I told him exactly what I was looking for, and in all honesty, he acted like a total scam artist with regards to fees that they charge outside of the actual insurance cost I wanted a quote on from Progressive. He assured me that we have the best available policy and ultimately he didn't get a new customer. However, he took the time to help me think through some aspects of our current policy that I could control the cost of and that resulted in a lower premium (for this coming renewal anyway). He may not have a paying customer, but for his honest expertise he has a customer for life when and if our current insurance companies changes our policy options (ie. hail/wind deductible %). These folks were great until I got into the duplex. First couple of maintenance issues no problem…read morebut then when as more issues arose, less and less of a response. Two month long faucet leak in my tub. Four unanswered maintenance requests. Was rented the place with a supposed working fireplace. Turns out it's not and it's actually a potential health risk. Renters insurance jumping from $10 to at minimum $40. Incredibly difficult to get a hold of. The number I was given is no longer in service. This isn't even to mention the poor luck my neighbors have had on their side of the duplex. Terrible terrible terrible. Stay away if possible. Know what you're getting into if not.

I replaced most of it with my own money. Finally someone came over to replace a few pickets as replacing the entire fence was "too expensive". The house was falling a part. The AC unit was highly inefficient for the size of the house and there were plumbing leaks. My utility and water bills were astronomical. Every year NPR would forget I needed to renew my lease so I would get the paperwork later and later. The icing on the cake was getting a final bill of charges after I moved out. I did not expect my deposit back but I also did not expect a bill as they had nearly $1600 to work with. The amount was just enough to get under my skin. It wasn't excessive but it was still nickeling and diming and certainly I didn't want to give them another cent. I had the place professionally cleaned and carpet cleaned. I lived in the rental for 5 years. I received a text asking for my new address then a bill was posted on my account but no summary of charges or notifications I had been billed. When i thought to look at my account online I saw a past due bill for the charges. Yet the summary of charges wasn't there, no, they decided to mail the itemized charges but electronically bill me a past due bill. After politely requesting receipts for the astronomical charges to repair blinds and wipe baseboards I was told there were none until the work was completed. I referred to the addendum listing replacement costs upon move out and was told the list was not accurate for my house and blinds. It's unclear to me why the would provide an addendum with lower prices for items such as blinds. I researched the items to be replaced before I moved out and know a round about estimate of how much labor costs and it's clear they are just trying to take my money.

An auto claim, in 2018. We were t-boned by a bad driver in Omaha. Our Car was totaled…read more Liberty undervalued it, and when I challenged that our adjuster just disappeared. We got a new one, all of a sudden, who said we were going to have a reduction, because the car's interior was in poor condition. It was a work car, for customers to drive with us in. It was immaculate. The soil was because the tow people stuck the torn of fenders and bumper parts inside the car back seat! So we got it esclated. Then Liberty "discovered" not only that the car had been undervalued but that we had a special coverage which required them to comp us for a car one year newer (same make and model), with about half as many miles as we actually had! So we ended up with an extra $4400. But we had to fight and fight and fight. A home hail damage claim, from last winter 2018... a year ago. Took two dozen phone calls, and similar number of long emails, escalation to a manager. A nearly endless battle. Finally got the check yesterday, got an email at 9:32 PM, asking me to do something about the check. AWFUL CLAIMS SERVICE. YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THEM FOR EVERYTHING.
