This year my girlfriend and I wanted to cut down our own Christmas tree, figured it would be a cool experience. I looked up a few places and decided to go with this one. The parking was rough but we found a good spot then started the hour long task of finding a suitable tree. It's a very large tree farm but there really weren't many good options. Thankfully, with help from my godson, we found a good tree. 7', nice and full. But way overpriced. Easily $30 more than it should be. The staff was great tho. Very helpful and friendly. There are 2 tree farms literally right next to each other, they charge the same so it comes down to which trees you think look better. It was a cool experience but I probably won't be coming back. Your local fire department will have just as good if not better trees for much cheaper.

Lots of healthy trees at Mike's Christmas Tree Farm

Mike's trees are the healthiest trees I've seen on Long Island. The selection is fantastic and the tractor ride is a lot of fun. The workers have a lot of personality and they help tie the trees to your car. Lots of Christmas spirit!

Open Saturdays and Sundays only, from November 17th until December 22nd, this is one of our Long Island treasures. I've been using a fake tree for a few years now. I missed having the smell of a real Christmas tree in the house. It gives a special holiday vibe when I see it all decorated. Sure, you can buy a tree from a guy on the side of the road. Drag it to your car and zoom away. How about taking a saw out in the field, choosing your tree and sawing it down?* That's exactly what I did at Carter Christmas Tree Farm. My wife then grabbed an end and we brought it to the front to get wrapped for travel. Don't worry, they have the saws available for you. Once you bring your tree home, you'll need a stand. I had an old stand, 4 screws that tighten around the tree. The tree I purchased from Carter Christmas Tree Farm had a thicker trunk. I had to run to Ace Hardware and purchase a new stand. Carter Christmas Tree Farm sells wreathes for your front door as well as other items needed to decorate your house for Christmas. Thanksgiving weekend is when we like to decorate, if your in the area I highly recommend Carter Christmas Tree Farm for your next freshly cut Christmas tree. *Next year I'm getting a tree with a root ball so I can re plant the tree on my property.

(Husband is military) We have NEVER had this problem... SO MANY SPIDERS. Dude who left that review was not exaggerating. It wasn't just one or two. My husband thought I was crazy at first...until we woke up the next morning and there were little spiders EVERYWHERE. Obviously they aren't going to hurt us or anything but I have three little kids and I don't want them decorating a tree infested with spiders. I don't know if it's this place or the area, but might be buying a fake tree this year. We put the tree in our backyard. That's where it will live. The one star is for the actual experience of going to the farm and cutting down the tree. That was the best part. Bummer
