I have used Mike Scott in the past and don't remember being gouged for the work. He actually came after hours a couple months ago to fix a leak in my bathroom which turned out to be the faucet that he couldn't do anything about because the hose that was leaking was part of the faucet So he said get new faucets So I finally got some new faucets they said yes would work but the charge just to replace 2 bathroom faucets was like 585$ plus they wanted another 88 $ just to check on a slow draining sink which was one of the sinks he had to replace the faucet on So I have no idea what the hell is wrong with this picture but I can't afford his trip to Tahiti or his wife's Lois Voiton So I'm getting someone more reasonable I mean WTH??? God forbid I asked him to replace the 2 toilet seats too The bill would have hit like over 700$ I will never use them again that's ridiculous not to mention these faucets are easy to install as most of the reviews on them people were doing it themselves with no issues and the toilet seats are super easy as well whatever I'm certain I can find someone else to do this very simple job for me and not price gouge me Good luck if you decide on this company And I wonder why I was asked if they built my house? You must watch over the techs when they come to your home! The service person that came out told me that he cleaned my filter and checked for leaks. a week later I had to call them back out because the toilets was backing up. New service people came out and I was informed that the previous tech told me (and showed me) the filter that was full of junk. I was also shown the filter caps that was damaged and holes around the filter that allowed junk getting into my system, I called the office and was told that I was responsible for both calls and when I asked whom I was talking to the lady told me that her name was manager. I contacted Mike Scott plumbing, spoke with Ava, they sent our Jose Garzon, who stated he has been with the company for years. Jose assessed our kitchen leak, advised of what we needed to purchase so he could return the next day to complete the repair. We paid the $75 service/arrival fee and Jose advised that we would not need to pay that again when he came back. I called the next day to schedule Jose to return and was told the cost would be $301. I asked Ava what the total included and she said $75 for service/arrival fee, an hour of labor and parts. I explained we paid the $75 fee yesterday with Jose, and he said we would not be charged that fee again for him to finish the repair. Ava called me back and said "I spoke with the manager and you will be paying the $75 fee again no matter what the plumber said." There are PLENTY of plumbers in this area, I will not use Mike Scott plumbing again. BUYER BEWARE!!!! UPDATE 3/5/26 They contacted me, sent out a new plumber and did not charge me the service fee again. They replaced our kitchen faucet and replaced tubing. 5 STARS NOW !! read more

called to have a blower motor and control panel replaced on my non working 3 yr old Rheem tankless water heater. it was still under warranty, so I was only paying for service. I called in the am to make sure the service rep had the parts before coming out. when he got to my place he diagnosed it with needing a control panel and blower motor. He wanted to charge me $144 for the assessment and didn't have the parts with him to fix it. They were going to charge me again for another service call after the parts came in. I've used these guys twice and first time was great for outdoor faucet repair. Second time sprinkler controller replacement went well and quickly but repair person overcharged me for his time. He was there 16 minutes which meant he had to charge me for 2 15 minute increments which is fair. I made payment and when I got the invoice from Mike Scott office I saw that he had charged me for an hour of labor. Tech neglected to send me the invoice I guess because we talked about his time there and the charges didn't match up to the time. Bryant Orshal was the techs name so be warned if he is your technician. He showed up 90 minutes after I got the 'he is on the way' text so I guess he billed me for whatever he was doing in that 90 minutes.. read more

I requested a quote for a gas line from the meter to my pool heater. Two techs came out and after viewing the job they said they will contact me with the estimate. I called the following evening and was told it could take two days, that was on a Friday. I emailed the following Monday and got no response. It is now 12 days later and I still have not heard back from them. I received two other estimates from two companies recommended by the gas company, both gave me an estimate while they were here and I got the job done two days afterwards. No call no show for a new water heater install. Old water heater was taken out and ready for them to just install new one. Appt was 2-6pm. I called at 5pm to see when they were coming. Guess what they then said oh we can be there tomorrow morning. I told them old one was removed so I have zero water. Didn't make a difference. Definitely not the plumber for the elderly or handicap. I saw in Neighborhood that Mike Scott had the best price for new hot water tanks. My hot water tank is going so I called. The woman asked me what size tank it was. I answered that I didn't know but I want it replaced with at least a 40 gallon tank. Then she asked me how tall the tank was. Again, I answered, " I don't know. " I was told I would have to go measure the tank and know the gallons. I informed her that I was handicap and my wife was over 80. Because of the location of the tank we weren't able to do that. I was told that no measurements no appointment. Today I am going to find a plumber, not just an order taker. read more

Replaced a Kohler double sink with a single bowl. Mike Scott Plumbing did a terrific job. Recommended an excellent granite contractor for removal of the old and placement of the new sink. Plumbers showed up exactly on time. No up-sell, just did the job, reused what they could. Very pleased with the end result and cost. For me they are also local. I recommend them. read more

I hired a plumbing company to fix the sink strainer that was leaking water into the cabinet. I chose MIKE SCOTT PLUMBING for the repair, and initially, everything seemed fine. However, about a month and a half later, I opened the cabinet only to find that it was still dripping water. When I contacted the company, I was informed that I would need to pay for the repair again. This work was completed at the end of August. In my opinion, this is quite unacceptable and reflects poorly on their business practices. I could have been a loyal customer for life if I had been treated with the importance I deserve. When I expressed my intention to warn others about my experience, they responded indifferently, showing a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. You just lost a loyal customer. read more

I needed a new hose bib installed to replace a leaking one. I'm recently handicapped so what I normally could do myself now needs to be done by others. I give them 3 stars because they showed up on time and did the repair for the amount quoted. But the material at Lowes was $10 and they were here for 15 minutes and the cost was $250. Absolute menace. If you want a mature., professional, and considerate human being, hire someone else. No one that lives anywhere near this guy would ever hire him. You know that one house that ruins the neighborhood? Mike Scott Plumbing. When everyone was looking for gas after the hurricane, this guy was illegally driving laps with his loud dune buggy and motorcycles while two large service water trucks sat illegally in the road blocking an entire lane for a week. Constant flow of noise and machines and engines running from 6am-11pm. He even revs his engines at the stop signs in our quiet residential neighborhood and peels out on the roads. Turns the whole street into a smokey war zone on the 4th of July. Can only imagine what the service is like when this guy can't even be a decent person. read more

I had no hot water; I phoned Mike Scott Plumbing and they sent someone out within an hour (and this was later in the day); diagnosis was I needed a fan motor. Received Rheem fan motor within three days (under warranty). Phoned Mike Scott Plumbing at 5:15 pm on a Friday night to schedule install and they sent someone out to put fan motor in within an hour. New guys determined I needed a circuit board as well. A little irritated that it was missed by the first guy as I would have to wait another couple of days for the circuit board. Asked it their fee could be waived as it was missed by the first guy. Jeff (great tech) came in and said they were going to replace my whole water heater at no charge (two years old). Came back Saturday morning at 8:45 am and installed. GREAT, GREAT SERVICE. Highly recommend. Service fee initially was $165 (very reasonable)... Give them a call... read more

Warranty office advised that since my home is under warranty, I would not be billed for the repair, unless plumber found "unexpected household items in the toilet." Normally I do not write reviews But in this case I feel I must. Had my sink trap and piping cleaned out a couple weeks Ago Well the problem is back?? Shoggy work. We are two seniors we don't do anything Unusual with the sink. I called today and asked them to rectify their shoddy work for no charge. Their reply was, they do not guarantee their workmanship. In 2016, we had Mike Scott Plumbing pump out our septic tank. They said our drain field was failing and we needed a new one. In April of 2017, we had them install a new drain field. The salesperson at the time said the new system should be good for 15 years. I asked specifically about damage to the irrigation system. The sales person said any damage would be repaired by the team in the course of having it installed. The installed the new system, damaged three irrigation lines, buried them without repair and left. I called Mike Scott, but was told at the time it's not their problem. Now, six years later, the "new" drain field is failing. Two weeks ago, the tank was full. I hired a (different) local company to pump the tank and he discovered the filter was inaccessible. The system was pumped in Dec 2016 by Mike Scott, the filter was accessible at that time and it has not been touched by anyone since the 2017 drain field installation. Therefore, the only way the filter could have been damaged was during their installation. I called Mike Scott Plumbing and explained the situation. They said it's not their fault, but they could set an appointment to look at it for $150 and then give me a quote to fix it. I told them they should stand behind their work and I wasn't going to pay for them to look at it and tell me its not working. I already know that. Now, less than 2 weeks later after having it pumped and the filter repaired, the tank is full again. The attached picture is how the other company found the filter when the opened the tank approx. two weeks ago. Bottom line, Mike Scott Plumbing installed a defective drain field, damaged my irrigation system and also damaged the existing filter making it inaccessible. The plumber from Mike Scott didn't repair what we originally called him for, found something else to fix, quoted us "not more than $50," then charged $105, and even blamed us by saying "we should have known." While I was visiting my mother, she had a plumber from Mike Scott come to look at her water softener. It seemed to be leaking, but the location of the leak was not clear. The plumber, named Nelson, could not find the leak either, but somehow ended up suggesting that he do some other repair to help the hot water arrive at the kitchen faucet more rapidly. My mother was interested in this and asked how much it would cost. In the discussion Nelson said "not more than $50." My mother understood that there would be a charge for coming out, plus the cost of the repair. She agreed to have the work done. After the repair, the plumber presented an invoice for $170. The charge for coming out to look was $65, and so the charge for the job was $105---more than twice what she believed it would be! When I asked the plumber about this, he said the "not more than $50" quote was just for parts. Furthermore, he tried to blame the misunderstanding on my mother by saying, "she should have known." When I told him that I too thought the job would be less than $50 plus the service charge, he continued to insist that it was our fault, and we should have known. This was definitely not a good experience. read more

Have a sewer smell in bathroom, plumber came out said he could not smell anything, flush the toilet 5 times and charged me 87 dollars and left. Smell bad in there every day but because when he came, he could not smell anything, didn't even try to check the vent stack like i asked him to. Called septic middle of the night. That service was great! If you have a septic problem, call them. Good price, good people. Still had an issue...then the fun started. Septic guy told us a plumber was on the way. Stayed up until 6:30 in the morning waiting. Finally got a call saying plumber would arrive between 10 and 1. Unacceptable! Pushed the urgency of our issue (leaving in 2 days for winter holiday). Plumber arrived 8:13 AM. Real fun starts. Plumber starts with shoving the auger from the septic tank (later found out into the wrong pipe). Tried twice. Then tried from in the house. Never even looked for the clean out pipe. 5 hours later he said broken pipe and left. Out $540 dollars, still have a problem. Outrageous!!! Guy with the pipe camera scheduled to come out NEXT DAY. Completely unacceptable. Gave up and called a local guy. Took 2 hours, and only because they had to find the clean out pipe. Guess what? No broken pipe just a clog. Cost less and problem solved. Our plumbing works and we are off to our vacation. End result: Mike Scott for septic...NOT PLUMBING. read more

Needed septic pumped immediately as it was back flowing into tubs. I called eight places who wouldn't come any sooner than 5-6 days out. Mike Scott came same day. They are not the cheapest, in fact they were the most expensive of the eight I called but they are available on short notice. Guys who came out were friendly and explained a lot of things I thought we were doing right that could be done better. Even showed me how to clean the filter ( which is very easy) so I don't have to pay for someone to do it. I'd definitely use them again. read more
