We highly recommend Kerrisdale Roofing and Drains…read more After the atmospheric river that hit the Lower Mainland in 2022 flooded our basement, we hired Kerrisdale Roofing and Drains to replace the drain tile around our home. They also replaced our sewer and grey water lines all the way out to the city's collection lines under the street. It was a major project, and their team handled it professionally from start to finish. One of our biggest concerns was that the work would require excavating around a large, well-established garden. The crew took great care with our property, carefully protecting plants and restoring the garden when the work was complete. We were extremely impressed with the attention they gave to both the technical work and the restoration afterward. The quality of the work was outstanding, and the team kept us informed throughout the entire process. We always knew what was happening and what to expect next. More recently, we brought them back to repair a drain line in our basement. The job required jackhammering the floor, excavating a new trench, replacing connection hardware, and restoring the concrete floor. Once again, the work was completed to a very high standard. What stands out most about Kerrisdale Roofing and Drains is their communication, professionalism, and commitment to doing the job right. Tim and his team were knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with throughout both projects. Their drainage expertise is second to none, and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and exceptional service. Thank you, Tim and team, for another job well done.

I've hired M & M Home Repair twice: March 2019 and January 2021 to fix broken backyard fence both…read moretimes. Here are pros & cons and my advice if you are thinking of hiring them. PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. However, I would definitely get a quote from other contractors first. ************************************************************ Don't forget to like my review (useful and/or cool)! We have been trying to contact Simar for over two months and he refuses to answer or return our calls. Since then we have had an envelope inspector do a report on the roof. He found that the workmanship was very poor, and that standard roofing practices had not been followed, causing major issues with the roof. We have a very long list of all the mistakes that were made. We have had several reputable roofing companies look at the roof, and they all believe that it should be replaced entirely. This will be more expensive than starting with a new roof as the old roof will need to be removed. This repair has majorly delayed the rest of the renovation. It has also added costs in terms of drywalling, general delay and also extended rental at our current home. Additionally, due to a bank error, Simar was overpaid $3200, which he acknowledged and promised to return to us. It is many months later and he has not returned the money, nor has he contacted us. We have a signed contract offering a five year warranty. Dealing with Simar and Save More Roofing has not only been very stressful, but in the end it will have cost us additional tens of thousands. We have been nothing but polite and have tried to resolve this peacefully, but there is no response form Simar.
