We are pleased with the service and the level of care. It was nice that they stopped sometimes to…read moreget some input before proceeding and they had ideas for improvements to the project. These are clean, organized and communicative professionals. My project was small but complicated. We have an odd counter top extension that sort of hung out at a weird angle, we did not use and took up an entire room of the house (it is a small house). It was becoming a place for accumulating junk. This project required that they cut off a section of granite countertop and detach the extension from the floor. Then they trimmed the granite to a new length it so that they could reposition it with a CLEAN SEAM. It looks great and now I have more usable counter top space for cooking, the kids have a counter to sit at for breakfast and we have an extra room in the house. The big problem now is that we are arguing over the space (I want a sewing room, the kids want a desk and my husband has other plans :) Keywords: cabinets, counter, granite, marble, clean, granite cutting, diamond blade, stone, cabinet repositioning, adjusting their height, level, decorative molding, gaps between surfaces, countertop, trim, wood, metal, metallic, laminate, sealing, sealant, granite countertops, professional, efficient, innovative, collaborative, detail-oriented, zelle. I do not recommend using this company…read more This will be a long review, but I want to provide details so customers can make an informed decision. For people skimming, here's the TLDR: Some of Southern Textures' teams do noticeably substandard work that leaves your home worse off--including breaking lighting fixtures--and management does a poor job rectifying that. We have been waiting on a refund since 7/6/26 and will update if it's given. *** Here's the long version: I see a lot of glowing reviews for Southern Textures (Dav-Dan Enterprises), and I was recommended this company by my mom, so I believe they can do good work--just perhaps not with the team in my area (Lake Worth). And when they make big mistakes, they don't seem to fix them. The details: We had a popcorn ceiling removal and knockdown texture job done June 22-24. When we came to see the work the next day, we found: - cracking throughout the house (I included a few photos, but it's everywhere) - tape flashing through the paint - paint spilled on walls, fixtures, and the floor - a missing light fixture (no one mentioned breaking anything, but we found some glass from the light fixture in the corner) I'm flabbergasted that so much could go wrong at once. Not only was the house left in worse shape, but it seems like prep work was skipped entirely, causing significant cracking and peeling. But life happens. We gave them a chance to make it right and honor the warranty. They said they'd replace the light and send a team to fix everything the following Friday at 9:30 AM. Friday came. No word. After over an hour, we reached out and were told it was pushed to 12-1. That came and went too without communication. We reached out again, and we were told the team was tied up on a complicated job and would come later. We waited until 4 before accepting they weren't coming. We called more times than we were comfortable with to confirm that. Bridget (the office manager) kept saying she would relay info to David (the owner) and they'd call back with more info. That didn't happen. At one point, when we called, Bridget told us David was in charge of scheduling and she had no information. Later that day, David said Bridget should have scheduled us at 9:30 am--ahead of the other complicated job--and that this was all her fault. We were bounced back and forth between the two of them, but didn't find out until 4:30 via a text from David that no one was coming. David also told us he was in the hospital but that he'd be back Monday, and he assured us we were on the schedule for Monday at 9:30 AM and that the crew would tell us when they were on their way. By this point, we'd found other complaints and litigation history involving the LLC behind the company, so we were skeptical--but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. My mother drove an hour to meet the crew Monday morning since we couldn't be there due to work. 9:30 came and went. No word. We texted David and got nothing. We called the office once and Bridget said she didn't know anything but was texting David, who said he would update her and get right back to us. We waited and nothing. I called the office an hour later and was forwarded to an answering machine immediately on both lines. I told my mom she probably could head home soon, but to try calling once more just to check. Bridget picked up for her--and told her we were harassing them, just for trying to find out if their team was coming. We finally asked for a refund. Suddenly, David then answered our texts and said he was back in the hospital. We have sympathy for that. We were still never given an explanation for the team not showing up, or why we weren't told about it. When we called another contractor about fixing the work, he said he wasn't surprised that Southern Textures was dragging their feet: Apparently, it would take much more work to fix everything than what was required from the original job. At some point you have to recognize you're being strung along. We're still requesting a refund as of 7/6/26 and will update this review if given.
