave us a long (and I mean long) list of vendors to reach out to. After calling multiple vendors in the area, only to have them tell me that they had waitlists upwards of 40, I was both desperate and hopeful that Yvonne would be available. I did not want to have to wait weeks, if not months, to get my son started. He was just starting kindergarten, and I did not want him to struggle socially or emotionally due to his speech. I left Yvonne a voicemail and she called me back soon after to inform me that she was able to take us on. Since both of our schedules were very busy and it was still somewhat during the pandemic (2021), we ended up booking Zoom sessions. I was skeptical at first about how practical and effective Zoom would be, but our first session quickly proved that it was going to work. Yvonne is super fun, patient, and efficient. She uses engaging and colorful games that my son immediately took to. He always looked forward to his weekly speech sessions because Yvonne always had something new and exciting to work on. I enjoyed watching her interact with my son as she was often genuinely enthused by his recap of his school day or weekend plans. She leads with positive reinforcement and gives a very helpful summary to the parents at the end of each session. We were given realistic tasks each week of what we (as a family) could be helping our son with daily. Nothing ever seemed too far reaching. Yvonne was very communicative and accessible via phone and email. There were times we had to reschedule, and she was always so kind in helping to find another time that worked in our busy schedules. Yvonne also worked collaboratively with my son's school Speech-Language Pathologist. In the weekly Zoom sessions, Yvonne worked on both her own goals as well as those summarized from his school. It was very comforting to know that our son was getting the best of the best. I cannot say enough great things about Yvonne without making her sound too good to be true. My son was so sad to learn that he was graduating from speech therapy after one year with Yvonne. He felt so empowered after each 30-minute session. My husband and I noticed that our son eventually self-corrected his speech, and would proudly announce to us that he was doing so. The therapists we've had have all been good, there have just been several changes with my son's assigned therapists which can be difficult for little ones. I think this has to do with the time of year we came in, with several people working just for the summer and leaving in July/August due to their training programs ending or school year based jobs picking up again.
