We brought it on Tuesday and their key guy said it's an issue with the truck. Duke Chevrolet told me they would bring it over to Toyota to sort out the issues that day. They didn't bring it until the following day Wednesday April 8th. It is now Thursday April 9th and Toyota wasn't able to fix the issue. We bought this Truck because we had a trip out of town on Friday April 10th and we needed the truck. My wife went in to sort out the issue and see what they could do for us. Grace stated the vehicle should have never hit the lot with this issue. Danny their service manager said it had never hit the lot and Austin had pulled it out to sell. My wife went to their Sales Manager Mike with this information to see if they could possibly give us a rental so we could make the trip tomorrow. Austin knew we had a trip out of town when I purchased this vehicle. Mike basically told us their is nothing they could do for us and while my wife was there (I was on speaker phone so I heard all this) he told us that he also has a trip tomorrow so he's got to get moving and when my wife retorted with "yeah but you have a reliable vehicle" he waved his hand at her and said "I'm not going there with you." My wife was not being rude she was just stating a fact. Mike is a horrible Sales Manager and in my opinion should be fired for disrespecting a customer that didn't even raise her voice and waving her off like it's the 16th century. I was unable to be there due to work. When I asked over my wife's speaker phone what the return policy was Mike stated "4 days, 200 miles" which both have probably passed seeing as I got to drive it for a whole 60 miles before turning it back into them on Tuesday and they drove the rest of it. They stated they will fix the issue, but the fact that Mike disrespected my wife, the fact that Grace (I am assuming her position is high up in sales) stated this truck should have never hit the lot, and the fact that Danny stated it should have never been pulled from Service and there is absolutely nothing Duke Automotive can do about the inconvenience of this issue (other than get it fixed whenever they can I guess) has put a bad taste in my mouth for Duke Chevrolet Automotive. Hopefully this gets seen my Eley Duke, because at this point I am screwed out of this trip unless we get a rental on our own dime, because of multiple screw ups from this supposedly good dealership. While I was typing this Mike called me back and told me Eley Duke would pay up to $250 for a rental vehicle. So I guess there's that, but when I asked Mike if he raised his hand and shooed my wife away he stated he did not, however I do not believe him because I heard his statement "I'm not going there with you" right before my wife said "I just got dismissed." For a first time doing business with Duke Chevrolet Automotive, all I have to say is this has not been a pleasant one. Thank you Eley for offering 250 towards a rental, and thank you Danny and Grace for treating my wife with respect. I'd even say Austin was pleasant to work with, but Mike, I heard your tone over the phone and shame on you for shooing away a customer when they are asking for help. I regret giving him the benefit of the doubt. My active-duty Coast Guard son paid Hawk's approximately $5,300 to replace the engine in his 2019 Kia Rio with a used engine that had approximately 14,000 miles on it. Approximately 10 DAYS after the engine replacement, while my son was traveling across the country for a Coast Guard move, the vehicle broke down again in Oklahoma. He was stranded far from home and ultimately had to leave his vehicle behind and fly to California to report to his new duty station. In addition to the repair, he incurred airfare, checked-baggage expenses, shipping costs for his civilian belongings, Uber/transportation expenses, and the enormous inconvenience of arriving at his new duty station without his vehicle and belonging he could not fly or ship- The Oklahoma mechanic who actually diagnosed and repaired the vehicle confirmed to me that the problem involved the engine-mounted high-pressure fuel pump. He found that the mounting bolts had snapped off. He told me they may have been overtightened or not tightened at all-The resulting repair cost my son another $1,200 (and that's with the mechanic accepting mere crumbs for labor!) What happened next is the reason I am writing this review: Randall called me himself. In his voicemail, he apologized for what happened, discussed the fuel-pump bolt issue, said that although the replacement engine came with the fuel pump already on it, they should have gone in and checked/tightened the bolts, and then specifically told me he was going to send us a check for half of the $1,200 repair bill. He asked me to text him my mailing address so he could send the check. I did so on September 2. I believed him. In fact, I was so appreciative that he appeared willing to stand behind the situation that I deleted my original negative review. I told him I appreciated him doing the right thing. I gave him the OK mechanic's phone number and the receipt for $1200 for him to verify my facts: I then waited.And waited. I followed up. Randall acknowledged one of my follow-ups. I followed up again a week later asking when I could expect the check. My message was read and not answered. As of September 20, 18 days after providing the mailing address he specifically requested, no promised reimbursement has arrived and I have received no explanation for why he apparently stopped communicating. 10 days after Hawk's completed a $5,300 engine replacement, the vehicle broke down again; the Oklahoma mechanic found the high-pressure fuel-pump mounting bolts snapped off; my son paid another $1,200; and Randall subsequently apologized and voluntarily promised to reimburse half of that bill. He has not honored that promise. I have preserved the original voicemail, its transcription, our text-message history, payment documentation, and the information from the Oklahoma mechanic. I am now documenting this matter with the Virginia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section and the Better Business Bureau, and we are exploring the legal-assistance resources available to my son as an active-duty Coast Guard member. This entire situation could have ended very differently. I gave Randall credit for stepping up, removed my first review, and gave him more than two weeks to do exactly what he volunteered to do. I wasn't demanding that he pay the entire $1,200. I was simply expecting him to keep the commitment HE voluntarily made. Consumers can draw their own conclusions from these facts. I know that I would never entrust another vehicle belonging to someone I love to this business.

He told me he could come out the next morning to look and quote the cleaning of the undercarriage. As promised, he called the next morning to let me know he was on the way. He arrived promptly and gave me an approximate quote that was far under what I was expecting to be charged given the morbid and nauseating job I was asking him to do. He finished the job thoroughly and efficiently. I made sure to tip him well because his final price was the same as the quote. Honestly, it was a steal. Quest was honest, timely, cost-effective, professional, and polite. Price's Automatic Transmissions have been around a long time. They have built a reputation on…read moreservice, workmanship and standing behind their work. Most in the community only know them by reputation for transmission work. However, many may not realize the shop does almost everything. When my son's used car began having transmission issues a Checkerd Flag Toyota recommendation was to have Price's take a look. I did so and scheduled with front desk staff Amanda who was fantastic. The older model Honda was diagnosed quickly with needing a transmission rebuild. I also asked for an estimate on brakes, rotors and calipers and a few smaller items. A detailed written estimate accompanied and it was not cheap. But I had already done my homework and knew it was more reasonable than the dealer and another local shop. They also provide military discounts which is a rarity in this field. Ultimately after less than a week of thinking about what to do the manager Les called me. I decided to move forward and scheduled the work. Les provided a ride home and also picked me up when repairs completed. The car was delivered as promised after four days. There was a lot to do and I felt very comfortable with the skilled technicians that have worked at Price's for years. They also back up all transmission work with a 3/36k warranty. Other shops do not offer that extensive of a warranty. Also their warranty is good coast to coast as they have agreements with shops across the country. The only caveat is the car must be returned for inspection and sign off on warranty around 10 days after initial work complete. Checkout with Amanda was smooth and the price was to the penny as promised. But wait! Amanda informs me that she took it upon herself to have the car receive a Virginia state inspection that was due in days. That is one of few services Price's does not offer. It passed and they provided it as a thank you for my business. WOW!, what other shop would do this...few in my opinion. Follow up with shop to sign off on the warranty was completed in less than two weeks. I informed them the car operated like it was new. The shifting was now smooth, braking perfect and no more wobbly wheel. Other items also fixed such as a leaky overhead gasket. The inspection took around 15 minutes and I enjoyed a cup of coffee. Price's remains a family owned local shop. They have fleet contracts with City of VB, Chesapeake among others for a reason. They are trusted, get the job done right and are affordable. I cannot stress the fact it's their integrity that I appreciated the most. They wanted my business enough to follow up which I liked and the price never increased when it could have with a few small items added. 100% RECOMMEND! Closed half day Friday and weekends.
