Tom Camaj truly is an epoxy specialist. And he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. He was part of…read morethe job crew. He took our dirty and crack patched garage floor and turned into a 'car guy's garage'. He was personable, courteous and respectful of us before, during and after the job. Although my husband had already obtained two other estimates and evaluated the different companies, he wanted one more estimate. Tom came to our home, evaluated the condition and size of the garage floor. Then discussed the pros and cons of the different finishes and colors available. Lastly, he addressed the cost without pressure for a sale. By the time Tom left, he had another epoxy floor to do and my husband was finally going to get the garage floor he was wanted for the last 16 years. All at a price agreeable to everyone. While my husband was eager to have the garage floor completed, Tom paid close attention to the weather waiting for ideal weather conditions for working with epoxy. Between Tom and my husband, they decided Saturday was a 'go'. It was then followed by four beautiful days of sunshine and warmer temperatures. As the floor was just done, we are now in the 14 day 'wait to driver on it' period. And as for long term normal wear and tear only time will tell, with Epoxy Floor Coating Tom Camaj

Let me start by saying that i know the contractors in this area are VERY busy, and finding one that…read morecan get you into their schedule is a task in and of itself. Finding a good one is probably even more difficult. But let's address the issue of professionalism.... I called Avalon with a multi-faceted project that needs to happen at my house. Floor joist replacement, porch cap, framing in a roof over my front porch, and then reroofing the whole house. Not exactly a small job. Talked to Patrick, explained the work that needs to be done. He said he would call to set up an appointment the next morning when he was near his calendar. Didn't call the next morning, so i called him. We set up an appointment for the next week. He never showed. Didn't call. Just didn't show. So, while my review is not a review of the quality of work this company does, it IS a review of their complete lack of professionalism. I can only guess that this lack of professionalism extends to the work they do.

I had a very serious structural problem at my newly purchased home. Mike Riddle came to give me a…read morequote. I had 3 or 4 other people look at the job, but I didn't feel comfortable with them. I called Mike again and he took the time to come out again and look at the project and explain in detail what was wrong and what he was going to do to fix it. For the amount of work and seriousness of this project, Mike's price was more than fair. He emailed me a detailed list of what work would be performed and the total. He was easy to reach by phone, always on time and just a really good, stand up guy.The house was built incorrectly from the beginning in 1977. Avalon had to come in and cut the basement floor, pour concrete, put in a new foundation pole, let it cure for a week, then jack up the house from the basement, put in a new header, put the house back down on the new pole/header. Then go to the first floor and again, jack the entire second floor up, tear out old warped header, put in two new headers in two different areas and then set the entire second floor back down on the new headers. Also, the subfloor was warped so they ripped out the subfloor, straightened everything out and put in new 1/2" plywood in the areas needed. Very, very professional. This was a very hard job and as you can imagine, I was worried beyond belief that I made the wrong choice in buying this home. Mike at Avalon made me feel secure.

Then boards are not to code so over night that check. They never called and canceled the financing on the roof. For some reason they fired the girl I got the amount from. I've never gotten a new roof or financing roof. I just lost everything in a house fire not long before moving in o this home. Jeff was the one that introduced himself as the supervisor and come to find out he is the owner. We had to pay the bank because we didn't think about canceling through the bank and calling them. I trusted them we ended up paying another amount almost the exact amount that was for the boards almost $6,000 more. So over $10,000 first check almost $6,000 for the up to code cost. Then another almost $6,000 to the bank! Does that even sound like the correct amount for a 1,055 sq foot home and didn't even do the garage either. That's a lot of money for just the roof of the size of the home. Plus they put white chaff on my chimney instead of the brown I picked out they said would replace they came and spray painted it. Then when I ask for the detailed billing they told me they don't do that. I had to call my insurance company to get that l?? No all they sent me was the cost of the damage from the tornado hitting surrounding area. The total of the check they sent me not a detailed bill for the roof showing the cost of material and labor. I don't know if it's still in time line of suing is passed. But I have all the paperwork and notes still. Be careful I had my roof done in 2023.maybe 2022. Beware

This summer I asked them to look at expanding my office. I paid $2000 for them to come up with some drawings. My plans changed and the work scope was reduced. I called them to see if they could do the work by end of this year. They did not return my phone calls or my emails. However, I kept trying. Again, they never returned my calls. I finally spoke to his wife, Lori. She told me he did not return my calls because I had changed the scope of the project. I asked if they treated their good customers this way, who do they treat their bad customers. No answer. Here I am trying to give them a job and pay them good money and they don't even have the courtesy to call back. I would highly recommend you look somewhere else before you contact Garnder Builders.
