I've been coming to this little market for at least 14 years I used to live right around the corner…read moreso it was handy if I had to grab something in a pinch. I wanted some oranges today I decided to go get them from Leon because one orange nowadays at Vons or Ralph's is like 2 to $3 Anyway I noticed they had some organics which was nice because I don't think they have that before or else I never noticed it anyway I got container of organic tomatoes and a big bag of oranges for like $5 and I'm like holy shit that's a great deal just telling the clerk you can't even get an orange for $2 at Vons and a container of those organic tomatoes are minimum $5 I would give it five stars but there's just a very limited selection and some of the produce isn't the best but that's what you get when you're in a little hole on the wall grocery in your neighborhood.

I love that this market is in the North Park / University Heights neighborhood. They carry a good…read morerange of fresh produce and pantry staples--including alternative milks and soyrizo for any folks like myself who lessen their dairy and meat intake. They've saved me from having to make another trip to the grocery store many times, and price are pretty decent. The folks that have helped me out are always friendly!

This is such a nice farmers market! Civita Park is very clean, nicely maintained, and family…read morefriendly. Lots of families come here with their kids and dogs! The farmers market stands are set up in one row across the walkway of the front of the park. It's a relatively small farmers market, and you can walk through the whole thing within 5 minutes. Even though it's small, there are plenty of good options. Food stands can include filipino, arepas, thai, argentinian, gyros, quesibirria, sushi, sourdough, desserts, and more! There are also some specialty food stands like probiotic drinks, beef jerkey, and dried fruit candy. And of course there are a couple of fresh veggie stands. On my last visit I got an iced americano from the coffee cart, and a chicken sisig plate from the filipino food stand. I enjoyed my brunch in the shade. The park has plenty of shady and grassy spots to chill at. A great farmers market to visit on Saturdays 9am-1pm!

Although there are only vendors only a small strip at the front of the park, there was enough variety to keep me intrigued for a little bit. And I had time to take a stroll around which adds to the effect of a beautiful Saturday morning here. I ended grabbing some fresh berries to go (and bought from a lady who was handcrafting doggy bandanas)! Highly recommend for a morning stroll, snack break and perhaps some picnicking with friends, sounds like a chill Saturday.

If Willy Wonka ever pivoted to Southeast Asian groceries, it would look exactly like Thuan Phat…read more This place is a full‑scale Vietnamese fever dream disguised as a normal supermarket. You walk in expecting Vons. You get Saigon. The produce section alone deserves its own theme music. Herbs, mushrooms, greens you didn't even know had names -- all fresher and cheaper than anything your American supermarket is pretending to offer. It's a straight-up cornucopia. Then you hit the meat counter and suddenly Ralphs and Vons feel like they should issue an apology. Marrow bones, femurs, trotters -- if you're making pho, ramen, chicken stock, or just want to feel like a culinary warlock, this is your playground. You will walk out with ingredients you didn't plan on buying and absolutely no regrets. Every aisle has some kind of delightful chaos. Dried pineapple flowers for homemade bitters for your signature cocktail? Absolutely. Industrial-sized bags of frog meat? Listen... maybe not for me. But if you need it, this is the place. No judgment, only abundance. It's as big as any mainstream grocery store, but stocked with so much cool stuff it feels like a teleportation portal to Southeast Asia. You come for one thing, you leave with twenty, and somehow you're still thrilled about it. Five stars. A must-visit. And if you start making better broth after shopping here, you can thank me later.

There are plenty of items that I've never seen before, but I always find a nice person in the aisle either shopping or working for the store to explain to me what something is and how to work it into a dish! They have a lot of vegetarian items in the frozen food section. I haven't disliked one of them yet. One of my favorites is burdock patties which very closely resemble in texture and taste a McDonald's hamburger! I also like the shredded vegetarian lamb, their marinated chicken, and today I bought textured protein beef steaks to try. I know that some of the bigger producers of vegetarian and vegan foods have somewhat of a limited line of taste to try, so here's a store with an expanded vegetarian protein frozen food line. I posted one of the pictures below, and then, guess what? Kit Kats in matcha flavor, oooh! You'll find their aisles are prominently marked with signs above. Many visits Iv'e found they are sampling one to three items (always tempting.) Free large parking lot outside. Right along the bus line. Cash or card.
