He said $99-$175! ‍ So I put on Facebook any recommendations and got a one man show company that came and cleaned for $99 and no service charge fee. ‍‍‍ I do have to say when I called SOS to cancel my appointment to repair they waived the service charge fee after looking at my scenario so the company does have some good employees.

Being senior citizens, sometimes we are not treated well - but these guys? They made us feel special and that's a big deal to us. Tony was not rushed and explained everything to us. I was fed up with the company recommended by our home insurance carrier after three winters of our furnace out more than it was working, while being nickel&dimed to death, being stood up, shamed, and literally shouted at by that company... so I got a second opinion and was horrified to learn our furnace had a crack in the heat exchanger and for our safety the gas had to be shut off. The original company said they'd be back in *three weeks* to give us a quote. With freezing weather approaching, and me with a serious heart condition I was DONE! To our recollection we have never posted a negative review, but our experience with Blue Best…read morewarrants one. We met with Blue Best late in 2024 to discuss our concern with air temps in our house, specifically temps in our living room and kitchen, which have high ceilings and southern exposure and become uncomfortably hot in summer. We were very clear about our concern, and the salesperson spent hours assessing our home and assured us his proposed system would solve the problem. We accepted the ~$14,000 bid to install a heat pump solution based on that assurance. By summer 2025, the living room and kitchen were still too hot on most sunny days. Despite many service visits and repeated adjustments (baffles, registers, fan speeds, etc.), the issue was never resolved. Blue Best ultimately stated the system was operating as designed and implied the problem was with our home, not their installation.  In our opinion, Blue Best is very good at selling a solution, but not so good at ensuring that solution meets what the customer needs. Two independent HVAC contractors opined: -Our ductwork is in good condition. -The thermostat, furnace, and compressor Blue Best installed were not properly matched. -Basic industry-standard load calculations (e.g., Manual J) were apparently not done, which would have shown the system was undersized for our home's layout, windows, and sun exposure. Blue Best has declined to remove the system or refund our payment, instead relying on fine print in the contract. We are now pursuing legal options. We have since spent ~$12,000 on a mini-split system from another contractor, which works as intended. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Blue Best and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Oof. I do not trust Any Hour Services…read more * Quoted $1600 to replace the furnace blower motor -- another company did it for $750. * Claimed heat exchanger had a hole (quoted $4700 to replace). Two diagnoses by other companies could find no hole, only corrosion. * Claimed heat exchanger wasn't under warranty. It was. Confirmed with the manufacturer. * Claimed the AC compressor motor insulation resistance was testing bad indicating near end of life for the compressor. Independent tests confirmed the Any Hour technician performed the procedure incorrectly, and that the insulation resistance was in good range. Additional details: The tech claimed there was a hole in the heat exchanger (found via camera scope) which could allow carbon monoxide leakage and he was legally required to disclose this. Used language like "he didn't want to scare us, but..." Two diagnoses from other certified technicians from other companies also with camera scopes found no hole. Just some corrosion. The technician claimed the heat exchanger would not be covered under warranty if replacing. I confirmed with the manufacturer that it was. The technician claimed the AC compressor was "testing weak" evidenced by "bad" insulation resistance readings, which might indicate a soon-to-fail compressor and the need for a new AC unit (potentially another $5000+). As evidence the technician sent a video showing holding the power button for about 3 seconds, then releasing just as the resistance builds to 60 megohms, the final level in the "caution" zone. The problem is the meter's manual calls for holding the power button for a full 10 seconds as the resistance builds while voltage is applied. Independent testing with the same model of meter and held for the full 10 seconds shows the resistance building to 400 megohms, well within the "good" range. (see attached videos, one of the technician's test, another with an independent test with the same model meter). If having Any Hour Services quote you anything, I HIGHLY recommend 1-2 independent quotes from smaller HVAC shops.
