I bought a used truck from Austin on Saturday April 4th. When I purchased it had a key issue and…read moreAustin gave me an IOU to get it fixed on Tuesday April 7th. We brought it on Tuesday and their key guy said it's an issue with the truck. Duke Chevrolet told me they would bring it over to Toyota to sort out the issues that day. They didn't bring it until the following day Wednesday April 8th. It is now Thursday April 9th and Toyota wasn't able to fix the issue. We bought this Truck because we had a trip out of town on Friday April 10th and we needed the truck. My wife went in to sort out the issue and see what they could do for us. Grace stated the vehicle should have never hit the lot with this issue. Danny their service manager said it had never hit the lot and Austin had pulled it out to sell. My wife went to their Sales Manager Mike with this information to see if they could possibly give us a rental so we could make the trip tomorrow. Austin knew we had a trip out of town when I purchased this vehicle. Mike basically told us their is nothing they could do for us and while my wife was there (I was on speaker phone so I heard all this) he told us that he also has a trip tomorrow so he's got to get moving and when my wife retorted with "yeah but you have a reliable vehicle" he waved his hand at her and said "I'm not going there with you." My wife was not being rude she was just stating a fact. Mike is a horrible Sales Manager and in my opinion should be fired for disrespecting a customer that didn't even raise her voice and waving her off like it's the 16th century. I was unable to be there due to work. When I asked over my wife's speaker phone what the return policy was Mike stated "4 days, 200 miles" which both have probably passed seeing as I got to drive it for a whole 60 miles before turning it back into them on Tuesday and they drove the rest of it. They stated they will fix the issue, but the fact that Mike disrespected my wife, the fact that Grace (I am assuming her position is high up in sales) stated this truck should have never hit the lot, and the fact that Danny stated it should have never been pulled from Service and there is absolutely nothing Duke Automotive can do about the inconvenience of this issue (other than get it fixed whenever they can I guess) has put a bad taste in my mouth for Duke Chevrolet Automotive. Hopefully this gets seen my Eley Duke, because at this point I am screwed out of this trip unless we get a rental on our own dime, because of multiple screw ups from this supposedly good dealership. While I was typing this Mike called me back and told me Eley Duke would pay up to $250 for a rental vehicle. So I guess there's that, but when I asked Mike if he raised his hand and shooed my wife away he stated he did not, however I do not believe him because I heard his statement "I'm not going there with you" right before my wife said "I just got dismissed." For a first time doing business with Duke Chevrolet Automotive, all I have to say is this has not been a pleasant one. Thank you Eley for offering 250 towards a rental, and thank you Danny and Grace for treating my wife with respect. I'd even say Austin was pleasant to work with, but Mike, I heard your tone over the phone and shame on you for shooing away a customer when they are asking for help. Can't wait to drive my new to me Tacoma whenever that will be.

I…read moreshowed up early to my appointment to sign the paperwork and ended up sitting for 6 hours in the dealership waiting for the process to be complete. 5hours of that time was spent literally waiting around. I ended up staying well past the closing time and was constantly told that it would just be a few more minutes.... Had we not finalized the paperwork on the sale of my trade in and down payment I would have cancelled the deal and walked out. Even when the deal was done, I ended up having to come back due to issues with the paperwork. In addition, never heard from manager when I complained. I'd expect a better consumer experience. Just know when you go that they are not staffed to handle more than one deal at a time. Hopefully their Virginia Beach location is better equipped to deal with multiple customers.

We have purchased a vehicle here and had another serviced over the years, which is why we decided to take that same vehicle back to them when new issues came up. We recently requested that they run diagnostics and were quoted +-$200, which we agreed to. The vehicle would not start which we told them before it was brought in that the reason it was being towed to them was because the battery was dead. We then get a call that they want ANOTHER $200 to DIAGNOSE THE BATTERY WE HAD ALREADY TOLD THEM WAS DEAD... not a great start. Had to fight to have them adjust the "diagnostic" fee for the battery. Then in order to diagnose the issue(s) we had it dropped off for, and after paying them several hundred $ to replace the battery because they said they could not jump it it to run diagnostics, they then reported back that they couldn't come up up with codes indicating any problems with the vehicle (we told them the vehicle was dropping speed on its own, and stopped while driving on two occasions). So now they've tried to charge 2 diagnostic fees for the battery we told them was dead and the issue causing the vehicle to lose power while driving, and they say it isn't throwing codes for anything and that they drove the vehicle to ensure no issue. Last, since they have the vehicle and a safety inspection was needed, and because they said the vehicle was fine, we paid for the safety inspection - they tell us everything is A-OK but we need new wiper blades - that's cheap so we have them replace the blades. We go to pick up the vehicle, start it and an error message that has been there EVERY TIME we started the vehicle before the battery died and after issues were experienced that caused us to need to have it looked at, immediately pops up again (service tire pressure monitoring system) and the smart-aleck service tech says he hadn't seen that dash error message and they "it's not uncommon for a vehicle to have new issues when being picked up by the customer". You've got to be joking right?!?! Because remember, they just ran diagnostics and told us nothing was wrong with the vehicle. Mind you at this point they have run up the charges to $600 and reported no diagnostic issues! We are in disbelief at this point because they are the "professionals" and we trusted them... note past tense "trusted". And things don't end here... the VERY NEXT DAY while driving the vehicle, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER THEY REPLACED THE DAY BEFORE LITERALLY FLIES OFF OF THE CAR IN THE RAIN! So now we get to stop at Napa and buy new wipers for the second day in a row. I call and ask for a return call to discuss this experience and have YET to receive the courtesy of hearing back from these fools. STAY AWAY! Especially as a woman, they will take you for everything they can and not even have the guts to return a call.

Update to my first review as I can only leave one review…read more July 1st, 2025 On Friday June 27, I initially took in my 2020 Honda Pilot in for what I thought was a simple state inspection, oil change, and purchase of a used tire on the left driver's (LR) side. The first red flag was the comment of being short staffed. I took my car in at the reserved 9:30 a.m. appointment time. I left my car there to be serviced. I got a call back just before 11:30 am. on the same day for pickup. I picked up my car at 2 and paid for the requested services. I got in my car to leave, and there was a rejection sticker. On the Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate my car failed due to tires. The Right Front (RF) and the Left Rear (LR) tire failed the inspection ( see attached certificate). I went back into the shop to ask questions. The receptionist stated that she was not aware that my car failed inspection and apologized for the lack of communication. Next, the receptionist, technician, and myself went outside to my car to explain why the vehicle failed. The technician stated that I needed to replace the Right Front (RF) and the Left Rear (LR) tires. I communicated to the receptionist and technician that I just paid for the used Left Rear (LR) tire, and that tire shouldn't have failed. The technician stated the tire was never replaced (I almost left with the same leaky tire). I told the receptionist and the technician to put on the tire that I just paid for, and I was leaving. I stated that I would get another tire somewhere else and come back for another inspection as they did not have any more used tires that fit my car. I was quoted a price of a little over $400 dollars for two brand new tires. On Tuesday, July 1st, I purchased a brand-new tire on the Right Front (RF) side from another tire shop. I then made an appointment the same day to take my car back to RIDETIME TIRE CENTERS, LLC. since I made the correction that was stated on the Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate. When I got there, I was told the tires were not corrected. Basically, the Virginia State Police Certificate was wrong. I needed to replace RF and the LF. I pointed out that I made the corrections that were listed on the Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate. The receptionist stated again that there was a lack of communication and confusion. WAT IT GETS BETTER.......There was another gentleman at the counter that said, I am surprised that you came back after the review you left. I stated that I made the corrections listed on the Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate, and I didn't want to pay another 20 dollars for a new inspection. Again, the receptionist and the gentleman at the counter when back in fourth with me on the corrections. Again, I pointed out that the failed tires listed on the Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate were corrected. The receptionist stated she that she was not the inspector and there was confusion. I asked to have the inspector re-inspect my car since I made the listed corrections. She then stepped away and came back stating the inspector refused to re-inspect my car, and my 20 dollar state inspection fee was going to be refunded. I then stated to the receptionist and the gentleman at the counter that this is why RIDETIME TIRE CENTERS, LLC. has a 3.8 review and left. I will be contacting the Virginia State Police regarding the invalid Virginia State Police Rejected Vehicle Certificate along with the BBB. Customers beware of RIDETIME TIRE CENTERS, LLC. 1st review - June 27th, 2025 1. Inexperienced technicians. 2. Communication to the front desk and the customer is severely lacking. 3. Staff is short-handed, so the work is being rushed. 4. Check the work before leaving. You could leave without the work being done.
