This is the best and most inexpensive massage you will ever have in the US! $30 for an hour of deep tissue pleasure! I have been coming to him for the last three years. He advertised in Northampton at Smith College and I was skeptical but other people were raving abut him. They were right! I heard you go to his office in the woods that sounded strange but then I went and WOW. He works out of his and his wife's home in the woods. He is a kind and friendly giant with the most muscle hands ever. I don't usually like massages from men but I feel so safe and comfortable with him. He is very calm and careful and asks about your preferred pressure and areas to focus on. He does incredible deep tissue, Swedish and Reiki body work. Do yourself a favor and book a weekly massage. Mike is simply the best. I echo what all the other reviewers have to say: he is skilled and gifted. His prices are amazing, particularly because working people can't always afford to have their bodies worked on -- Mike is dedicated to helping people of all price points find a way back to health and to feeling good in their bodies! My massage was incredible - challenging old knots and overstressed muscles with extremely skilled and intuitive hands. I felt pushed to let go (which is an art form that I so desired and needed) and could feel my body relax and come into itself, which is such a gift. Furthermore, after the parts that felt challenging (and so good) was a deeply relaxing massage situation. I simply drifted away, it was better than falling asleep. I felt so recharged and relaxed after, it was a transformative massage to be sure. Today I had my first massage appointment with Mike. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was a bit nervous. I had absolutely no reason to be! What a great experience! Mike is a kind, and very skilled masseuse. I loved how interested he was in making sure he addressed all my needs during our session. I have a lot of back pain, and I haven't found any relief in years - I've been to a chiropractor and physical therapy. Great massage therapist. Has "the touch." Sometimes you pay for a massage and the person starts in and you're thinking, "Does this person have any idea how to touch a person? Did they study massage therapy, to not advance past 'Roll your elbow real hard into their shoulder and then do something with their back??? Squeeze real hard on the tense spots??? Dig in??" Ick.
