We have been going to Mike's tree farm for several years. It's been a great experience. The staff is friendly and Mike and his wife are very hospitable. This is a come get your tree, cut it down, wave over one of the guys get picked up in the tractor, ride back and have it wrapped. They will bring it to your car and tie it up. If only there was an option for zero stars. Apparently this year is a Christmas Tree Shortage. We always Harvest our tree every year and was in need of a new place since the shortage. We google Tree Farms out East and this location popped up with 5 stars. That was my first mistake not going on Yelp. Anyway, A few things I wasn't a fan of at the farm is that they don't shake the tree for any bugs. The tracker wasn't safe for small kids. We harvest our tree on November 24th, Not even a week later the needles started to fall and fall heavy, our ornaments started falling to the ground and breaking and then the lights started dropping. Now the tree is officially a fire hazard. First thing I checked was my water levels which was great but for some reason the tree was not drinking it. More needles started to fall over time and by Dec 8 the tree literally had no needles. I would not recommend harvesting any Christmas Tree from this farm at all otherwise your children will be extremely disappointed. It took us over 2 hours to just clean up all the needles from this tree. Definitely not worth your time or money to even patronize this business. I did call the farm to complain about what happen and the woman said to bring it back for a tree exchange. I would never come back here and why would I want to bring back a dead tree. The time I tie it down to the car the remaining needles will be all over my driveway again and now my vehicle as well all over my self. read more

This year my girlfriend and I wanted to cut down our own Christmas tree, figured it would be a cool experience. I looked up a few places and decided to go with this one. The parking was rough but we found a good spot then started the hour long task of finding a suitable tree. It's a very large tree farm but there really weren't many good options. Thankfully, with help from my godson, we found a good tree. 7', nice and full. But way overpriced. Easily $30 more than it should be. The staff was great tho. Very helpful and friendly. There are 2 tree farms literally right next to each other, they charge the same so it comes down to which trees you think look better. It was a cool experience but I probably won't be coming back. Your local fire department will have just as good if not better trees for much cheaper. read more

This is the smallest most expensive tree I've ever gotten and will never ever return to mikes. I'm really let down, and seeing it in the stand, I'm ashamed of it. It's quite underwhelming and not a third of our ornaments will fit, yet the only taller tree they had was bare bones and ugly. I feel like it ruins Christmas to have such a goofily small tree lol. He charged me 95 bux and I got a tree I have to put in blocks or some shit. Awful experience I won't repeat. I have been Coming here for 3 years, and have a few issues that can and should be corrected. The price you are told per foot per tree, is not always the price they charge you at the register, they try to jack up the price of the tree. Be stern and say no, that was not what I was told per foot!! Tell them what you were told and refuse to pay a cent more . Mike put color codes in your Trees with prices visible for public to see, so it avoids this yearly discrepancy the public has expressed!! Thanks Mike! I'm honestly surprised to see such negative reviews about Mike's Tree Farm, but it's all about perspective and what is is you are searching for. Pros: the staff here are exceptional at helping to create a positive experience. Everyone had a smile and were very patient when we asked questions. One gentlemen even took us around for a bit to help us. We then explored on our own and it was wonderful, the farm is large! Pet friendly! It was really special to be able to bring our dog and take fun pictures in the trees. We went during the week and it was very quiet! Great time to stop by and look in peace. It truly is "cut your own". Some places will say so but have trees already precut, this one you will be cutting your own, saws are provided. "Possible" Con: there were many many many trees and healthy looking, but they were much smaller than what we were looking for. These trees, at least this year are more tabletop size, we didn't find anything more than 6' so that was a bummer. Parking lot is TIGHT! Again, get there early or during the week when it's leas crowded otherwise you'll be out of luck on parking. read more

Wow this place is embarrassing . Don't waste your time. For starters this place is in a backyard. I wasn't too disturbed by this but it definitely took away from the "cut your own tree" experience. What was more horrifying was the prices. I don't know how this place has the jingle balls to charge $52 for a 4 foot tree and to top it off all the trees look like something out of a Charlie Brown Christmas. Nothing about these trees was good. I feel bad writing such a harsh review because the staff was helpful and honest. Mike's trees are the healthiest trees I've seen on Long Island. The selection is fantastic and the tractor ride is a lot of fun. The workers have a lot of personality and they help tie the trees to your car. Lots of Christmas spirit! read more

I love this place!! We come here every year, they started selling homemade ornaments which are so beautiful and well made. Our dog is welcome which is a huge plus and there a tons of trees to choose from. I loved the guy dressed as Santa, so festive. HORRIBLE! After parking Our Car, We were basically being yelled at to Re-park our Car, by this Old Cranky Man. No clue if he was Mike, or not. There was nothing wrong with where we parked, as any car could easily get around us. There was no reasoning behind it either, as this parking area is small to begin with. There were few cars there, and it didn't feel right to give into this Nut, whereas we would've spent $100+ for a Huge Tree. After reading other Reviews, the Old Cranky Man might've did us a Favor. We drove to this spot to start a Tradition that would go many years with Our Family. But Not at this Dump. Horrible manners from this guy & shame on you. No Christmas Spirit. After we got back in the car, another family was walking back to there car, empty handed. There are Many other Tree Farms out there, avoid this One. I wanted to cut our own tree this year. After Black Friday we chose them because they provided the saw and help tying to car roof. We searched for nearly an hour, slim pickings. Literally. Trees were small, dry, or not full at all. Some even looked like bushes. I didn't like not knowing what tree was what. It helps to know. Like Norway spruces shed a lot but idk what it looks like. The blue spruce was a needle in the haystack. Finally settled on one. It wasn't the perfect tree and yet she made sure to get their bucks for the half foot it had lol. Get home, soaked it overnight and next day after all the ornaments are on, I noticed so many freakin spiderssss! It was a live tree so I get it but they claim to have treated the tree, didn't expect so many critters jumping around. It's back outside getting washed! Also it topped over, they could've sawed off the lower branches that I didn't know to cut off thinking the stump length was good enough. What do i know his is my first tree?! Don't be fooled there are 2 farms right next to eachother. One is Mike and just on the other side of the fence is Matt. After making our annual trip out east to Cutchogue to visit Santa at Santa's Tree Farm we found that there was absolutely nothing there to be brought home. Mind you we are looking for a tree in November just after Thanksgiving. Way earlier than necessary. We were very disappointed as we had our two month old daughter and our dog with us. So my husband looked up and found Mike's Tree Farm on the way home in Manorville. When we pulled up Santa Claus was waiting ring his Bell at the end of the driveway. Before we even got out of the car we knew that we came to the right place to find the perfect Christmas tree. Our biggest dilemma now was which one to choose. Mike's Place had a huge selection. And if we didn't find one we liked here, Matt's place was right next door. Price was decent and much cheaper than what we would have spent and we chop down a tree at Santa's Tree Farm . Their prices are right around the same as what you would spend at Lowe's or Home Depot but much better quality product. Keep in mind this place is cash only sorry no credit cards ( Matt's place is as well.) But if you come little short like we did there's an ATM down the road at the Handy Pantry or a Chase Bank down in town. Also if you were looking for anything such as trinkets or ornaments you will not find them here. But you will find good quality trees, friendly service and assistance if needed. This is not the first time that we were cutting down our tree so we came prepared. Don't worry if you don't bring a saw or rope to tie your Christmas tree to your car they have some to lend. My husband and I both agree that after looking at this Farm versus the ones that we've seen out on the north-east end numerous times we will be returning here next year. First this is not a tree farm it's trees planted behind mikes house. You actually turn into his driveway. Our 6ft tree had no smell, was dry and dead in a week. The "tree backyard" was loaded with trash. We walked past a bathtub, plastic pails and assorted garbage. We paid 75 cash for a tree that was terrible. Do yourself a favor stay away. read more
